For type 3, I think there's both people who want to create their ideal husbando/waifu and then there's people who want to be hot themselves and view their pretty character as goals. I also don't think the type of person you describe prefers bunny girls. I think most of those types prefer catgirls and au ra girls because they're smol and cute. Viera are pretty in a way thats too gorgeous and intimidating for most of these types. Also, there's data to suggest that catgirls and au ra girls are just more popular than fem viera anyway.

Im both the "attractive " and "take forever " kind. I've been gaming since before character creation existed, when it was just something d'n'd players spoke of behind closed doors. So, i instinctively take forever making my character, as im uses to all choices being permanent. And if im gonna stare at a character for hundreds of hours of gameplay, im going to make them pleasant to look at.

Lol, I'm somewhere in the middle of the first 3. I'm a female elezen so already checking the rare race box for the first. I do see my character as a reflection of myself to some extent. While I'm actually a man I do have many feminine traits and mannerisms that I personify through my character and their aesthetics. Plus I'm a real life elezen complete with giraffe neck and all. I've tried playing male elezen but never quite connected with them as much so I didn't stick with it too long. This leaves of course my character being attractive which yes, of course I made her as attractive as I could. Sometimes I just wanna be cute in my games.

Guilty of altaholic behaviour.. hell, I started the beta with two chars because my FFXI group split between two dcs and servers....lol

I take RP and stories far too seriously at times. Especially characters. So what did I pick? Fem Midlander. Nora's tough, and she rocks it!

As a City of Heroes/Villains refugee, I spend way, WAY too much time tweaking my XIV characters' looks. Still think CoX has the best character creation system ever. Also, Lalafellin lady main... except mascot-themed. :P

I play a minimum-height Femroe (6ft), and the thing I can never get over is how she towers over practically everyone I meet, right up until I meet the rare other Femroe and suddenly my character looks like a CHILD in comparison because they're anywhere from 7-8ft tall. It's also uncanny how often you get a party of 3 Lalafell and end up feeling like you're a nursery teacher taking them on a field trip to see the End of Days or whatever.

Very cute video. Appeared in my recommended so had to check it out. I guess I am the "Alt Creator" due to many years in other MMORPGs and I like seeing how they look (usually they are also my D&D characters) in FFXIV. It started because I made my first character (based on my EverQuest Ranger, which is my user name's origin) during the ARR patches for a trial account. Fast forward to 2020 when my girlfriend wanted to try the game together, so I made a new character to play with her as my first character was about 13 (and when I first played, that was a DRAMATIC level gap, compared to now).

I'll say that my own character is very much made to fit my own tastes. But he's also individually a very good looking character and I just recently changed his eyes to be solid turquoise instead. Best decision! \o/ Second only to the fact that I made him my main to begin with 2 and a half years ago.
