The first scene where he’s manic working as a bartender and Lip and Debbie are just confused and concerned is really accurate. That’s how it feels interacting with someone who is manic
My friend had bipolar 1 and he would get so drunk he developed low blood pressure and would pass out and go into shock, he eventually committed suicide.
Ian fighting Mickeys dad wasn’t a moment, Mickey announced out loud he was gay and Mickeys dad got mad and decided to fight him, then Ian joined in to help.
Depression and paranoia and false sense of confidence are the perfect way to sum it up. As I suffer myself, I would not recommend using drugs. They will not affect you the same way.
Ian and mickey were best friends in real life. They loved their relationship on screen. So did i. They make a great couple. Mickey was the only one that could help him and the only one who had patents for him.
I hate what the writers did to Ian's character. Not the bo-polar storyline but turning him into a liberal activist. Ian was introduced as a patriot who loved his country. He fell in love with a Nazi but somehow they turned him into an Antifa styled activist who starts sleeping with trans men.
Oh boo hoo. Who would have thought a gay kid didn’t like homophobes. You realize people can be more than one thing? Being a patriot means you stand up when you see something happening that’s unfair. It actually shows how people get swept up into stuff like that.
@@NotALiberalSoSkipTheScript I think you're missing the point. He went from a patriot to a liberal activist who was in love with a Nazi. He contradicted himself with his "stop the hate Gay Jesus" storyline
It’s so weird how the barely acknowledges that Mickey was a nazi. The most attention it’s given is when Ian leaves to join the army and Mickey says that Svetlana had him take it down.
Yep. Bipolar people usually have a “special person”. I don’t know if it’s that though. It would be nice to be able to trust people. But if everything sucks then you can’t really do that anymore can you? I don’t recognise this place anymore either. Where is Vulcan? Where have everyone’s brains gone? Was everyone really that mentally weak and self-centred? Were these people always this stupid? Was I overestimating their abilities? lol life has a sense of humour dosent it? Live laugh love HA HA HA
@@venyaprasad that doesnt really change my point honestly. Only difference between the 2 really is length of cycling. I mean i would know i live with it.
@@aaronparrish659 if you have not realised BIPOLAR is very different in everyone no bipolar is *normal* there is differences and how high and low people get ect , just because YOU dont does not mean thats how it is for everyone , if you have it im surprised you dont know this - people have done some WILD shit being manic state and sometimes you cant connect with them when they go into a manic psychosis episode , and dont BE LIKE OH AND I WOULD KNOW .... you sound like a fxcking douche bag
It’s cut off here, but I’m pretty sure Fiona says “it’s Bipolar disease” instead of “it’s Bipolar disorder”. I thought that was a nice touch. It subtly showed they knew what was wrong, but they may not know the specifics.
My sister has bi polar so was scary when ian started showing the same signs i can understand a couple symptoms i have manic depressive episodes where i can go from happy to screaming to trying to off myself
this makes me so sad he depicted bipolar in such a good way the way he just rambled and rambled and switched from one topic to the next eventually running out of things to talk about.. he’s not present to process his emotions and he always on the move with so many plans ahhh the manic phase..

im so sorry
I think ians bibolar was worse than his mother's 💀.
At least he didn't make a baby during his episodes.
I disagree
Showtime seems to do a nice job with depicting bipolar. Ian here and Carrie in Homeland.
That bar fight scene was more just backing Mickey up and adrenaline
Holy shit, thats Troy Mckinzey
I have bipolar disorder I know what it’s like
This is how I sound to others sometimes🤦🏽♂️
3:58 Palpatine: DO IT! Ian/cal kestis:……
I have bpd 2 so mine are never this bad that must suck :(
bd
This was so realistic... My sister and one of my best friends are both BiPolar and I saw so many similarities it was scary.
Ian fighting Mickeys dad wasn’t a moment, Mickey announced out loud he was gay and Mickeys dad got mad and decided to fight him, then Ian joined in to help.

As a Healthcare worker who works in an acute mental health setting, this is the state my patients come to us in.
1:52 “do you want a sandwich!😄”
whoa this show is old, 😂😂😂😂 video says 10 years ago.
10?!? years ago?!???
Manic people are hard to fight
“JESUS LEAVE ME ALONE!” ….. I felt that one 💔

Theis is very really. How. Sad

Im not gonna lie every episode he had made me cry bc my mom is bipolar very bad
I don’t think the scene where he beats up Terry is an episode. He seems too in control during and after
Ian's Bipolar is exactly the same as Monica's. It was very energetic at first and then zero energy. Luckily, Ian is not suicidal.
wasn't shown to be
Man I miss Shameless. Kinda dropped in quality a bit the last couple of seasons, but when it was good, man was it great
This is so realistic…the ups and downs…the constant toe walking around the person…😢
I wish my manic episodes were fun like this.
4:37 I am not here, I'm a fuzzy cloud, shit isn't getting out of hand because I am not here
Ten years ago I’m gonna cry I love this show
La verdad ese vato sí me sacó de onda después de que empezó con ese comportamiento, lo cual reflejalo lo bien que actuó su papel.
PJ loves Queen Coghasa
I have been watching these videos and now I’ve been getting ads about bipolar things
5:34 lol felt that

that's bpd...not bipolar
Love his acting during these scenes, amazing acting and actor 😍😍👏👏👏
This was 10 years ago exactly today❤
The actor portrays it really well especially with his eyes
the manic in this is supe exaggerated from a actual bp 2 person.
He has bp 1

no???

these are all different episodes but i think during season 4-7
I felt bad for Ian when he found he was bipolar he was worried he would end up like his mom.
