The key to Souther "victory" was not to fight a war. Continue the political struggle between north and south that had already been going on for decades. The US government of the original constitution made t very difficult to pass laws or do very much. The South could have fought a rear guard action against Northern political aggression, making deals to protect itself as had already been going on for decades.

If this scenario even happened, this would effectively start ww1 early, as countries like russian and the ottoman empire supported the Union. The ottoman empire would surely join on the union side due to having an economic rivalry with the CSA.

it doesn't make sense that the soviets are this strong against the allies at this point, they were relying on USA lend lease to defeat the germans, without them they wouldn't stand a chance against the allies

Why in this timeline did the CSA abolish slavery immediately after the Civil War? No explanation is given, and it does't make much sense to abolish slavery that quickly after having spent so many lives to preserve and expand it.

It would have been absolute horror : first of all beating USSR would have been impossible without hiring the most corrupt Nazis and other fascists throughout the whole allied administration and they would have taken over the US by controlling both parties. The only alternative in most Eastern European countries to Stalinism was fascism and in Ukraine they would have been worse than in Germany. The US have proven in 1989 how barbaric they are even with the relatively "gentler" neocons and with corrupted versions of 1967-style ideals, so imagine them with Southern Democrats with a triple dose of McCarthysm in power alternating with Far West Republicans. There would have been no post-war economic recovery in the West as it was mostly conceded so as to prevent fascism from seducing the mass again and Europe to turn to the East. With fascists already in power and no enemy on the East there would have been no incentive : most Americans thought by then that they alone were fit for democracy (and even then a very controlled one) and that such an invention was their exclusive property. It would have been awful for Blacks : the USA had the worst record of all towards that question. Stalin had been horrible (though not as much as Hitler : Stalin judged that 10% of his country had to be culled off while the fascists generally dreamt of suppressing 50% of the people and do it again every generation to make sure that the race improve).
