To not see Montserrat Caballe mentioned as often as Freddie in these comments is absurd. What she had to do to sing and perform this crossover (on stage, contrary to of all her training and experience as the world's greatest soprano diva) and her delight in having this window opened for her on this new world was phenomenal. And then we come to that voice ... beyond beyond. Freddie Mercury couldn't agree with me more. What a love story their's was. She wanted him to sing opera with her, but he refused because he feared his fans would feel deceived ... what a shame. There were 3 equal partners in this extraordinary creation, Mercury, Caballe and Mike Moran,,,give credit where credit is due.
