The purpose of this conveyor was to take two large bags - one after the other - and spread open the handles. The two bags where then put onto a side-by-side conveyor, and finally onto a tipping cell that pushes the two bags together at an angle, such that a fork lift truck could pick up both bags at once with their handles.

A rather curious machine, consisting of three conveyors, a robot glueing arm, and a compression "squashing" table, all operating under the aegis of a Programmable Logic Controller.
