Camp PHEver is a PKU camp for ages 6-18, for kids who have PKU and their siblings. Located in Burton, TX and held at Camp For All. Camp PHEver was started in 1997 and still continues to bring happiness to kids one week out of the summer and create friendships and bonds that last a life time! I am Andrea, I am 24 I have Classic PKU and this is my story.
I am 15 years old with classic pku when I go to camp phever believe it or not that's the only place I feel at home surrounded by everybody just like me and at home no one is just like me it is very hard growing up with it but there are always rewards with your risks. I have seen you at camp before and hope to see in 2017
Hi Caleb! Yes! I will be at camp PHEver this year as a counselor and not dietitian. I'm looking forward to camp this year and the menu sounds delicious! I'm so happy that Camp makes you feel and remind you that you're not alone and I hope you've made certainly more friends with PKU who you stay in contact with all year long.
Hi I'm brenda I'm 35 with classical pku. I have an older sister that is not pku. My question is do you want kids some day? What can you give me for advice? It seems so hard to get my levels low, I don't know if I should try harder or just choose not to have a child in life.
Yes my husband and I are about to begin my pr conception diet next month and it is hard. But it is worth it. Work closely with your dietitian to get your levels lower. Feel free to email me at genuinepku@gmail.com Talk to your doctor and clinic they are the ones who can help you achieve your goals and remember it isn't to keep levels down before conception it is before, during and after. As well as desir d range is typically 2-4mg/dl for pregnancy.

hi Andrea im Hannah and i have classic pku and so does my older sister Heidi, i also have 2 older brothers thats DONT have pku, we live in UK
