      Unlikely. They pioneered commercial SiC and are known for producing the industry's highest quality SiC products. They are the biggest supplier of SiC in the world. Wolfspeed is building the biggest and most advanced SiC fabs on the planet, right here in the US. This is expensive and time consuming but they appear to be crushing it. SiC is becoming essential to Renewable Energy, Aerospace, Electric Vehicles, Telecom and Quantum Computing so if you think those things have a future, I wouldn't bet against this Alpha dog!

      @WondersOfWhitewater i didn't bet against it, i invested 30k into it 20 years ago and now my investment is down 80% . Their financials are downright horrible, they are being investigated by sec and the ceo or their press department hasn't made any statements in the last 4 months.

    Hot stuff! It's amazing to see how power dense converters like these are becoming. I've long known about CREEs SiC products (now Wolfspeed) but this is the first time I've actually seen them in use. The efficiency speaks for itself.

    I have a question, looking at switch off, in the theory part the voltage is raising before the current begins to drop and thereby the loss formula. But on the measurement the voltages raise at the same time as the current drops… so the loss formula don´t match the real world, why and are there a better formula?

    I remember a funny story that John told. His father had asked he and his brother to help with yard work but they had stayed in the house watching TV. Dad came in the house angered by their absence and holding a long handled pruning shear walked behind the TV and cut the power cord. RIP John.
