There iş very big downside about your review. You confess the turkish van cats and van cats are two diffrent breeds. And turkish van cats are hybrid breed. So surely there iş no point telli the People about the myths and history of these cats. These cats are not the ones you tell. And their personalities are so much different. I naturally know these difference becouse i accompanied van cats all my life.they are nothing like you describe. So evet the majör cat association doesnt recognize our cats, we love them and they love their families like there iş no tomorrow. So we are very happy together and we dont recognize the majör cat association back.

I’ve had my Bombay for 2 years. No surprises in the video. But the Ukrainian refugee who gave her to us didn’t speak the local language and my wife understood Russian Blue. But Sparks is most certainly a Bombay. I just watch these videos to confirm what I see, play with, feed and cuddle with (well she cuddles with me). She makes the rules. I often say she is a dog in a cat body. Also of the many cats I’ve owned, she is by far the most intelligent.

My cat is now 18 yr old and yowls alot demands food and wakes me up at early hours sometimes never satisfied with being fed will still meow but seems confused when he walks into a room. Hes spends less time outside unless i am outside with him in warm weather. One thing he vocalises more about now is his litter box when he has solied or wet the box he meows to let me know so I can clean this up straight away, he uses the litter tray more rather than go out. I assume that he has some form of cat dementia / confusion as his eating habits seem fine. I find this frustrating and trying to be patient with him he gets lots of affection from me and likes to lay on my knee while im watching TV I guess we keep each other warm during winter. His extra loud meows is due to loosing most of his hearing he also makes chirping nosies when I approach or startel him.

My Bombay was found on the streets by my friend who works security. Fortunately, she never saw the inside of a shelter, but so many beautiful Bombays do. Please adopt; there’s no feeling like it 🐈‍⬛❤️

I have a snowshoe that came to my door crying to get out of the sleet, & snow, and while i let her back out in case she was someone's kitty, she kept returning so i took her in and here we are years later enjoying our time together with the little 3 week old abandoned tuxedo she insisted we bring in from under the abandoned house next door.

Humans are NOT hardwired to meet eachother's gaze (at least not more so than cats).. It's a learned trait.... Have you ever been in conflict with a kid/preteen?.. have you noticed how they constantly tries to avoid eye-contact?.. YOU may get pissed off and think that it is them trying to avoid taking responsibility, or not treating you with proper attention and respect but they are LITERALLY exhibiting the HARDWIRED behaviour of humans.. or.. ANY other ape.. to meet someone's gaze IS usually more of a challenge than anything else.. the fact that we think it means anything else is 100% socio-cultural as in we are being told this during the entirety of our formative years until we take eye cantact as if it is somet form of "holy cow" deal.. NO!.. IF there is a conflict the human natural instinct is to be UNCOMFORTABLE with eye contact.. because that IS a challenging behaviour even in humans.. And in case you want to compare with cats.. My cat OFTEN want to meet my eyes.. you wanna know why?.. because there is actually a difference between what relationship already exist, what energy is already in the room, and other things.. so.. yes.. she WANTS to gaze lovingly in my eye.. and unless she gets to meet my eye she can't do some OTHER things cats do to show affection with their eyes.. like.. the slow blink.. or a fast one eye blink.. or a half blink.. Those only have meaning if they are communicating with a specific person.. It's not the eye contact ALONE that say what it is about, it's the energy in the room. having your shoulders down, moving slowly, etc when meeting a cat's gaze.. to NOT have wide opened eyes, but very "relaxed and half opened eyes.. means something else than other types of eye contact.. and if we discuss instinct.. we humans have the EXACT same instinct.. that is why people with autism often find eye contact so uncomfortable; Because their instinct is what guides their stress-levels. We.. humans.. are NOT built.. to meet eachother's gaze, ESPECIALLY in times of conflict.. you are f*g up your relationship with your kid if there IS a conflict.. and.. you decide to NOT go through the process and IGNORE the ACTUAL conflict to INSTEAD just CONSTANTLY try to FORCE them to lock eyes with you... you are harming them.. you are making a bad situation worse.. and they will absolutely NOT learn anything from you trying to rectify them.. and this is true for teenagers as well.. them not meeting your gaze and seeming a bit aloof is their way to defend their own mental state and avoid undue state.. they are LITERALLY showing that they are bending to your authority by doing this.. focus on what MATTERS, don't invent other problems just to make a bad situation worse, it will NOT solve ANYTHING.

Cats do two types of blink - the two eye slow blink, but also a 'wink' with one eye. My gorgeous girl would do that to ask 'Are we OK?' after she had gone a little to far with her behaviour. She was a little bit spicy, and would occasionally hiss at me for no apparent reason. It idn't bother me - I would just look at her and say "Oh.. really.." - One more thing about cats if they are shy, shut down or have been mistreated, like my lovely girl I adopted over 14 years ago and who had been handed in twice, was although I was kneeling and she was in the back of her enclosure, was to speak softly and put my hand on the floor of her enclosure and not reach to pat the top of her head. She leaned forward, sniffed my hand then licked my nose. Then she turned her back to eat some food - which was extremely trusting of her. Obviously I adopted her. she was about 5 when I adopted her and she passed away in Feb this year.. I miss her with every fibre of my being.

Both are awesome, I had more fun with my male cat. He was a rebel and a word I won’t say. Fun to watch him annoy the other cats😊

We adopted a kitten a year ago that we now believe is an Egyptian Mau cross. She has the dorsal line, large ears, mascara and tilted eyes, spots on her back that are on on the top of the hairs, long neck, long tail, and the characteristic longer back legs. She does have white paws, which are probably from the cross. We noticed she looked different as she grew into an adult. She has now since had a set of kittens and several of them have spots. One thing I noticed about these kittens is they jumped like they had springs in their feet. At 7 weeks they could jump nearly two feet high. We couldn't keep them in a welping box meant for puppies once they realized they could jump toward the top and pull themselves over the edge. Momma cat has the unusual habit of bringing me her favorite toys. When I throw them she runs and fetches them. She's done this in the middle of the night, dropping her toy on the bed.

I flipped a coin and heads it was. Yes I am taking the kitten. I named her Sasha after Obama's younger daughter. She loves climbing trees and as a kitten she would go up higher than I thought she would be able to come down from so I was climbing the tree or getting a ladder to help her out of the tree. Or, I should say, I thought I was helping. I always let my female cats have one litter. Okay, it usually turns out to be more than just one. I find it makes for a better over cat if they has at least one litter. I never have a problem finding good homes. So I let Sasha have a litter of kittens. There were 5 but the first one was not fully formed so just 4 were born alive. As the kittens got a little older and we took them outside, they too loved to climb trees. One day Willie and Sandy were chasing each other and Sandy chased Willie up a tree. I was standing in the yard watching and Sasha was to my right, laying in the grass. Sandy came down out of the tree and Willie appeared to be having trouble figuring out how to get down. I took one step forward to help him and Sasha ran in front of me and facing me, she jumped up in the air. She knew I was headed to help him and she didn't want me to. She wanted him to figure it out for himself, and he did.

I've had 7 cats during my lifetime, 5 male, 2 female (I mostly prefer the male cats which is why I have more, the male cats seem to be more friendly as this video confirms given their more regular close proximity to humans and such). But yeah this is mostly right, I can't think of anything I disagree with. One of my female cats too, one time sniffed out my mom's burger from mcdonalds in her purse. Got the burger out, it was one of those ones wrapped in paper, not the kind in a little box. unwrapped the burger, took the beef out, ate it, either put the bun back on or got the beef without the bun falling off, and somewhat wrapped the paper back up. The only reason we knew the cat did it was because she didn't put the burger back in the purse, and we saw crumbs. Sometimes, when your pet does something 'bad' you can't even be mad at them just because you're proud of them instead lol. But yeah, never had another cat do something so...sophisticated, which also confirms your part about mimicking human behavior/problem solving at the end for females.

My boy acts like a girl. Tails me. Sleeps by my feet and doesnt like to be touched until I ignore him then HE might want rubs 😅

I have brother/ sister pair. I’ve had them since 7 weeks. Both have had their surgery. He is my lap cat. She sleeps on the foot stool.

We have 2 female cats, both calicos. One, Rex, Empress of All She Surveys, is a classic calico. The other, Rover Box Pants (Princess Kitty of Love), is a dilute calico. Rex is a talker who demands everything. If the water dishes aren’t exactly full to her specifications, she meows until one of us fills them, for example. Rover rarely makes a sound, just takes advantage of Rex’s vocalizations. Both cats are extremely affectionate. Rover is my daughter’s lap cat. Rex curls up on my chest, over my heart. ♥️💙💖

My main cat is a female tabby. She is quite the tomboy. a bit rough but is a very affectionate little thing. Loves to lay on me or next to me. She was abandoned at my house as a kitten. When I brought her in she was immediately bonded to my mom's male cat who basically mothered her. I now have two rescues, a male and female litter mates. They are not yet fixed. I have them and my tabby separated but able to see, smell and hear each other until they are acquainted. I had a little calico female who knew how to get into the treat jar.

One thing male and female cats have in common is they are GROSS when unfixed.

My 2 females follow me around the house a lot. Rub against my legs and want to be involved in everything I do. One’s a black cat and the other a tuxedo. Litter sisters.

My female cat is much better at hunting then my boy cats. But she is also the most affectionate

Got my boy from the shelter as well. He’s an amazing companion. Always getting compliments. Each time we got to the vet for routine visits, they always comment on how handsome he is. I’m so grateful to have such a sweet soul in my life. Very smart as well. I do have to de-shed him often. Small price to pay.

My black kitten is approximately 15 weeks old now; Charlie is a neutered male who is physically affectionate and follows me EVERYWHERE. If the comforter makes just one crinkle sound, Charlie has already hit the floor, ready to move when I move, ready to go where I go. He's never said "No" to me even once. I'm retired now, so Charlie and I spend all our days together. Right now his front paws are on my head, in my hair, as he lounges atop two pillows on the horizontal axis.....

I have 2 females and one male all of themvery,very loving. In fact one has seperation anxiety, she screams when she can't find you.

I had a female cat who eventually died from a urinary infection, and she'd had similar problems for years before that. Before I got two sister cats some years ago, I did read up a lot. I now have several drinking spots spread around my apartment, and although I mix their food half&half between Royal Canine cat food designed to prevent urinary problems and normal shop-bought cat food, and mixing in the cat-treats that they somehow never bother with anyway (...), my current pair of cats have never, ever been sick so far. Fingers crossed that will continue!
