The problem with these games is that you can level up and become stronger, but even when you get to such a high level - you're still the basic guy who just rolls and light attacks. Why can't I do cool shit like the bosses?? They have so many cool abilities, I want to become strong like the bosses it's an RPG I'm supposed to, but no I'm just the same boring roll and then light attack even after 100 hours. I barely ever lose my souls due to being bad. Its always from fall damage or some glitch. The walk backs are so frustrating, it does not respect our time at all, and our time is our most valuable resource. Only basement dwelling nerds like these types of games. These games have beautiful worlds and art, music. Some of the best in the industry - but the gameplay (which makes up 90% of the experience) is so bad, I'd rather play a PS2 game like Simpsons Hit and Run.

The ninja gaiden 1&2 are harder and better in every possible way, but they require skill so noobs don't like it as much, in souls like games you die until you memorize the enemies attack pattern and after that you win, no skill required 😂

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES. Like OH MY GOSH. Great concept of a game, love the lore, love the theme of course and the characters and the story but the souls mechanics ruin it for me. If you like souls games you like them, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether you agree or not. I personally can’t stand souls games, not in today’s industry anyway, maybe it’s all you play, maybe it’s all you focus on. I tried games like Elden ring, lies of P. I had a decent time with both among other souls-like games but the focus and intensity they require right from the get go is just such a massive turn off man. Like why would I wanna boot up a game where I’m fighting a boss level guy like what 10-15 mins in? When I’ve barely even been able to collect enough to start upping my health and stamina? If that’s fun for you, I don’t understand why I mean I guess the rush? The challenge? I play games to enjoy their story and have a good time. Like I said story is great and love the Pinocchio concept it’s just why can’t it be something like the Witcher or something, still open and rpg themed, just, I don’t have to sweat just to stay alive after tanking one hit. C’mon.

I don't see how giant mean looking bosses ain't played out by now. It's extremely predictable. The Souls worlds LOOK really cool and they are the OGs but Lies of P enemies looked whacky and the way the game starts is pretty "meh".

Hey man, writing this literally hours after finishing the game, and loving every moment. The boss issue you have with Parade Master (First boss) is a common thing in this genre, most of the first bosses are very difficult as a vibe check, to kind of prepare you for the rest. From the gameplay in the vid (which I assume is yours) you don't seem to engage much in the core mechanics of the game, parrying or at least blocking. This game revolves around this and can make your life easier (Even though the parry window is brutal). This game is a challenge, and I can see why people don't like that, but it was intentionally designed like this. For your comment regarding the lack of map, I thought that it provided more immersion and helped me really appreciate the level Design more. Ultimatly, this game is like other difficult souls-likes it re lies on you learnign the mechanics and getting better through trial and error. Its perfectly fine if you don't enjoy that though, as there are plenty of other games that would suit you more. The git gud rule kind off applies here but the game is brutally difficult even after getting good, so I don't blame you for not enjoying this. I am not a gatekeeper btw, Only played through elden ring and this, bloodborne is next, and I love these games because of the challenge it poses, but I understand why some people are not into that.
