Awesome sir❤❤
@@mitalisaha9960 … thank you so much! I hope this adds a little bit of inspiration and maybe even a little bit of knowledge. I picked up one thing at a time as a guitar player, I think that’s how we do it. ❤️🎸🎶🎸❤️
Nice job. !!!
@@richardguzzetta9924 … thank you so much, I really appreciate the compliment. You know, I had my first gig in 1965, and played in bands my whole life. The last couple of years, however, it’s just been so tough for me to get out and play. I certainly can’t do anything like I used to! With arthritis, and just generally being a little bit older and a little bit more tired. I really miss getting out there and playing those gigs, but working from 9 PM to 1 AM, or 10 to 2 just isn’t in the range of possibility anymore. Sometimes I need to do this stuff just to make me whole again … ❤️🎶❤️
The wood one seems good too me

Hey this is awesome!! Are you playing a Yamaha and is so which model? Great playing and amazing tone!
@@B-fz7bu … well, thank you so much! And yes, it is a Yamaha LL-16D. I love it!
It’s a great guitar if you want something like a Martin D 42 or a beautiful Gibson, for 1/3 of the price
@@idobro thanks for letting me know! After looking up some reviews, seems it can really hold its own and is the real McCoy!
My uncle Richard trask was instrumental in Saving the Dobro Company & Products. And bringing them back into production & profitability. After having relocated to louisan on the late 70s. Where he fell in love with the Dobro sound.
Great Song FOREVER❤❤❤❤
Wow it seems like I thought I was the only one that plays with a thumb pick anymore.
@@wyndmclark7235 … I’ve been using thumb pics forever. The pic I use on acoustic guitar is a black mountain. It’s got a spring loaded thumb thingy, but it’s shaped and plays like a regular Guitar pic. This is really coming in handy for me nowadays, because with the arthritis in my thumb, I can’t even hold a flat pic anymore.
@idobro I started playing as a kid with a thumb click and just never stopped. You get a different sound with a thumb pick also.
Because of the thumb pick I've also developed a different style of playing.
@@wyndmclark7235 … same here.
Beautiful thx Dale!
Nice one dude..

@adn1771 … thank you so much!
Thank you, you inspired me to play once again, I have been building guitars, which I love the creative side, when I play the guitar I want to glorify the Lord... I don't need to be the best but as a part of personal worship.... Hope you understand..... Thanks once again. ❤❤❤
Absolutely, and God bless you. I think that Music is so precious and such a wonderful gift. I perform and I like to play for every kind of people there is in the world. We all have something in common. And I just pray that I might lift someone’s spirits on the weekend When I do play, which is getting kind of seldom now that I’m almost 75 years old. But I’m blessed if I can just touch someone’s heart and help them see the light at the end of the tunnel, or help them to look up once in a while … ❤️🎶❤️
Thank you, that was a great tip.
Hmm, all these years I have just used a regular Kyser on the second fret leaving the 6th string open! Works just fine except it is actually a “Drop E.” You have to tune the guitar down a full step to “D” and then place the capo on the second fret as mentioned in order to get the actual “Drop D” tuning. Most would understand this without an explanation but if you have actually learned something, you’re welcome!😎
So thats a capo on the second fret leaving the 6th open?
Yuppers.
Nice hat bro
Your lessons are no good if you don’t show both hands it’s pretty much a useless
I wanna play slide,,gonna try it
I tried some slide guitar on my regular electrics and acoustics and always had trouble with it. When I started really playing, I found that any guitar is good, even a cheap old acoustic guitar. I have a couple of those. And you might wanna try heavier strings, medium gauge on an acoustic. And I buy single 16 gauge strings for the high E or first string. That will hold up to a slide a lot better than a thin string.
@@areyouserious_rn … here’s a playlist of mine with all sorts of slide guitar lessons in it. Hope you find something that helps. ruclips.net/p/PLgSLl4PHyi6Zfi_HVcXorGCSpExQJvBfE&si=dKlq_xedVvHImkX1

@@GrungeMaster92 … that’s my little grandson. He’ll be 11 years old on New Year’s Eve. He’s been raised on a lot of music, Elvis, The Beatles,. He’s gone from one to another that I’ve introduced him to or that he accidentally come across. Fleetwood Mac, Tears for Fears, and recently, he discovered Eminem and he’s doing the Godzilla stuff doing six words a second and he’s really, really good at it! He’s having a lot of fun with it. So one day we went down to this street corner in our neighborhood to get the pictures. He was trying so hard to look tough and cool. Half of my pictures he’s laughing.
thank you. great song choice sir

@@greyplayz725EB … 👍👍
That’s a stunning guitar, the half and quarter frets at the bottom of the neck are beautiful. Are they playable or just aesthetic?
It’s very playable and very nice! With the cutaway, you can fret the notes way up on those extended frets. I never do it, but they are good clean frets and it works. I really love this little guitar, a Yamaha APX-10D that I bought over 30 years ago. It had some really cool electronics in it, for stereo and blending, but that all went out about 15 years ago, and I was unable to get it fixed. I could buy another of the same guitar, but I called Yamaha and they were no longer making that preamp system. I ripped all the stuff out of it and if you take a close look, you’ll see there’s holes along the sides where batteries, preamp, knobs, etc. were. It’s still a sweet and small guitar and I will keep it as long as I live.
@@idobro I’ll give you a nickel and a half a kitkat for it?
@ … I love Kit Kat! 🤣❤️🎸❤️🤣
The wood body takes the punch out of the sound. It doesn’t quite slap you as hard as the brass body. If I ever get my hands on one, I want the national style O just like mark knopfler has.
I just love the claptrap sound and ringing of the all metal guitars. No matter howcranky, the wooden ones never achieve that beautiful “washing machine with strings” sound. ❤️🎸🎶🎸❤️
D’addario makes a capo exactly like for that called the drop D capo you can use a real capo to make it work for every key
Yeah, my friend gave me one because he didn’t like it. I didn’t like it either, but it gave me the idea that I’ve been using for 20 years ever since! 🤣❤️🎸❤️🤣
I have loved this for many years. Thanks so much for posting this. I play guitar and this is absolutely my favorite song to play!!!
1,200 dollars . It has a plastic nut and saddle . Change them immediately for better quality and the sound will be so much better
Do wonderwall!
@@TheLifeOfAnIndividual … Oasis?
@@idobro uh YEAH!
That makes it Dropped E Tuning - Not dropped D. Then with the 2 capos you showed Dropped F#. You need to be more accurate or you'll confuse beginners.
I think he meant when you're already in Drop D but regardless you're correct
Great idea thank you!!
Awesome 😎 thanks
Thanks man..Clever...
This is so obvious in hindsight, that I'm flabbergasted it never occurred to me 😅
@@JoelMartinez … kind of the same thing here! I never thought of it either, until a friend gave me a five string, drop D, capo that he didn’t wanna use. It was like, instantly, that this was exactly the same as my regular old capo was only a quarter inch shorter. Like … wha? 🤣❤️🎸❤️🤣

That's impressive but my wife does a quick D lick waaaaaay better 😂
Daddario EJ42, the packaging is misleading, they say resophonic strings, they are designed for gbdgbd tuning, a tuning used by square neck players, round neck, bottleneck players dont use gbdgbd for obvious reasons. but people still buy them for bottleneck, so Daddario are happy. i use michael messer newtone 15, to 56. round core, phospher bronze, designed for resophonic bottleneck, in open d, dminor, and d6. or the equiv in g.
@@tigertkvcub The EJ42 are perfect for tuning in open D (DADF#AD), open G blues (DGDGBD), and the other derivatives that I use (DADFAD, DADDAD & DADGAD). The three bass strings are exactly the same as a set of the D’Addario medium gauge, used for standard tuning. I had been buying the medium gauge set and single 16s prior to D’Addario coming up with a resophonic set a few years ago. It’s all good … ❤️🎸❤️
@@idobro whatever suits you is all good. i like michael messer hand wound round core, because they are designed with input from Michael, for round neck bottleneck resos, they certainly complement, Michael Messer resonator guitars, i have 3 of his resonator guitars. they have the mass, and come to pitch at a lower tension than hex wound strings. and i like using strings and guitars, developed by a world renowned slide player. what works for me, may not suit another.
@ … I always wanted his Lightning guitar. I used to have several $2500 Dobros, but now I’m retired and had some emergency financial things come up. I have several cheaper ones now, one a new Republic. I will definitely look for the Messer strings. Thanks! ❤️🎸🎶🎸❤️
