Welcome to my little corner of youtube. I'm Paul Tomlinson I've been a licenced radio amateur for over 20 years now and active on CB radio even longer before that.
My Ham Radio callsign is M0EME
Now I have a radio shack (garden shed) I can share my adventures with you.
I've set this you tube channel up to mainly show how easy and fun making your own radio equipment can be... If I can convert a few of you into home brewing radio hams then that's good enough.

A hastily put together video to demo the radio receiving using an external carrier oscillator to fine tune the BFO freq... Sorry the bands were empty and noisy. AGC needs tweaking it distorts on big signals and sounds raspy.
That looks great mate. AutoCAD 2002, steam powered, an oldie but a goodie!
HAHA yes its an old version but its what I learnt on all those years ago doing construction drawing for transformer production... Time fly's mate, thank you for watching and commenting.
@@paulsradiohacks You know, it's not really that old. I remember as an apprentice doing a 3 month stint in the drawing office back in 1984. At the end of the hall was a mysterious, dark, room, with ever closed doors, a green glow around the frame, and whisps of cooling vapour seeping through the vents. Mysterious characters came and went, almost unseen, people we'd never seen before on the seventh floor. And an intriguing device that garnered more conversations than the modern day water cooler, an A0 sized plotter, working by sheer devilry, was located outside the 'Room'. We marvelled at the perfect circles it made, those perfect letters it drew, letters we'd all spent an age perfecting by hand. Hushed sentences included the phrase 'AutoCAD', and we all prayed nightly to the God of AutoCAD, lest we go back to our drawing boards the next morning and find our hard earned pencil lines erased as offerings to the AutoCAD God.

We both enjoyed watching this Paul. I used to use AutoCAD many years ago but forgot how to use it now 😅. Front panel is a neat design and the wiring kept very tidy 👍. Great job done. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀

Thank you Rob and Gail yes thats alot of work but if its something you enjoy.... yes the wires match the leds and also voltages and if you look at the VFO boards they too have matching LEDs and some boards use 5v and 12v? thank you for watching mate!

It looks great. I put together a TennTec two meter but the foil came off a couple of connections and I never got it working. I've seen a few videos showing modifications to ten meter radios to make them multi band radios. Looking forward to your next video. 73s from the USA (kf4yah)
Hi mate, TenTec stuff seems very nice kit but shame you didn't get it going though, maybe take a break from it and try again..? you can purchase adhesive copper tracks and maybe fix the damage that way? don't give up mate. Working on video number 2 now be a couple of weeks I think. Thankyou in USA 73's mate.
@paulsradiohacks They don't make them anymore to my knowledge. Someone threw it away years ago. I didn't know they made anything like that. I had thought to send it back for repairs but I didn't.
