Oof the Asian mom really jumped out 🥴 This is one of the only times I’m team belly. Hitting your kids is never okay and despite me being able to give Laurel grace for not knowing how to deal with her own grief and struggling to open up about it, Belly getting angry at Laurel for neglecting her feelings is valid. She spent the entire year fearing Susannah’s death and when things go sideways for her grades/volleyball, she gets told by her mother, “I’m disappointed in you,” which is such a harmful thing to say. I will say though, the slap is deserved for messing with the boys’ feelings lol
