The oldest existing bridge in South Carolina is the Poinsett bridge in northern Greenville county. It was built about 1820 and named after Joel Poinsett. The bridge is made of stones forming a gothic arch over a creek (see photos on the internet). The bridge is part of an old toll road.

Just a correction, Kings Highway ran along the coastline through SC, close to what is now Hwy 17. It was a road from Boston to Savannah connecting all the Colonies. You had said King's highway while you were at the family cemetery. I think by mistake. 😊

My parents are 86/87. Often times they will see someone in a wheelchair or using a walker and they will say "oh look at him/her. He/she is so old". And 90% of the times my parents are older than they are. It always cracks me up.
