Doug and Addison respond to questions about Esser at the district level
I’m crying because I have to do it and I have a speech problem so it makes it 10x harder for me
🤟🏾South Carolina gesture *proposed 🤙🏽 Off. Hawaiian gesture
This guy is a tool.
Congrats, Addison. The best part: systems management.
I wanted to bring attention to the public and a person experience with Shaylia McRae. My son has been struggling in the Hillsborough school district and I recently reached out to many administrators and finally to Mrs Shaylia McRae! I requested an IEP for months with no success. Finally today the district conducted a hearing without my son and I with a final decision to remove my disabiled son from traditional school in to a nontraditional environment pleaged with violence and 15% success rate. I’m disappointed and disappointed at this system and leadership. But I will continue to fight and protect my disabled son! Shaylia McRae has not lived up to nothing she has stated.
He has given himself multiple raises for doing nothing (correction: he has making DPS much WORSE). Where is the new and improved Discipline Matrix? What busses? He doesn't listen to parents, has removed some of the BEST of the BEST principals from the most highly rated schools, is anti-Innovation. He NEEDS TO GO NOW. Hence all the "Resign Morrero" yard signs showing up all around Denver. Take a hint and LEAVE.
Unfortunately, Dr. Marrero has not done some of the things he claims he has. Maybe our bus situation is better than other cities (I don't know), but high school students are using city public transportation to get to school, some schools have no or limited bus service, and Title I schools are paying $277 per bus. He claimed that more students are graduating than ever before, but that's not the case -- since the pandemic yes, but not ever. The gap in black and Hispanic students is widening, not narrowing. Honestly, as a Denver resident, I wish he would spend less time doing these interviews and more time actually listening to parents, teachers, and students. He has yet to step foot in the school my kid goes to in SW Denver (an underserved area).
Well, that's for my school in North Dakota. City of minot
It's a dumb AI Teachers make us do. But it really doesn't help. It just makes us mad
It doesn't help because. There is words I know. And don't know The words I know it says I got wrong. In the words I really don't know says I Get them right. And she can't listen at all that's why I don't like it
Help
No it doesn't
Imagine if we treated teachers like they were building the world of tomorrow and gave them the respect and compensation that comes with that….it might actually convince people that spending 30 years getting talked back to, spending out of pocket money for supplies, having difficult conversations with uncaring and unkind parents, breaking up fights, chaperoning dances, making seasonal posters…and a million other things with no thank you was worth it
That was already happening in when I was in school and I graduated in 2018.
Didn't you hear? The military badly needs recruits! Of course they don't want people succeeding after school, they want kids turning to them instead. Smoke and mirrors, it's all theatre.
The cycle starts with the teacher saying "you should have learned that last year so were moving on"
the cycle starts with the Parent
Oi, oi!
Wait why is she parading as Summit CEO? Wasn’t she forced out for failing and having lost huge amounts of money?
Maybe if we stopped being 50 squabbling children and acted as one country in regards to education things would be different. But then again, no one is going to give you the education to overthrow them. That's the bottom line of our high school education.
😈 Promo sm
Con man! Quintin is a #wingnut
His school district, Victoria ISD is bottom 14% in the state! How in the world does this qualify him Superintendent of the year?
Defund public education. It is a failed system getting worse.
How about doing something about a widely accepted curriculum that is only as effective as the test you're teaching.
Like shop classes and mechanics classes in high school? What a novel idea
Why are we not even ranked top 50 in education and yet we spend the most money? We have under 30% of students proficient in math and reading. 30% and you want a raise? Money is why most kids are idiots coming out of school? They sure know all about genders and being a victim.. that's for sure. Imagine doing a job 30% correctly and taking a pay raise. Only in the government. A entire rework needs to be done but this wont happen so lets do another "tax increase in schools" because that will work for the dozenth time.
The best and brightest college grads flee Oklahoma for neighboring states who actually pay teachers a livable wage. Oklahoma is nowhere near the top of states in education funding. Where did you make up that number from?
It's all about the money boys!
You must be able to fire teachers as well. The bad ones need to get weeded out and the teachers knew unions need to go bye-bye
Raise taxes and actually fund meaningful teacher wages.
Or let the market determine what wages should be while the federal gov spends less to ease debt
Raise taxes? Are you high? Taxes are at record numbers already. Lets balance the budget, reduce spending and then find the money. Surely not sending another 80 billion off oversea could help.. right?
@@bobshanery5152 Oklahoma taxes are not at record highs. Do you even live here? Oklahoma is at the bottom of the states in every type of ranking, including education. The six figure salaries this idiot is exposing has no funding from the state to go with it, and it’s only for a few teachers. That will do nothing to help the brain drain that is occurring when it comes to education in our state.
Bullshit. The state isn’t funding these raises. It’s an unfunded “mandate”. Oklahoma places zero value in the education of our students.
Except when your manager doesn't do their job correctly because they aren't willing to understand the job. You should always be open to more knowledge and a different point of view. Don't be okay with not knowing. Especially if you are in charge of managing a group of people.
I'm glad I taught my kids to know that their are companies who will pay your schooling, do what you love and working hard you can make money being happy, my son is a diesel mechanic, my daughter owns multiple businesses, and my other son now starting his landscaping business, so really I feel teaching your kids simple fundamentals of life is most important!
Maybe they are interested in slightly more challenging work while stuck in government mandated schooling, but once they aren't forced to take the classes anymore, they choose an income over a six figure debt.
And then people vote for people who will defund any and all program that does any of this because "bootstraps" and such
The issue being there isn't enough money in rural districts to compete with wages in bigger districts. Didnt really hear a solution to the issue she wants to fix.
Maybe because it's a short ? I'm sure she has a full video somewhere. Even if she isn't at least she is aware of the corruption. Usually solutions require conversation amongst many not just 1 person.
Redistribute that BIG CITY LEECHING taxpayers money away to Flyover country. The problem IS Democrat run school boards suck it ALL UP, the unions take All The money & use it to support DEMOCRATS to keep power over WHAT AGENDA THEY WANT PUSHED. THEY'RE THIEVES. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
Sounds like a conservative to me!
Are they talking about voting? To identify areas thart aren't in line with their beliefs. Then sending in funding or troops?
Excited to watch the future of education and the impact social emotional learning will have on society.
It is definitely something we are watching too!
He didn't say anything about math English science....that's telling
Thank you, Adam - very insightful conversation!
