Sketchbook Tour #1 - Rediscovering Art (2023-2024)
Great tour! Your sketch of the homeless people next to the quotations you curated is very moving. Cute stickers! 😃I loved the Artists in Wonderland collab and got the stickers too
Yeah! That was such a fun series to watch and lots of inspiration from the artists. And I wish there were more we could do for the homeless - it's so sad to see, especially those far into drug addiction.
I like the idea of "everything in one sketchbook" - I used to do that a lot and they are so fun to review on occasion because they are part daily journal along with the art. I particularly like the rabbit and octopus drawings... I love your stickers too! Are you selling those somewhere? Thank you for the update and the interesting walk through thoughts and time!
Do you prefer separate sketchbooks? It just gets so cumbersome, but I also don't use a lot of mediums that would require different papers. We should do a sticker exchange!
I wish you a great day! Awsome art!
Thank you! You too ☺️
I love the idea of drawing in a series, gives motivation to draw repeatedly but diffrent poses. Never thought of that before. :)
I love your animal drawings, its so fun to draw them :D
this was such a sweet watch! i wish you all the luck on your art journey \3
Aw thank you for stopping in ♥️
Nice work… I love your pencil sketches..: very inspiring
Thank you so much!
Love it!
also I also work in tech an do art so loved the merge :)
Hi fellow techie! Glad to meet you :)
Such a fun sketchbook tour! I really liked the koi fish!! They are without doubt my favorite as they gripped my attention as soon as you turned the page. I also loved the rabbits at the end and the cat! Although how you can draw anything on public transit is beyond me as its so bumpy - if I am in a car as a passenger I can barely type a text message as the roads are just SO bumpy! And is that a little horse on the back of your sketchbook?? I draw a lot of horses. In fact I was to the ranch today and saw my herd. Poor Claurice had a branch tangled in her mane so we has to catch her to get it out but she didnt want to get caught as the branch was making her nervous. Finally we caught her and got it out. Then I was grooming George.
Girl, it's amazing! Thank you for sharing your art with us. Greetings from Germany. Stay safe and healthy. 🌼

This needs more views OMG this is amazing!
Aw thank you so much !
The drawing is amazing
Thank you! ☺️
I always enjoy a sketchbook tour as a glimpse into an artist’s creative process. It’s wonderful how you experimented with such variety. Your forest friend story is lovely and ink work is well done👏 Thanks for sharing 🫶🏼
Thank you so much and for stopping in ♥️ haha these little forest critters are certainly setting a high bar for us to get along 😅
I looooove your wolf! That's a great idea to signify what your sketchbook is about on the cover - I definitely have "purposes" for the multiple sketchbooks I have going at any one time. Such lovely animal drawings you have! Your line work is incredible - looks effortless. I seem to have had a lot of the same sort of tendencies - the more "comic" style is not a thing I embraced for many years, though I've come to appreciate it over time. I think when it comes to wildlife, we are often anthropomorphizing in drawings (I guess I should say "I" - I shouldn't assume for everyone!) - human traits and emotions are often hard to portray in total realism in an animal - but in a more comic style, you can really bring out an emotion. Love the nature quotes - I'm in full agreement. Get me on a trail and I'll be a happy guy! Lovely, lovely work! I look forward to your next video!
Thank you for the thoughtful comment as usual Boru! ☺️ Haha also doing multiple sketchbooks at a time gives more excuses to buy different ones 🙈 there are a lot of challenges to living in California, but the beautiful outdoors definitely isn't one of them. I'll be out on the trails too 💯
11:58- love the writing is this chinese/ another one please its BEAUTIFUL. Iv been to Chicago 20yrs ago. LOVED it.
Thank you so much! It's Japanese but shares some characters (kanji) with Chinese. I will have to do some calligraphy in both because I find them all pretty ♥️ this is a passage from a book I really enjoyed and remember the quote from The City and its Uncertain Walls by Murakami (and I had nothing to do in the plane but recall things). Welcome to the channel!
Imperfect art is my favorite kind! Lovely work, and is that a Hint water by your hand? I'm drinking one now! My favorite is Crisp Apple, but I'm currently drinking Strawberry Lemon. Just thought I'd share haha
Thank you!! And yes - in fact, there are three Hints, you just can't see the others. I might have a problem 🙈 I haven't tried the apple one, but so far the Blueberry one is my favorite ♥️ Happy to meet you fellow Hint addict hahaha
I could listen to you speak for hours ngl ! And your art is amazing, so a big bonus! Love your channel
Thank you so much ♥️ I appreciate your support!
amazing!!! i absolutely love your channel <3 its so underrated!! and i’m obsessed with fishes lately too hehe this really inspired me! subscribed, will love to support you through your art journey! 🫶🤍
Aw thank you so much for the kind comment and support ☺️ glad to meet you here!
omg that looks SO GOOD!!! also you use the same brush pen as me! it is really good your linework looks great, and its really nice to hear you talk! 🥰
Thank you! Ah the Tombow pens are so nice to work with ☺️
Best Hot Doges. Everrrr! Haha! I absolutely am interested in the inherent biases in AI - and I know they are not (always) intentional, but if you're mining data from niche areas - even the internet in general is a small arena compared to all of human experience - these biases creep up. And how that data is interpreted... well, there's a whole 'nother ball of wax. I think AI is a pretty useful tool - siri does a lot of work for me! I've not used it much for generative purposes because I find that a bit creepy, haha! But that too, I think could be a useful tool. As you alluded to - an AI tool could be damaging for a number of reasons. Just as a hammer shouldn't be used to clean your dishes... hm. One of my main concerns is, I don't trust -people- or more specifically, I don't trust -all people that might use AI for selfish purposes- Meh. tough, deep subject. By the way.... your bunnies... I can't figure out for myself if that's funny or sad... probably both. I like the mental challenges you put out there! Great video, as always... sorry I wrote so much. Just typed as I watched the last half...
I always enjoy your thoughtful responses and how optimistic you are ☺️ I agree, overall, these tools are very helpful to many, despite the fact that not everyone will use them for good 😅
So nice to see an actual authentic sketchbook and not all perfect like some other youtuber videos, makes me feel better about mine ❤ subscribing 😊
Thank you so much ♥️
These corgis are so cute! 🤣
Thank you ☺️
That AI nightshade tool sounds interesting - my guess is that there will be some sort of "arms race" as far as technologies that "hide" vs those that "seek" - I guess im one of the ones that isn't too bothered by AI in the art arena. I figure that humans are doing essentially the same thing - there's nothing truly "new" but maybe new ways of mixing things or viewing them or where we source our ideas or whatever and I will likely always side on the value of a human artist over a virtual one - but as a tool, I see that there is some value (assuming we all know the method of creation.) I dooooo have a problem with trying to pass AI creation as human creation - a human artist can have intent, and I'm not sure AI can. It's a sticky subject for sure!! Loved your lionfish! That's a fun inking project. thanks for the deep thoughts!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm always curious how people think about it as there are so many things covered in the press. Nightshade is pretty cool because its effectiveness in poisoning models scales with the number of artists that use it, but you are correct that research that counters such a tool does exist. I would like to think it could encourage compensation to artists (instead of into R&D to work around it) though if their works are used to train models or tools are built on top of models that trained on existing art.
@@yulleyi I do fully agree that original artists should somehow be compensated for their work - the digital world has really upended income for artists, for better and for worse, I think. I have a hard time being "against" AI because of the potential good it can do (this is probably more important in areas of science and research - just heard about AI working on "decoding" sperm whale communication - that's fascinating!!) - I suppose a lot like atomic energy - the potential for good and bad is inherent in many technologies and it really comes down to people and their own humanity - unfortunately, it's the "greedy" outliers that often make the decision to put profit over what would be good for us. (Can we just outlaw stupid, greedy, inhumane people??? Hahaha!!)
Wow! You have a lot of tools with you! That's awesome - and a good variety, I think. I usually have no real room for more than a small sketchbook and a couple pencils or pens. I do love the brush tipped pens - very versatile! Thumbs up! If I were to make a similar kit, I'd probably add some posca paint pens and maybe a couple shading markers (light greys or something?) But honestly, I think not having everything you may want on hand can be an interesting challenge. Great kit tour! Thanks so much!
You're right, I cram in a lot haha. I've never tried using Posca Pens, but I've seen a lot of people enjoy them. It's a good suggestion to add something tonal - maybe if I improve enough I can upgrade to watercolor. Yours are super inspirational.
@@yulleyi Oh definitely try watercolor! They even make teeny tiny sets - I think you'd be surprised how easy they can be for simple shading over ink drawing, for instance. I'd love to see what you did with them.
Cute!
😻
I am on my journey back to art. This inspires me! 💗✨
I'm so happy to hear that! Let's help each other stick with it.
Hello, you're quite amazing and will watch your videos again.🐕
Keep making videos....I absolutely loved your video. Inspiring.
Thank you for the encouragement and comment ♥️
very orgasmic 😊
5:27 What the. That is so a lie not everyone smokes here in Europa that is just a big lie. I live in Austria, Europa so I know.
Of course you're right, I'm exaggerating relative to what I normally see, but not everyone does :)
love your sketches!
Thank you for the kind comment 🤩
Great artwork. *You Drew from real life* . Brilliant. Great quote from Oscar Wilde _We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars_ (I first heard that Oscar Wilde quotation mentioned in the hilarious 1986 BBC comedy bread written by Carla Lane. Keep sharing and making lots more wonderful illustrations.)
Thank you for the comment! I'll have to try to find a clip - BBC humour is always top notch. Your encouragement means a lot to me ☺️
Oh very nice! Some interesting subject matter (I’ve never ever drawn a portable toilet! Ever! Haha!) looking forward to more videos… subscribing!
Thank you so much! Haha I just thought it was so cool to see a fully sustainable portable 😂 really appreciate the support.
Omg I love the black and white cat you drew on public transit, it looks amazing! And also super fluffy
Hehe thank you so much ♥️ cats are so adorable. I really appreciate the comment.
