Different error codes and what they mean. 1. e-16 This will happen most likely when your subscription is expired, that means you need to pay your dstv/gotv subscription. but if you have paid and you are still getting the same message, then you can try clearing the error code using the dstv ussd self service code. for nigeria it is *288# and *120# for south africa. it`s different in each country...

that means your connection is not fine, check if the cable is properly connected and also if possible change the position of the antenna. preferably somewhere high with no obstruction.

that`s probably that your decoder sensor is bad and it`s malfunctioning. you need to get it fixed or changed

could be that your hdmi cord is bad or the hdmi port on the decoder is faulty

No, the live it, love it will be stand still there, but it will not start booting, even if I off to restart it,it will be the same thing.

you mean after showing you the live it love it display, it trips off? if that`s the case try getting a new power cord if that dosen`t solve it, take it to any nearest branch around you

@@BunmiRachel well that could be 2 things, first it could be that the intermediary cable between your decoder and tv is bad ie (hdmi or av cord) or the tv is not on the selected input for your intermediary connection. to put it simple, if you`re using av, press input or the source button on your tv remote and select av or do the same thing if you`re using hdmi

What can be the problem if I have E17 on my screen
e-17 means you don` have a active subscription on your decoder or your decoder has not been activated from dstv so what you can do is take the decoder to any dstv office around you for inspection. note the cables you are removing from the decoder so that you can fix it back easily
I just wanna make this clear. this steps in this video will not work if your connection is not fine in the first place, you wanna make sure that your gotv connection is fine before trying to upgrade it

I tried it and is still don't work..it says Update error (code =SIG
what you want to do is reset the decoder again and manually upgrade it yourself by clicking on the menu button and scroll up to advanced instruction and scroll to number 5 and upgrade

@@EustaceHilary a temporary hack is to remove the signal cable before your decoder finish booting then after it displays no signal, you put the signal cable back in
I followed all the steps but mine didn’t work 😢 What else do I do??

it can fail even after a month but it`s good to get a second opinion if you don`t trust your installer

Very educative video, can you help with how to enter various signal frequencies using the DIGITAL SATELLITE METER
look for the menu button on your digital sat finder and press it then you should see installation click on it and you should see satelite list. In there you`ll see the list of all your satelite and their settings, look for tp list (transponder list) click on add transponder and input the frequency, the symbol and the polarity and click on save.

yes it can but it has to be a universal one though

No not necessarily, there is a smaller one an analogue meter, it's cheaper but it's harder to use, I might make a separate video on how to use it but even then still it might take you a few trials to get it right
