Just like the old times.
Playing this as a kid with no Internet, no strategy guide, no Nintendo Power magazine, not even a game genie; to make it this far is truly an achievement.
One of my favorite NES video games. Great music leading up to Dracula. But the final fight was a disappointment. I remember beating Dracula and saying…that’s it? Regardless, a fun game! Countless hours spent playing this game in the late 80s and early 90s.
I just finished this game without save states for the first time yesterday. I uploaded the drac fight to my youtube. The first form is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult than the second unless you dont take a double or triple holy water into part 2. Easy to get by using the holy water on dracs fireballs in form 1.
The Adventures of Bayou Billy NES
i'd just fuck up the cat with a baseball bat. Horrible creatures... cats fans are even worse
I usually use the diamond. I have used flames before among other things.
You hit Dracula 35 times.
Dracula's tombstone says 1431-76. The intro sequence to Castlevania 3 clearly states in the intro that it also takes place in 1476. So apparently they keep re-burying him in the same gravesite he's been in since Trevor, Sypha, Grant, and Alucard put him in all the way back in 1476. You'd think at some point the Belmonts would go "This shit isn't working...let's dump his ass in the middle of the ocean somewhere."
Wouldn't matter as of SotN. The canon has worked around to the point where the soul of Dracula (the dragon, let's not forget) lies at the heart of the cosmos, entwined with the very roots of our world like Jormungandr. Dracula has bound all creatures of evil and chaos to his service; his power rivals and arguably exceeds that of Satan himself. We can't even nuke Dracula at this point, unless we also do some r&m shit to make it stick.
You are a psycho for allowing this to happen and provoking it to happen just for you to record it and get pleasure from it was called a sociopath.
Overall the game was great, but Dracula was way too easy. Can beat him the golden knife quite easily as well. How did they miss this when designing the game ?!
Great game. I don't remember how long it took me to figure out the flames, but it was probably the easiest final boss I ever beat. I looked this up because I was trying to remember the music in the final level.
I agree: great game!
I don't know people keep saying this game is difficult. I used to beat it regularly when I was a kid.The boomerang is the key. ;)
love this
Thats great how hes still got Draculas rib and suposedly just used it to re-assemble Dracula
the easiest final boss
Seems simple enough
This game rocks and Xenoblade 2 SUCKS
Sypha Belnades was my favorite character to play with in Castlevania 3 - Dracula's Curse.
The return to Dracula's castle freaked me out as a kid playing it the first time. The familiar columns and walls from Level 1 of the original Castlevania, only now in ruins from its destruction at the end of the first game, now revealing the overgrown trees on the outside. The complete lack of enemies and the eerie music only heard here was enough to put me on edge. This combined with constantly going down made one feel like they were descending into the bowels of Hell itself. Once you take that leap of faith, there is no turning back. ... ... It's just too bad Dracula is a pushover in this game.
Thank God for save states in the ps4 anniversary collection edition of this game
Is it okay if i use this in a meme video please?
You know what I realized? Dracula’s 2nd form was the exact final form as in Rondo of Blood & in the beginning from Symphony of the Night.
Yeah , Dracula likes using that form alot when things aren't going his way .
Meet the sane Pyro everybody
it's sad that Dracula can be killed so easy on this one ... awesome getting a good ending dude ^^ (i could never do that) lol
2:08
It was so haunting olaying this at 8 and after slogging so long you get to a castle with this creepy music... and its empty... first time you fight drac you dont realize you can stun lock him so it was a hard fight
Great music some of the best on nes especially this final castle better than ducktales I think
Great job, vampire killer!
Great RNG. By the way, what's the tell that he's going to do a high jump? Is it the face?
The legs.
damn, u knew the best way to beat him but you slow as fuck :/
2:25 That's where the curse began, unto part II: Simon's Quest.. Thats why the music didn't sound too happy The sunrises but Dracula left with the last laugh. Simon being cursed with nightly pains and such.
even though you beat him in like 20 seconds he has a really good sprite
Nah, I’m calling shenanigans on video. I’ve tried this about 100 times and EVERY TIME he reappears it’s right on top of me leaving me with no time to react. Somehow this dude managed to play the version where he reappears in perfect striking distance? Nope.
it did appear on top of him a lot of times.
Think that might be due to sprite flickering.
I am sorry but am i the only one who thinks first battle style of dracula is harder than the second?
Castlevania the first game I don't know it's no good
God this stage pissed me off when I was 10 in 1990 I guess the name of the anoying song pressure is appropriate
Would the holy water give an advantage? I always thought cross was best.
Yes,the holy water is better because it freezes Dracula's second form on the spot leaving a short window in which you can hit him twice. I personally think that the holy water is more useful against Dracula because his first form is easy if you know the pattern so you don't need the cross but the holy water is a must if you want to beat the second form easily
Wow!!! All this time I’ve underestimated Sylpha Belnades, Yoko’s great ancestor. This game was notoriously difficult on the NES, but I finally reached Dracula after like 2 years of practice, and killed him alone with daggers and my whip; barely making it outta Castlevania alive and with my life hanging by a thread. I should’ve never underestimated her; her hellfire must be oxyacetylene blowtorch quality, with that kind of damage. Lesson learned!!! Aside from all that jazz; If you wanna save yourself frustrations, few strands of hair, your controllers, and your knuckles and skull; play this game on a laptop. Legally tho!!!
O vaya Un vídeo muy antiuo
Well it's a good thing she's feeling more comfortable with herself
They make it look easy, but this is the Japanese version, not the American version, we're dracula aims his fireballs
I just finished it! In Stage 18, Hitting Drac’s head with the whip is nearly impossible unless you time the jump to the split-second. I wanted to try the Holy Water on Demon Drac but I couldn’t survive that long with just the Holy Water. Plus, if you get the Holy Water you’re locked into the final battle and can’t collect anymore hearts. So I used the Holy Cross. Going down and up the stairs respawns the candles so you can collect mad hearts (I’d usually get 50 before fighting Drac) and get both weapon boosts. Just before you take on the Prince of Darkness hit the candle containing the Holy Water and let it expire. Then just start jumping and throwing the Holy Cross, all the while being on the move and keeping out of Dracula’s way and avoiding those fireballs. I found it easier to jump and throw the cross while turned away from Dracula. I stayed alive much longer that way, and the crosses will eventually wear him down since they travel in two directions. When Drac loses his head face Demon Drac directly and employ the jump-&-throw technique while avoiding the fireballs. When Demon Drac gets close to you run under him QUICKLY when he jumps. Run to the far side of the screen and continue the assault. With a little luck you’ll beat him after a few passes across the screen.
Can't make it past the death the grim reaper
Try this: first, have the cross. It's better than the axe because it'll help destroy the sickles. The axe doesn't help much with them. Second focus on the sickles movement. If you just try to whip death, the sickles will get you. If you try to dodge the sickles and always have a cross flying on the street, it'll help clean the way and also hit the boss. Every other time hit him with the whip
Ok imma try that , playing on my Xbox one
Why the fuck do they give you Holy Water for Dracula?
To freeze Dracula’s second form?
You lack the guts to face Dracula!
El vato habla español curioso no?
