Can these units be used as only a baseboard heat boiler and turn the DHW off

Where can the condensate tubing with vent be purchased? Just got the error code 20 and noticed my installer didn’t use the vented tubing - just hard pipe! So a link to the proper tubing would be very helpful

Water tubes are safer than fire tube! Very nice piece of equipment. Scariest experience of mine was finding a fire tub boiler that ran dry with a stuck float valve! First thing to do is cut the water feed clossest to boiler as possible. Cause if you cut the fire first, because you can get a thermal shock the releases the stuck float valve and "boom your dead!"

Very helpful. I had error 44 usually my drain plugged with white gunk but this time screen past blower (model 140) half blocked with bugs. Also noted the white gunk might be due to intake and exhaust being too close.

Bought and had it installed. But the manual is not as good at showing how to take things apart. Glad I found LAARS Combi on RUclips on how to take it apart but sort of know what to do. Would like it of you'd use a visible (thick enough to see what you're pointing to without blocking the exact screw you're removing and putting back together. POINTER like an antenna with a comedy pointer head would be perfect to show what you're talking about.

Hi mike did a cleaning on the larrs heating boiler . After cleaning I can’t seem to get a way from an error 40 . Gas leakage . I check out your video to see if I missed a gasket but seems like I didn’t. I’m ordering new gasket . Are you fimiliar with an issue like this? Do your top burner plates ever warp ?

Are you sure about using Rydlyme? When I checked their website, it doesn't list it as being safe on aluminum and the heat exchanger fins are aluminum are they not?

199 combo error code 11 ignition has failed 10 times. Checked the power from the 2 wires going to the ignitor transformer. Shows 16 to 18 volts not 120. They are sending a new board. Is there anything else that could cause this. Brand new boiler. Thank you

ive got this unit. with t stat unhooked and the circulation pump unplugged, it is still feeding hot water to the baseboards. is there a valve of some type allowing hot water to the baseboards?

I have a an indoor problem when it's really cold outside and it's about 57 degrees indoors and I take a space heater on the thermostat and it brought up the temp to 60 degrees and it only goes up 68 degrees

What a terrible design. 14 years in the field and this is one of worst. I dred days I need to service/pm these boilers.

Just picked one up for my parents home. I like the packaged low loss header. I usually make my own with Mechanical tees and a piece of pipe, but I opted for this cutie. I've installed 4 of these in my 22 years of plumbing/heating. Each time I've built a steel base with pipe and flanges as feet welded onto a 1/4" plate to raise it up off fhe floor and leveled by the flanges on the floor. For my parents, I opted for a Buderus horizontal indirect heater so i can sit the boiler on top. I don't need to make a base and will have more space in the boiler room for storage. Love Laars. Rathe Associates has classes on all their products if youre in the NYC area. Stay flowing Y'all.

Is there a major difference in the 199 models between the floor mount and the wall mount? I could do either one. Thank you.

I'm getting error code 80, water won't flow throughout the boiler. There's definitely water coming in, but it will not go out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Everything looks so easy when it's brand new and have extra hands. Great job on the video. Currently having an issue. Auto high limit. Replaced filter but still nothing. Pump runs but no call for heat. The unit is @ 130°. Aquastat is set for 165°. Target set at 175°. Low water cut off keeps blinking. Unit runs when I jump aquastat to manual reset but interlocks light stay on

I have error code 16, and a noise coming out of the internal pump ( sounds like something is loose inside) and it’s leaking at the connection to the 3 way valve. The DHW works just fine. When the pump screw is loosen, water is leaking though the pump ( not sure if this is normal). I have 2 of these units installed in February 2018, and since I never went through a winter without one of them having a issue in the worst day of the season. So far we replaced 1 control board, 2 3 way valves, a pump. It’s disappointing to say the least!

I need the meaning for AP13 error on a boiler

A lifesaving video. This is the same setup as the dreaded HTP EFTC-140/199W, which 99 out of 100 plumbers in Massachusetts refuse to work on. It's also high season for COVID and the coldest part of the winter, so once my one-of-100 plumbers got sick there was nothing to do but replace the 3-way pump myself. (What's a warranty worth if no one will do the work? As one plumber after another said to me, "The reason I can't service your boiler is if I open it, I own it. It's probably the valve but...") Obviously this is not recommended for non-plumbers, but I'm reasonably handy...and really had no other choice. The short version is that (1) a wide jaw basin wrench is essential: the front nut is 1 3/8" and there is not room between the cabinet frame and the plastic top of the internal pump for a plumbers wrench or adjustable wrench to make even a minimum 60° turn. And (2) the front gasket is a non-standard diameter which stumped the two nearest plumbing supply stores and two oldschool hardware stores (mind you, it's COVID and supplies are bad on everything). Fortunately Harbor Freight's "Tap Reseater Washer Assortment" includes two of the correct size. (The OEM washers were mashed so tight on my 2018 HTP 199W - and had baked so hard - that after a sixth of a turn to loosen the nut I was able to unscrew both nuts by hand. As far as diagnosing the problem is concerned, the 3-way valve appears to be by far the most common problem with these units. Because the non-functioning 3-way valve does not open to CH/heating zones (it only makes hot water/DHW for the house), the CH out and CH return pipes warm rapidly during startup and/or while the DHW/hot water comes up to temperature, but - even though the zones are still calling for heat - the burner shuts off because the temperature of the CH return is already over the maximum. You may suspect that an external circulator pump is the problem instead, but you can check by removing power to the external pump and setting only one zone to call for heat. The internal pump has plenty of power to force a couple of zones-worth of CH through the idle external pump, so if the external pump IS bad you'll feel hot water flowing through the external pump to the zone[s]. Assuming no other failures surface this video was everything I hoped for. Thanksagain.
