    It is now September of '24 and batteries for the original Titan have not been available since December '23 or January '24. After you posted your video of 10/21/21, Unihertz was selling Titan batteries for $35 and shipping them worldwide. So was there a change of Unihertz policy about battery shipping after your video? As near as I can tell, all the other phones that Unihertz sells are having replacement batteries shipped from China. It is next to impossible to get any kind of answer from Unihertz as to when they will have more batteries available to ship from China for the Titan. Unihertz has never specified that they will not ship batteries from China or that they will, or will not, install batteries into a Titan that the consumer ships back to China. I suspect that there may be a liability issue with consumers installing their own batteries, but, who knows?

    Only a Gigsplained Podcast would have both Death and My Little Pony in its Title. Shame that Serenity no longer wants to join in with the Podcasts. I hope my Comment on the other one didn't change her mind. Serenity was speaking a lot more in this one. Never really thought about it, but yeah, I guess we are all afraid of the future and we must live life to the full. What was the last Scary Movie you watched Josh? I wasn't aware that you wasn't a fan of them. I love Horror films, but the old skool ones are best.

    Nice Podcast Josh. I watched after I got home from work. I had no idea you were married twice before. I am currently going through a Divorce myself. I enjoy the Podcasts but I do miss the Videos. Looking forward to what you have planned in the future. Credit to Serenity for doing 10 Podcasts, but yeah she needs to talk more, instead of just saying Dang. I wasn't a fan of School either, and I was in many of the lower Sets and my GCSE results were dire. I wish I could help you out more, but financially, I am not in a good way right now. I will eventually purchase some of the Merch. Its something I've wanted to do again myself, but I really don't know if it will pay off in the long run, but full respect for you trying new things and having Websites, Business Cards etc, but then you have so much more knowledge with the Technology type of things. I cannot fix or mod anything, Games is all I can do :D

    I do like the Name Gigabytes Technology. Totally understand if you want to change it, but I personally like its original Name, as its what I am used to it. What about Gigsplained Technology, or Gigsplained & Technology? I can imagine there being a T-Shirt with the Word Dang on it. Another one of Serenity's sayings. I have to admit, I have never read any of the Harry Potter Books, but I hear that if People have read the Books first, they don't like the Movies. I guess with the Books, the Reader can use their imagination to picture the look and feel of the Story. You reading the Book in only 1 and a Half Hours is impressive. Your a fast reader Josh. I am the same as Serenity, it would also take me much longer.

    Another interesting Episode. You Tube is difficult work, and finding the spare time to focus on it, ain't easy as you know. I don't follow any big channels and Shorts and Tik Tok ain't for me. I am also one of those people that don't skip through Videos and yes, I do watch your videos without skips. I have missed some of your early videos as it took me a while to find your Channel. You Tube really ain't the same anymore and personally, I think I started it too late. As you know, I don't have a Sponsor, in fact, I've had 3 or 4 offers but I said no to all as its not the path I wanted to walk down and its only Superchats that provide me with payments, its not the Videos. What you said is spot on in terms of channels having to have 1 or more Sponsors to get anywhere. Adverts I find really annoying and if it's Music for example, I cannot stand the Music being interrupted after just one Song. Your doing an excellent job and I really try to support as much as I can, and it was nice to hear your daughter's views on it. Its a nice thing she said about a possible Future You Tube Channel. Looking forward to the next Video/Episode.

    Hello Mr Gigabytes. Thank you for the mention in your Video. Great to see you've got your Tank Mouse which I also supported on the Kickstarter. Glad you got the Adapter as I didn't when I supported it and quickly regretted it once I tried it out. In fact, it took me 2 more additional purchases to get it working, so I've learnt my lesson. Again, thank you for the mention, I enjoy your Channel and I enjoy your Videos, even though you filmed it in your Car which your clearly not a fan of. As you know, I've done it a few times, but I'd rather record in the comfort of my own Home. Also very glad you found a Co Host for your Podcast. I really would of liked to of helped you with it, but with the time difference, my shifts and having very little spare time, it would of made things difficult, but I'll happily support you both. Looking forward to future projects and I will most definitely watch and comment. All the best from Jamie and Jasper the Cat. 😊

    Thank you! Time spent removing back cover, removing the 2 screws needed, replacing the battery and the screws: 7 minutes. Time spent getting the back cover on: 1.5 hours. LOL The key IS to slide that corner in by the lens cover, get the other side near the lens snapped in, and then (as I carefully watched you do here) bend the rest of the cover from underneath to get it to slip in. After that if you need to, press in on any remaining tabs down the side or bottom with a tiny screwdriver as you push down.

    Hello Josh. Great to see you again. I agree with you about how much You Tube has changed. The Algorithms are a bit hit or miss. Mine is all over the place as Subjects change all the time. I wasn't aware you was poorly last year. Really hope your over it. I will watch whatever the Subject you decide to do. I had a brief spell where I was doing Podcasts. It was just Audio, no Cameras. Some of the Subjects I didn't really know much about and I was extremely nervous about it. I totally understand your frustrations with view time etc. You Tube ain't what it used to be, but I do still enjoy it, even though so much of my spare time is taken up. I don't really earn much, if anything from the Algorithms. It's Donations and Patreon which help in that Subject. I wish you and your family the best and I'm glad your gonna continue, but totally understand you may limit the Videos and combining other Channels/Sites into one. I really hope it works out for you. I hope the Family are well too.

  • @AndyO-f7k
    @AndyO-f7k 10 месяцев назад

    For me, it isn't just 'distraction free' but also usability. The problem with solutions such as the netbook, is that they run pretty well, but have cluttered (Windows or Linux) user interfaces which get in the way, a terrible quality keyboards. If one of these was the answer, there's no reason at all not to use something like a 2010-12 vintage MacBook, with LibreOffice and a relatively early edition of OS X. Or a tad older, back to a G3 iBook running Mac OS 9, and freely available Office 98 or 2001. Personally, I much prefer the Radio Shack Model 100 (or Tandy 102 Tandy 200) models, which are cheaply dismissed here, but are actually far more useful and usable than suggested. A $38 REX# chip will give one of these instant backups of multiple pages of RAM, making it possible to store hundreds of pages of text, the screen is large enough to read while it's comfortably on your lap, and the keyboard is about as good as it gets in the history of computing. Add a $70 'Backpack' drive to plug into the serial port, and you get quick and easy transfer of files to just about any other system for final editing and archiving, and at about 20 hours on a set of 4 AA batteries, it's a go anywhere, run all day typing platform, which is the size of a pack of paper, but about half the weight. Next options for me would be AlphaSmart Dayna or QuickPad Pro. My Dayna cost $60 from eBay, and has a simple and efficient interface, a basic but very usable word processor, and uploads via USB to just about any reasonably modern system. It runs about 10 hours on its rechargeable batteries too.
