Healers aren't really needed at d&d tables if players know what they're doing. A good support with backup healing and lots of CC and buffs is far more potent than a dedicated healer.

Imagine seeing clerics as just healers. Bro, they have a d8 hit die while still being full casters, have some of the most broken ass spells in the game, and depending on your subclass, can be proficient in all armor and weapons. AT LEVEL 1

Best D&D party I was in was all cleric/? .. we were all multiclassed . So all able to heal but with the benefit of having other skills.

I actively go from defense to antagonization and psychological attacks when someone fucks with the Healer. Bad things happen when you piss off healthcare workers no matter the world

I made a healer with a quirk. She is blind, but is a battery for a whole load of team wide buffs and heals that bypass blindness.

The first time i played dnd, i was made to be cleric, but nobody told me how to heal, so i never healed anyone

Funny thing is that you can play as a healer as most of the classes. As well as play as a dps as a cleric.

I play cleric all the time doesnt mean im using my spells to heal though.

Literally played a cleric my 1st time playing dnd. Had to heal the party so many times. There were no other healers. My spell slots got eaten. Fun times

Wild magic if done cohesively, and given enough opportunities to proc a surge, can be good. It's definitely more of a oneshot subclass than a campaign one.

Agreed.... wild magic is fun for one shots you and none of your party or your DM care about long term.... but its just a massive pain long term
