Yes, we don’t have an issue with cooking at the campground we went to (rivernook), the only issue we had was the ants (big red ants) around the campfire and tents, we had to buy ant spray and spray it around our tents. Cause our dog got bit by the ants.

Yes NR 11 and 12, but you can only put 3 tents per site. NR 12 is the biggest site. So We put 6 tents on NR 12 on the first night, but the office called and told us we have to move the other 3 on the other site.

Oh wow so they really are strict? What about canopy for shade? Is there a limit?

@@kgee562 yup, they’re kinda strict with the rules. Probably , because it was fully booked that day and people are asking for the other site if it’s available. About the canopy they didn’t say anything.

Hi Aldoobie! Thank you for watching! We freeze our food (meats), in advance. Even water bottles. We pack our cooler tightly, open the cooler as little as possible and keep the cooler out of the sun. Some campers use dry ice. You can also pre chill your cooler few hours before the trip like fill it with loose ice then when you’re ready to travel empty it and transfer the food. Yeti and igloo is a good brand too. Hope that helps :)

hi! i’ve been going camping for years now. trick is to add fresh ice everyday, rivernook has a on site small shop and they sell ice :-)

Jill, Thanks for the ice chest tops. Most people dont answer their fans here on comments. Went to "Upper" Kern for approximately 30 years 1963 to 1990. Growing all the way to my teens, my parents did all the work. Mom & dad were a great team!! We just enjoyed. Swam at day beach just north of Rivernook. Sandy beach, calm water no rapids. So many memories. Great times!!

They didn’t for us, I think ours are over weight and we got extra extra personal items on our way back to LA. They didn’t say anything. Just board early to get a spot (over head compartment) for your carry ons.
