May 20, 2024 The relentless winds continue to keep boats in the harbor and off the halibut grounds. The upcoming Memorial Day weekend forecast looks marginal as of today as well. Hopefully we get some calm stretches in June allowing the halibut hunters to get on the fish.

Very SLOW start to the 2024 season, the wind machine won't stop with only a couple of fishable days as of May 11, 2024 I know of only 1 Pac Butt caught better days are ahead!

This afternoon CDFW updated the Pac Butt regs for 2024 looks like NO June or July closure ....Looks we fish until the quota is met...any guesses on how fast its met? Im guessing late July going to be a lot of pressure on them with no salmon season.
