That little overtake on the swift at the end 👀 great driving Sir!
Siguen fabricando las hs51?
Some beautiful moves here Nick! just a shame about the massive power difference on the straights...
Superb driving Nick :)
That was brilliant 😮. Wish I'd been there to race 👍👍👍
Hello' Can you compare these MRF with other semi? Like a052, cr-s, ar-1 etc? Thank you in advance for your answer.
I'm afraid it is not for me to talk about other manufactures tyres. I can say, as Steve said in the video, it performs very well.
@7:38 that scirocco is dangerous, ran our car off the track exiting the pits later in the race 😡
+2 laps on the 106. That's a first for the Mazda2
So true traffic does just muck things up, so hard to keep with group of cars once you get dropped very difficult to get back on terms
Panda not walking away like last time, so improvements are working
Brilliant. Didn't know you swapped places with the panda as many times as you did.
Awesome driving Nick, loved watching this :)
Rare that the line through the center of the chaos is the best option!
Bloody hell good job Nick!
Nick Dougill aka Moses!
😮 no idea how you picked that line through that melee.
I learn something from every video you post 👍
We'll held that man
Bloody cracking save that😂
Absolutely fantastic driving Nick! This video is a perfect example of skill vs power. That Civic stood no chance when it came to the corners👍🏻
Come on little Mazda! It is so obvious that Civic has an advantage in straight line whereas Mazda eats Civic alive in corners. Wow!
Brilliant driving Nick. Skill Vs power.
It's almost embarrassing for the Class D and C cars to be so quick down the straights yet slow to the point of holding you up in the corners.
A big hit initially, and dirty tyres? Well peddled.
I think so Kam. It's unfortunate because come the end of the race, the finishing margin was about the length of the straight, so it would have been interesting.
@@MOTMotorsport there was no excuse for that impact. That was careless driving on their part, and they should never have been in that position. I'm sorry it cost you so much time!
Why isn’t it raining?
How was the tire wear on the HS 51 after track racing? Which tire would you recommend for a NC model?
There was no "track racing". This was a few laps around a circuit to gather feeling and opinion about how the Toyo tyre performed against another tyre. Tyre wear was not even a consideration, however there was nothing noticeable on either tyre, as would be expected after a short distance.
@@MOTMotorsport thank you very much
Thx for the amazing video!
Good work. Do you have a heated screen now?
We do now! 🤣
@@MOTMotorsport And what tyres were they?
@@demon1954 they are Rainsport
Good comparison! Although the MRFs were quicker they still didn't look to make it easy. I'm considering AD08s next year for wet and mixed conditions.
Where's the MOTMotorsport driving gloves 😜 go to all the trouble of making them and their not used haha.
Lovely watching. Can't wait to get out on track with you 👌
Thank you very much for your great comparison vid! :-D There really is a big difference between the HS51 and T1R. From the video I can tell that you don't have to fight the car as much with understeer and oversteer on the HS51, even though the Ecstas are touring tyres and the T1R is ultra high performance tyre. Seems like the HS51 is a very well rounded summer tyre, and the T1R is better left in the past.
yes the hs51 also won quite a lot of tire testss in germany over some more expensive "premium" tires recently
@@mrT-gx5bq good to know, my new car is having hs51 :)
Apparently there’s an updated version of the Toyo now.
We have the luxury of a heated windscreen but always keep one of these attached to the rollcage should it ever fail.. and only £6 www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/sponges-brushes-and-buckets/halfords-long-reach-windscreen-cleaner-147052.html
Why no rain lights ????
That is a good question. I think they just can't be seen in the video.
How does the dry grip compare to R888R or AR-1's?
You can probably get a better feel from this Piston heads thread. In my personal experience from racing a car, both on AR1 and ZTR both me and my team mate found the ZTR to be notably faster and more durable giving excellent consistency. www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=1858099&d=0#seperator There are also a number of Facebook posts facebook.com/384524648586261/posts/1142875032751215/ m.facebook.com/groups/664261153741267?view=permalink&id=3499065993594088 m.facebook.com/groups/388156601316479?view=permalink&id=1989783281153795
@@MOTMotorsport Many thanks for the feedback and quick response! I will definitely be giving these a go in that case when I'm due for a replacement.

What did you think of the tyres?
I know the video is a bit long, but if you go from 3:30 in then there is commentary. However, they give good grip, stay consistent and prove very durable and even fairly decent in the damp and mildly wet too. An all round very good tyre.
@@MOTMotorsport Sorry, I was a bit rushed as I was supposed to be working. 😂 I'm glad you liked them. Hopefully work out well for me too.
Considering HS51 on a Cup 250 Elise as there’s not much else (outside of track rubber like A048 or 888s) in the right sizes other than TR1’s (and I think the fronts might have a lower speed rating).
175 55 or 195 50?
How much quicker is the MRF around Snetterton 300 in the dry over the Nankang AR1? or in general dry for dry around other circuits? what data and time for time comparisons do you have? what are the times?
This is not an answerable in the form of a blanket question. There are a huge number of variables starting with the car, down through the driver, the temperatures, the number of laps, if the car has been optimised for the tyre and on and on. You won't find this information on the internet as data or "results" as the next video along from someone else will have different results. What I can tell you is that we worked directly with the Engineers at MRF over the last 4 years to develop these totally new tyres, , including the slicks, wets and rally tyres. In 2018 the ZTR tyre is the control tyre for the Civic Cup Championship, the Fiesta Junior championship and the MK4 Mada race cars in MaX5. All Championships are recording faster lap times than the tyres they replaced. We have also raced on these tyres and for us, we found our car was 1.25 seconds per lap quicker around Silverstone International than the tyres you are interested in.
MOTMotorsport oh I totally get that, to be honest the fact it’s 1.25 seconds for you makes it clear pretty much no matter what you put it on it’s likely it’ll be a fair bit quicker. Thanks for the great response and reply guys.
Hi, I just put my new fresh HS51 on my back wheels Ep2 Civic 2003, but seems like I roll on jelly, it's actualy dangerous every corner.. I never experience that on my Civic. So.. what can I do? in time maybe the tyres will improve, or... think about selling them? HELP
slOU mOU the hs51 feel wooble when you cornering, and make some sound easily. But ,the tyres can do better handling.. it more easily control when u take some fast corner.. i have do some test when highspeed cornering, braking and cruising. For me, Hs51 are not premium tyres, but the performance just good compare the other tyres have close his price. And one think, if u want feel the best performace of the tyres on hs51, just put air on the tyres-35psi.. 😁👍
Who was the driver?
Also keen to know... maybe Brian Chandler?
Was that this year or last?
sidewayssam 2015
Great fun is'nt it! i did it this year...
Although I agree that the HS51 a better tyre than the T1R, however the T1R must be near on twenty years old so people should keep that in mind. I'd also like to point out having just this week purchased HS51 (225/45/17) they are NOT sports tyres, don't get me wrong they have massive amounts of grip even in the rain but the tyre flex makes the car feel dangerous when changing direction with any momentum. Also I suspect the grip has something to do with the compound being race tyre soft rather than any design accomplishments.
Dear Florian, Thank you for your comments. This video was made, not to promote Kumho, but because the T1R is a poor tyre that the internet tells you is far better than its ability. Age is no excuse and in my view they were poor when launched, being wobbly in the dry and snappy in the wet. That this "test" took place on a race track is only that these things should not take place on the road. The Kumho does not pretend to be a sports tyre, however it is both direct in corners and stable and the carcase, relative to many other road tyres is quite stiff. We have fitted them to many cars with good results. The compound is actually quite hard relative to any race tyre and this is certainly not a special soft compound tyre. Regards, MOT Motorsport.
@@MOTMotorsport hello the kumho ecsta ps71 is good tyres 225 40 18 ore not friend
Yes, bog standard 1.6 Mazda engine. The down gradients help. Pretty sure you will hear the little thing on the rev limiter at the bottom of Eau Rouge. It's a sweet handling car and the power, or lack of it in this case means you don't need to fight it like some. From memory I think times were just over 3 minutes, I don't think there was a lot left as it is flat through many corners. There are plenty other video's on here that will show it is not fast in a straight line.
Is this really a 120bhp car?! 2 up and you are going really well. Came here from the road runner page. Good job!
