I’m a social worker and it’s so sad that this happened. Unfortunately it’s very common. Soooo many families adopt kiddos and as soon as the behavioral issues start, they give up the child. A lot of times, people adopt a special needs child and then once the child gets older, 13-16 yrs old, again they give them up. It’s horrible how common it is. It’s not an every day thing but it happens 😞

Discusting movie for me. Glorification of female pedophilia, dessed as a starvehivcle for two ageing actresses. The best thing about May December is that Natalie Portman is becoming a real actress now when she gets older. She is now really acting and not just a peace of wood with legs like in her youth. Perhaps she will earn her many awards now with real acting and not just with sensationalism. Seems to me that his role is what Natalie Portman would have become if she never would have met George Lucas or Mike Nichols.

I guess it didn't seem malicious at 1st b/c they themselves didn't know how they would spin the story. They wanted to adopt for the views from the beginning and needed time to frame the content to the audience once the child was home with them. To rehome a kid because the parents didn't want to deal with the child is absurd. Adopting meant temporary for them, I have no idea how their other kid is growing up

Did they all really deserve it for securing a baby that killed 3 doctors at birth? You cant just let that out into the world, and you need to understand its limits Doesnt make it right, but what would you do better?

Dune was SO GOOD DUNE 2 Was SOo good !!!!! I went back and watched the original 1983 version post finishing up the second movie , and I have to say - I have rarely seen a remake that I thought was better than the original… dune did that

Thanks for your insightful review! I just finished binge-watching this series. It was a really interesting show. I could relate to the main character a bit, being someone who's not conventionally attractive. It's tough to live in society when you don't fit in the way you want to. The show touched on so many other subjects too, like intergenerational trauma, DV, and bullying. Ultimately it was very dark and hard to watch in some parts. But I enjoyed the journey.

As an 80s Yalie, I found it curious that many in the populace, including Pres. Bart Giamatti (Paul's father), looked past self-segregated Jewish, Asian, WASP tables to question the goings-on at the Black table. No one ever asked why the white kids all sat together.

Listen people! The thing I have the most problem with is everybody’s MOTIVE? When you get caught up in a cult, are you not free to read the Bible for yourself! ???? The documentary is very one side I have been following this story for a while. Miranda and her husband have a very different story. The parents were mad at her for her relationship to James they were mad because he was broke and black. The person who helped and pushed for this documentary is being sued for like the 5th time because she lies and defamation people. I highly recommend people at least listening to Miranda and James side.
