      @@chetanasingh2111 I think most of the calls you are hearing are wattlebirds, but there might be a magpie in the background is that park area is full of them.

      No we were not. We ascertained there was nobody trapped then worked on placing ground monitors on the exposures. Our main concern was the waste water entering the local streams and waterways.

    hi, How do you deal with the Nadir shot. I am into Real estate Photography and find it difficult to get rid of the Tripod. I use a 12mm f2.8 fish eye lens and using the Nodal Ninja 3 mk 3, I shoot at an angle of 15 degree covering the Zenith shot, and the Nadir shot. After the stitch in PTGUI, it leaves a big black spot which could be covered with a logo.But what concerns me is that its a little big black spot.Which software would just wipe out this black spot thus revealing the plain floor? Please advice.

    • @johnwarkentin1851
      @johnwarkentin1851 3 года назад

      The trick is to move the tripod off to one side just enough such that you can aim down and capture the nadir area on an angle. Then in PTGui you can warp it into the correct position using unique lens parameters for just that frame. As the nadir area is normally flat and small, this trick works most of the time. Otherwise, just extract the nadir area using a cube face tool and patch it in Photoshop with a content fill tool.

    • @johnwarkentin1851
      @johnwarkentin1851 7 лет назад

      The Theta has a standard 1/4" thread on the bottom and most light stands have a stud on top that has the matching male thread.

      Select equirectangular as input. zenit&nadir as output, run the program, edit/patch the desired spots and again select the flaming pear filter, input zenit nadir, output equirectangular and either level the new patced layer over the existing pano or use a layermask. Still not sure how John created his photoshop action, nor where I can find it. I followed the limited discription without succes too. Nice bootcamp btw that John offers, but the basics I know already, just interested in a faster workflow and this action would be great to find. If you found it, do not hesitate to share! :)

      Jack, this Photoshop Action I created is provided to people that sign up from my PanoBootcamp and Intro to PTGui Workshop. It does however require the Flaming Pear Flexify2 PS plugin. However, if you are good with PS and know how to make actions it honestly is not too hard to work out how I do this yourself and make your own actions. Or just take my online workshop and get started right now. yourdigitaleye.com/introduction-to-ptgui-for-spherical-panoramas-from-panobootcamp/

    John, thanks for posting this! Great tutorial with some really nice tips! You mention that you are using Smart Blend, but I also see your on a mac. Is Smart Blend set up via wine?

    • @johnwarkentin1851
      @johnwarkentin1851 9 лет назад

      Alex Duffield This link should help you out to install SmartBlend. wiki.panotools.org/Smartblend_on_Mac Keep in mind that is is very old and has tons of bugs. The key issue is speed and maximum file size. As long as you know the limitations it can do wonderful blending when panos are full of moving people, cars, leaves, waves etc. I find it does do some weird things with clouds and it doesn't like smooth tones much as it often leaves visible seams. The best bet it is to just test it out and see if it gets close to what you require in a complex panorama, then start adding red masks to force the blends around the frame if needed. Good luck! John

    Tong, There was some very heavy CA on that lamp post that didn't correct as well as I would have liked in the RAW file conversion from LR. I think it was somewhat exaggerated by the lighting conditions at the time. The slight shifts in the bracket set alignment could have also been a contributing factor. In the end it was easy to just paint out the ugly purple fringing with a de-sat layer. Like anything in PS Post Production, there are a million different ways to deal it. As the end game of this pano was the Little Planet, that one lamp post was really being magnified and it was just the easiest way to fix it. I hope this helps. John Warkentin
