TD-3-MO + RD-8 + Deepmind 12 (with a bit of Model D LFO) Acid Jam. PLAY THIS LOUDLY
Finals are over and I found a few minutes to jam out. The TD-3-MO takes center stage with some help from the Model D LFO patched in. RD-8 on the beat and Deepmind 12 with Sci-Fi goodness. I know...it's not a proper recording, but still hits when loud.

Micro Theremin from eBay or Amazon or..
Просмотров 21 тыс.2 года назад
I received this as a gift with an Amazon gift receipt, so it's definitely from Amazon but I can't seem to find it there, though I've seen it on eBay. I'm guessing it's probably on those Chinese services too. It does have a stereo headphone 3.5mm output jack so you could probably record directly out through a preamp or something. It's USB C connection for power.
A perfect Xmas gift for the children of those friends that you secretly hate.😂
Very small range of work, Thanks for the review!!!
Anyone find that theres make a low white noise hiss ehen u plug it into something? Like a mixer or another machine.
Is there midi?
R2 D2 Translator
Has it midi out or in?
No
How does it perform with a larger antenna? These things are now under $40 shipped so I'm tempted. Also it's spelled timbre but pronounced "tamber". Timber is wood.
I need this to scare off mice and bats
Does it have a earphone jack so that the sound goes to your earphones instead? Or atleast some thing where you can plug in a headset or something so that the sound only comes through your earphones or headset?
Yeah there's a headphone jack on the bottom right corner of it.
Shoot, i only have bluetooth here. Hm.
it does have a jack. I have found that using the built in speaker I cannot get any sound from some of the instruments. It seems that anything with an * in front of it doesn't work with the built in speaker. If I can find a 'plug in' speaker I will see if that helps. As it is, I am rather disappointed.
Awesome jam sound, greetings from Ibiza. 👍🎶
It does like a synth 😊
Help me decide - should I buy this thing, or wait for the Stylophone Theramin to come out?
Buy this, it's only US$35 👍 If you don't like it, sell it for the same price ...
I've just ordered one, for that price, it's worth a punt!
Stylophone theremin is never coming out anyway...
@@ocean_monster1 Yeah, ive been waiting forever. It's pretty annoying. Every few months theyll just send an email promising news soon.
@@ocean_monster1it’s out now
i find that the entire sweep of the pitch happens within a centimeter of movement of your finger near the antenna - is there a way to change settings so you would have to move your finger or hand a larger distance to go through the entire pitch range? because as it is, it's nearly impossible to control actual notes with this thing.
Thats what puts me off this, i think you need an expensive one to get more range
Yes,there should be a range selector somewhere on that thing.
Got mine a few days ago and by experimenting I found that getting the pitch antenna away from the theramin helps. I used 2 audio adaptors that I already had, a 3.5mm to 6.5mm into the theramin, a 6.5mm to 3.5mm into the 1st adaptor, and the theramin antenna into the second. The adaptors were just mono and worked fine. They move the antennae 3" (75mm) to the right and now the pitch only changes when my hand is within 8" (20cm). The distance between notes decreases the closer your hand gets to the antenna for the higher pitches, so the lower couple of octaves are more controllable. I'm having fun with it.
Got mine a few days ago its great,.
I just ordered one of these today, I like the chaotic sound of it! I think I’ll be able to use it professionally! Thank you for the video!
I gotta hear what your idea of you using it professionally sounds like.
me too
Does it have a 1/4" or 1/8" output jack? How would you connect it to an amp?
3.5mm jack
It's a 3.5? I've never heard of that. Is there a 1/4" adapter for a 3.5?@@suprlite
@@jameslanclos568yes, most electronic stores carry them
@@jameslanclos568In the history of man there are three audio jack sizes 2.5mm, 3.5mm & 6.5mm. Why don't you use this new thing called Google to learn about them ?
@@jameslanclos5683.5=1/8
this video helped me figure out how to make mine work, thanks so much!
Hi, have you been a bit further with it? What do you thing of it after some time spent on it?
not since I got a Moog Theremini. I still have this, I should play with it
@old_romans have you done any more with this? Tomorrow I will see how the puppy reacts. But I plan to set it up for the piano sound while I learn to play it. I see it have a save function too once I find the sound I want.

Apparently maker says has 70 different sounds. Did you find how to select those? I assume it's either under TIMBRE or the Select Sine wave function????
Yes, Exactly...I should do another video going over that. I'm going to run through preamp first and record the audio straight to the DAW. The sounds are decent, though not sure how musical it can actually be. I'm just starting on RUclips, so please bear with.
One of the best affordable Theramin is the "Open Theramin v4" from Gaudi, in Switzerland
@@20x25 not really since you still need a freaking Arduino. And you cannot even get the OpenTheremin kits anywhere, let alone the boards. Especially when you have no credit card or freaking pay pal.... That basically leaves no any other real option except for this chinese ittle thing here that you can actually GET.
I expect the unit in the video here is a knockoff of the one of the "open source" theremins. Maybe replacing the telescopic antennas with more traditional antennas would improve the playability. @@20x25
I was playing around with mine and in the timbre setting there is an extended menu with various sounds. I plan to fiddle with it tomorrow unless it uosets the puppy too much.
Looking for one!
