Which Stephen King book is Scarier to you?
Sorry man. Sucks when you are hyped and have invested time and it falls flat.
I probably won't read this one but nonetheless good job and I am sorry Stephen Graham Jones didn't deliver what you expected.
Sorry it didn't meet your expectations. It really stinks when that happens.
Very brave getting the whole series, without reading it before.
I don’t know if brave is the term I’d use lol I just didn’t wanna get the first one and I fly through it and have to wait to get the rest lol. Thanks for watching!
Hope the next one is better.
The next one sounds just as interesting as the first book did so I still have high hopes for this series lol.
Great wrap up!! I’m excited to watch more of your videos! The Hellbound Heart sounds interesting. I’m going to have to check that out.
Thanks for the kind words! The Hellbound heart was a very interesting book. Thanks for watching!
I love these books and I am eagerly awaiting the latest release later this year. They are just pure fun and adventure and make no pretense to any literary ambition. They are great reading slump busters and palate cleansers in the midst of other reading.
I can definitely see myself reading one of these between a huge series or maybe even a long book like IT or the stand or even a Ken follet novel.
Great videos Austin! I'm over halfway through Spartan Gold and continuing on. Liking a good bit. Finished Zane Grey's Riders of the Purple Sage and enjoyed it a good deal. I'm also reading Carnacki, The Ghost Finder by Hodgson, as I'm trying harder to get into older pulp/mystery stories. Thanks and take care !
Thanks! And Spartan gold was good just was expecting something a little different lol
What a productive reading week! Excellent wrap-up. You are putting me to shame with your pace. However, tomorrow is Thanksgiving for us in Canada so I plan to settle in and get my reading back on track.
Hopefully you got to enjoy quite a bit of reading on your day off!
Even without horror movie obligations Im falling behind a bit this month. Finishing up Warriors Path at the moment, its excellent! Glad to hear you are going to read more Cussler, sometimes it takes more than one book to "get" an author. Have a great week 🤙
Can’t wait to hear what you think of book 3 sir!
Very cool.
Thanks!
Good wrap up Austyn. Enjoy your vacation!
Thank you! Will do!
Would jump at any chance to read True Grit again. Ready whenever!
My TBR is still open for November so if you wanna read it then or wait? Just let me know sir!
You're definitely outpacing me in reading. I always look forward to your reviews.
I’ve really enjoyed the videos you’ve had on your channel lately sir! So even if you slow down your reading content I’ll still be a constant watcher. I really enjoyed your western videos!
@@OuterWorldMedia thanks. I'm enjoying reading more since I slowed my pace.
That’s good sir. Whatever it is you’re reading can’t wait to hear your opinion on it!
@@OuterWorldMedia same. I appreciate the authenticity of your reviews.
Nice stack of movies my friend. I love the cover on those jackets as well...
Thank you sir!
So glad you are enjoying the Randolph Scott films. Always happy to introduce someone to Scott's Westerns. The dude is underrated! 2 more Scott Westerns that are totally awesome: 7 Men From Now Ride The High Country One of my favorite Westerns is The Gunfighter starring Gregory Peck. The Big Country is another excellent Gregory Peck Western. Vera Cruz with Burt Lancaster & Gary Cooper is another great one. I won't bombard you with any more than that, but there are a lot of great Westerns from back in the day.
I’ve been trying to get my hands on a copy of the criterion copy of the gunfighter but can’t seem to find it anywhere. I’m gonna try and find me copies of those other westerns you recommended. You have yet to let me down for recommendations so any made by you jump straight to the top of my list!
Some great pick ups there! The Tall T is one of my favourite Randolph Scott movies. Richard Boone is so great as the evil nemesis for Scott. I don't have that set but I have a boxed set of the Bud Boetticher directed movies with Scott and they are some of his best.
The Tall T was the first one I watched and I really enjoyed it!
I would definitely read "The Searchers" with you. I don't own a copy so I'll have to try to get my hands on one.
They had a copy at the last library book sale I went too. If they have it the next time I go I’d be more than happy to pick it up for you sir.
@@OuterWorldMedia only if it's reasonable. I don't want to cost you an arm and a leg. Looks like it is an out of print book.
Wow! Great book pics Austyn. So many to choose from! I may join up with you…
Just me know sir!
Hey Sir, as soon as I saw “the fly” on the thumbnail I had to click the video! Absolutely love that movie, takes me back to my childhood in that video rental store and looking at the awesome movie posters, the fly was one that pops into my mind and nightmare on elm street! I am a huge horror fan, thanks for sharing! Monster Squad is awesome hopefully you got chance to see it now 👍
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I haven’t gotten around to watching it just yet but I know that feeling it’s how I feel about thirteen ghosts.
1 month down. Few to go.
Onward!
I dont own a single book from this author, will be correcting that soon.
I need to a couple more book by him under my belt but so far I’d highly recommend him!
Awesome that you really enjoyed this. Whenever I think about a book a lot, that's when I know it's a great book. So it makes sense that you rated this so high.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I gotta say I think you’d really enjoy this book.
Only a quarter? Nice.
Thanks!
Wow, this one sounds great. Thanks for highlighting it.
Glad you like it!
Excellent reading month. As I told Kevin, I need to get a move on book 3 of the Sacketts. You all will be leaving me behind in this frontier wilderness!😨
I just started book 3 last night and I’m almost 100 pages into it. Don’t worry about being left behind I have 3 or 4 other books I wanna read this month so I won’t start book 4 till the last week of the month lol
I really need to bump American Psycho up on the TBR. My morbid curiosity is getting the better of me on that one.
Read at your own risk😂
I'm from Lamesa, and about a quarter of the way through the book. So far I'm excited that he's sprinkled in Lamesa stuff, it really feels like Lamesa and not just a generic small town with that name plugged in
It definitely feels like he’s taking you on a tour of lamesa when you’re reading the book.
Thank you brother. Too kind. Really enjoyed reading with you. Sacketts Land was amazing. Hope you are having a fantastic Halloween month.
You too sir!
My reading fell off a cliff. Good job. 👍
I was worried that would happen to me after reading American psycho and rosemarys baby.
Great review of your solid reading month Austyn! Good stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You really play me up 😂. I am winging it like most, but thanks Austyn. Good video and insight! Well done sir!
Not playing you up sir lol your video was just that dang good!
Love this video! My wife is very happy that I love Louis L’amour novels which I just discovered his books two months ago. I just picked up 5 more L’amour novels at the Goodwill. I have close to 20 now. My father in law passed away earlier this year, and my wife told me his favorite author was Louis L’amour. It’s like a tribute to him as well as me loving L’amour and the western genre of novel. I read Flint and the Key Lock Man. I’ll start the Sacketts this month
I’m so sorry to hear about your father in law I send my deepest condolences. Louis lamour is a great author and my grandpa got me reading him when I was a kid so anyone can definitely enjoy his works!
I like Hondo.
Hondo was good. I think I need to reread it I think I’ll get more out of it if I read it again.
@@OuterWorldMedia I probably have nostalgic feelings for it because of watching the John Wayne movie with my dad as a kid.
Great job in showing how LL is an author that wrote books everyone can find interesting and appealing. He was truly a great storyteller. In my used bookstore, there are a ton of LL's books (happy) but very few if any Sackett books (no so happy).
Thanks! And well said!
I just tore through the Daybreakers and Son of A Wanted Man and just started Haunted Mesa.
I hope you enjoy the next couple books by him!
Great video Austyn. For anyone curious: Even his western stories are full of other genre plot elements. Mystery, Thriller, Crime, Survival, you name it. There really is a story out there for everyone. It is amazing to me that new bookstores do not carry this author. Just to throw in my .02 "Down the Long Hills" is a great place to start and appeals to young, old, male and female readers.
Those are some great points!
Wow, sir, awesome haul!!! I have several Louis L’Amour books and Johnstone books and an assortment of others. I picked them all up recently and haven’t read them yet. I’m going to try to binge read the Sacketts series and join yall come December. Maybe. We’ll see if I can! Definitely subbed to your channel when Kevin shouted you out!
Thanks! You’re welcome to joon us there’s plenty of room on the wagon train for you! Let me know if you wanna join the discord and I can add you!
Never enough westerns! Very nice haul Austyn!
You got that right!
Nice haul. Library hardcovers are the best for travelling and reading for sure. Great for the eyes too compared to some of the print in the old paperbacks. Bradford Scott's Walt Slade series is episodic so you can read them in any order whatsoever and enjoy them. Great to see you expanding your western library with more authors. Both Short and Patten are very good. Don't recall reading any of my J T Edsons myself yet, mostly cause I'm still unsure if the main series "The Floating outfit" by him needs to be read in order or not. Which would be fine if most of his books didn't fall under that series. Should check out my latest book haul I picked up aswell as my past ones if you haven't seen those too. Hope to see you dive even deeper into the genre soon. So much to enjoy
I just subscribed to your channel and I’ll be watching your book haul videos this weekend!
Spooky morning voice
Thanks!
Yes. You can always buy more westerns. Any excuse to watch O brother where art thou 👌 Nice finds, happy hunting.
I think we all always need more westerns lol and that’s a great movie!
nice haul!
Thanks!
I will save you a bone 🦴 just in case…Nice haul Austyn. You have to love library 📚 hauls and cheap prices on quality books!
Thanks! And cheap books in good condition you can’t beat it lol
Austin, the Spirit of the Border by Grey is the third in the Ohio River Valley trilogy. Betty Zane is the first! I'll have to continue with that trilogy. Great haul my friend!
Thanks! I’ll keep an eye out for that trilogy
Jackpot! That's how you do a library haul! I can never find used Sackett books so I am envious.
The sackett series seems to be one that I don’t come across a whole lot except for this past library sale.
I picked up a Max Brand today, I think it was white wolf or something like that. And Jon Sharpe Trailsman, Longarm western, and 5 more Louis L'amours at Goodwill today. I loved Betty Zane by Zane Grey, Ohio River valley in Revolutionary times. Loved it
I haven’t read anything by brand yet but I’m hoping to change that soon!
Awesome collection of books my friend. I love that you took it personal against whoever went in there last time and bought all the westerns. And you called them out. Told them not this time. I love it. I'm really glad to see your channel branching off into this genre. I know you always read it and talked about it in the past, but you really seem to be kicking it up a notch so it's good for us. Few Western fans out there. It means there'll be some good Western content coming our way.
Thanks! I’m hoping to read other authors in the western genre and get a more authors and books to recommend.
$6 for Homer's works. Very nice. 👍
You got that right!
