Why don't you try north Yorkshire.
Great video. Thanks from a fellow bike traveller
never watch that much makeup no fo
So? In the end, how much did it cost to transport for each bike?
Hi! Hab mir auch gerade das Infinito geholt, ist tatsächlich fast ein kg schwerer, als mein altes Rad, daher schaue ich gerade u.a. nach anderen Laufrädern, darf ich fragen, welchen Laufradsatz du drauf hast?
Bianchi 😍
Congratulation ! The best , is the view from Hotel Franzenshöhe tu the summit ! 2:37
the Stelvio is amazing! …but it is NOT the second longest pass in the Alps - it is the second highest (after Iseran); there are some longer passes (in fact much longer…), but they are not as high
…and thank God it’s not constantly between 9 and 11 % - that would be horrible… there are a few passages of 11 %, but mostly it’s between 7 and 8 %, averaging at 7.5 % for the 25 km
All of these videos are great for a bike but what about a bike bag?
Happy to know you had an ok trip. If you did a little research you could have found cycle paths all the way from London, better next time!
Looks like a grate trip! I am thinking coming to Germany to do a bike packing trip this summer. Where did you leave your bike bags when you were cycling around?
The last two trips (one in Southern England and in Provence, France) I started and ended the tour in the same city and booked the same accommodation for start and end date. Both times, the accommodation let me leave the bicycle suitcase in the storage room without extra charge. The bike suitcase is not a full hard shell, though, and folds together to a fairly small size.
How long does the battery of the air tag last?
Mine have lasted fairly long. Maybe two years.
@@bicibetta So 2 years without having to recharge the battery?
I was there in 2018 with my motorbike. But this year I am going to try this with my bulls harrier. We will stay at Franzenshöhe. First we will ride down and than it will go up again...wish you all the best.
This sounds like a great plan. Safe travels. Wish you all the best, too
@@bicibetta thank you 👍
Well done and thanks for sharing 🙏 may I ask in which month you did it ? April/May?
Thank you 😊 it was in August
have just found your channel and watched all your videos they are a delight thank you for uploading absolutely the best cycling uploads i have seen so far as a keen cyclist myself hope to see more in the future
Thank you so much ☺️ I am happy you find the videos helpful
Great video. Very informative.
☺️ thank you
Thank you! You are better than Lufthansa webiste :)))
Thank you 😊
I'm gonna put Stelvio Pass in my bucket list too. Can't wait for your new video.
Thanks so much for the info & video, so helpfull!
Thank you! I am glad you found it helpful ☺️
The ridiculousness of british cycle infrastructure 😅 You should try the north, from newcastle (you can get a ferry from NL) you can explore Northumberland and the north pennines, its beautiful and very quiet
Thank you for the suggestion to go to Northumberland. Actually, our original plan for the trip in the video was to go north, maybe as far as Scotland. Only because of the weather forecast we decided to bike south of London 😊
Just discovered your channal and loving the content especially the bikepacking element which i love doing. Last summer I toured the alps and used the Timmelsjock for austria-italy, nice and interesting pass
Thank you so much 😊 I am glad you like it. Timmelsjoch is still on my bucket list 😀 maybe this year
Stelvio is insane, every bit of its reputation is well deserved. I did it in august while touring with panniers, on my birthday! It got to 35⁰ but if you get out of Prato before noon, you'll gain altitude as the heat build so it balances out, and there are plenty of water fountains to fill bottles all the way up. I didnt mind the traffic, the gradient and hairpins keep all the cars pretty slow so it felt ok. I descended to Bormio, and i didnt enjoy that because there are so many single lane tunnels so you have to stop and queue at the red lights. Definitely a bucket list climb.
Excellent video. I dream of climbing Stelvio in 2024. This is one of my goals. Greetings from Poland 😀
Thank you!! 😊 you have a good plan to climb Stelvio. I hope it works out for you this year 😀
fantastic video! well done on your achievement
Thank you very much! ☺️
Hi I will travel by bike from Dover to Plymouth next summer. Who knows a good way back by bus or train to Dover? Is it possible to take the bike by bus/train?
Nice trip! So glad to see that there are safe places to ride as I am moving to the UK next year. Cycling in my present home town of Cape Town South Africa is terrifying! People here have little regard for the rules of the road or the safety of others. They completely ignore the pathetic green stripes painted along the edge of busy roads that are supposed to indicate a bike path and are forever driving straight through red traffic lights at high speed. Commuting is a heart stopping affair every morning. I am so tired of the stress and fear.
Good luck for your move to the UK 🇬🇧
You are moving from one dangerous place to another, beware cycling in london, its now lawless.
Surely if the thief has an iPhone they can just do a Bluetooth scan and see there is an AirTag
Thank you for making this video! I am going to have to make this event!
Thank you. I am happy you found it helpful. Enjoy the event 😊 (it’s twice per year)
you should never mount your airtag outside it will become totally point less , you need to think as a bike thief , so you need to hide your airtag INSIDE YOUR BIKE you should hide it inside your bike, "INSIDE" your bicycle frame , FORK, seat post , inside your bicycle saddle , inside handle bar remember "INSIDE" just make sure it stay hidden ,I manage to put 4 apple airtag and 2 momax Pintag "INSIDE MY BIKE " total six air tag I gotta say im very impress with the result it help track my bike within 3 hours after it got stolen last week and call police to help recover my bike within 5 hours it got stolen , and catch the thief think outside the box and be creative
bellissime montagne😍
Davvero 😀
You owned Bianco sport road bike and you use ATB pedals? How cute
Supply bottlenecks in 2021 😉
the most important step is to first remove the speaker from inside the airtag. It requires a bit of a surgical touch...
Good idea to remove the speakers 👍
No imagination at all. Thieves will see these immediately
So helpful! I'm planning to have a trip from Turin to Vancouver by Lufthansa with bike, It means I don't need to pay extra fees when I only have a bike as checked in baggage.Thank you!
Thank you 😀 I flew again with LH from Munich to Marseille a month ago and same thing: no extra fees because I didn’t make use of a regular checked bag.
lady you are so brave, i'm just a weekend cyclist, but being a beginner and seeing your vidz really has pump me up and now im motivated to up my rides. thank you for all your rides, and hopefully your still riding and finding new adventures.
Thank you so much!! I am happy to hear that you were pumped up 😀 enjoy your next rides
I have to try that, at least once in my life.
You should 😀 it is a very special mountain pass
Good documentary thank you, I can strongly recommend the Peak District and Yorkshire dales the next time you visit the UK, although make sure you have some low gears on the bike as the climbs are really steep! Oh and it’s even more likely to rain 🫣
Thank you for the feedback 😊 I would like to try out biking those areas. Thank you for the suggestion and the heads-up about chance of rain 😉
Thank you for sharing your ride. It is informative.
Thank you! I am glad it was informative to you. 😊
Thank you for a brief explanation of the route.
Of course! Let me know, if there is other information, that would be interesting. The gps recording of the route is also on komoot: www.komoot.com/tour/802758820?ref=itd
Hi great video - what chain rings and cassette did you use?
Thank you Phil! The cassette is a Shimano Ultegra CS-R8000, 11-12-13-14-16-18-20-22-25-28-32T. And the chain is a Shimano Ultegra CN-HG701-11, 11sp.
super nice - until you see what you have to suffer - thank you - let me enjoy on YT ;-)
Dear Zygfryd, thank you 😊 I am glad you enjoyed the video.
Where did you hire bikes please?
We did not rent the bikes. We could bring our own bikes (we had a trailer for it on the car). Unfortunately, I don’t know if there are bike rentals close-by.
Helpful video, thanks
Thank you 😊 I am glad it was helpful
Thanks for creating this series of videos! They are very informative and helpful. I’ve been attracted to this area (Bolzano/Alto Adige/Sud Tyrol) due to the natural beauty, and hope of opportunity for bicycling. As I’ve learned more I see that there are many good cycling opportunities, and a great cycling infrastructure! My wife and I are planning to visit in 2023 or 2024 (from th U.S.) - your videos are providing great information about details we need for our planning. Thanks again for creating them, and sharing them! -Pete
Dear Pete, thank you very much 😊 I am happy that the videos are helpful to you. I wish you and your wife a great time when you visit Alto Adige. And safe travels/bicycling. There is great infrastructure - especially along the rivers. I really like the area, too, and am glad that it’s only a 4-hour drive for me 😅
English church yards and graveyards usually have a tap with potable water.
Good hint! I didn’t know that and also didn’t think of it.
Great trip report. Thanks for sharing and good luck on your next adventure.
Thank you a lot James 😊
The bike touring option on Komoot seems to assume that you have more of a gravel/MTB bike than what most of us think of as a touring bike. I use the road bike option and then go back over the route using the touring option, satellite map and street view to find cycling paths and lanes that are more suitable for my touring bike and modify my route to take them instead.
I agree. For some sections of the bike touring route, one would have needed a MTB. By now, I plan my routes like you described. Starting with road cycling, and then adjust it 😉
A good start, looking forward to following you on the rest of your journey. Thanks for sharing
Thank you James 😊
If I use the apple tag, can am I still eligible to use it with my android
Hi Mike, I am so sorry, but I don’t know how it works between AirTags and Android devices.
