Lindisfarne Community Distinctives. Ab. Dr. Andy Fitz-Gibbon
I am a Friar, I am not a Catholic or a Protestant, I am not a calvinist or arminian but I'm born again... I have no money but God meets all my needs. I was created by God to shine his light to everyone...I am not perfect but I know the one that is. . .he is the Way, the Truth and the Life. . .I can do all things in Christ Jesus my Lord...Hodos! I am a Friar of the O.T.N. Way of Christ... Christ Way of Living, a Brethren in Christ; a Mendicant; living by faith with would I can carry...Hodos! Etymology. The English term Friar is derived from the Norman French word free ("brethren"), from the Latin frater ("brother"), which was widely used in the Latin New Testament to refer to members of the Christian community. 1 Peter 2:9 King James Version (KJV) 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; I am a Friar . . .of the Order of the Naw-Zeer Way of Christ. . .Christ Way of Living...we are 1 Century believers in the Way of Christ. . .I am not Catholic or Protestant . . .I’m neither Calvinist nor Arminian ...but of the Way of Christ or Hodos in the greek. I have taken Vows to be set apart for Christ . . .Simplicity Luke 14:33, Celibacy (Friar's from this order can marry, put are celibate till marriage) 1Corinthians 7:2 and Obedience Hebrews 13:17 . Many people tell me you're not supposed to make Vows according to holy scripture. . .but do you realize that every time you buy a car on payments you have made a Vow to a man that you will make your payments . . .you become a bond slave to the lender . . .a contract is a Vow. I have taken Spiritual Vows . . .to give my life to Christ and live by faith, trusting God to meet all my needs to Forsake all... Luke 14:33 to be Celibate 1Corinthians 7:2 and to be Obedience Hebrews 13:17 I have humbled myself and submitted to the community of my brothers. I am wondering where the burden for the lost is...we can post about a lot of stuff but if mankind don't hear the Gospel and get saved they will be lost for all eternity...Romans 10:14-17...teach me how to be a soul winner...God spoke the World into existence, Jesus is the spoken word of God, the Logos and the Church, is supposed to Go into all the World and Speak, or Harold loudly, Proclaiming with conviction the gospel to them they meet...Mark 16:15... false prophets will take care of themselves God knows who they are, just don't be one ... .Luke 14:23 KJV... compel them to come in... Said said let the dead bury there dead, but you go and Preach the Kingdom of God! Luke 9:60 King James Version (KJV) 60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. Kingdom of God, also called Kingdom Of Heaven, in Christianity, the spiritual realm over which God reigns as king, or the fulfillment on Earth of God's will.
I am not getting what you are talking about New Monasticism...I am a New Monastic Friar...we don't believe in a New Christianity but look at the way the first century Church did things as mentioned in the Bible, we but into a daily practice the way the church did things during the first century...as outlined in the Scriptures...
I noticed that the intro has this labeled as Session 1 when it's supposed to be Session 5.
