I know ScotRail are still using them, but not on InterCity routes. The last InterCity route was the final CrossCountry HST on 18/09/23. Filmed in various locations like York, Cardiff, Belford and Kirkb...

    Not only am I no fan of Pacers but also no fan of Sprinters either - for different reasons! I went to school on Class 143 Pacers when they were new in 1985 at Newcastle, and I think my first memory of a Class 142 Pacer was at Carlisle Upperby depot open day in 1986 (From memory). I see the 143s are now screeching and bouncing their way around Cardiff nowadays, together with a surfeit of 142s - plus the odd Class 37 or two!

    • @john-of-the-north
      @john-of-the-north 5 лет назад

      Ben Brooks I did not know that. I thought the ban on Pacers (when they called the Class 142s in the south west ‘Skippers’) was your lucky escape but clearly they have sneaked the Railbus sort of train back in. I am guessing that is GWR - whose livery I must confess to loving.
