    Great video as always! For the Vi/Cait sex scene, it would've been interesting if they had coupled it with Vi and Cait having sex (somewhere else, in the bedroom maybe) AND Jinx feeling depressed in her jail cell, to get that feeling of loss, in the same way Mel/Jayce sex scene was coupled Viktor suffering/breaking through the hexcore. Then we would get both emotions of loss and joy, Vi choosing herself, and feel the full weight of Jinx's depression. Additionally, we feel the strong loss of Ekko missing alt-Powder, due to the composition, it was clearly centered and leaving SPACE for another character, as well as his body language. The composition of Vi leaning against Cait leaves no room for space - no visual emptiness. Even just Vi staring off at a window looking away, instead of looking downwards, would give the illusion that she's missing someone. I think it's also weird that they focused on Cait's face rather than on a close up of Vi when Cait is speaking, perhaps to show that Vi's mind is somewhere else. We also see that Vi has previously shown her grief to be very aggressive, whereas she's moreso lamenting over Jinx, rather than really grieving. We're never shown Vi's character growth in that sense, and it seems unrealistic that Vi would just accept Jinx's death so easily (so whether she's rational or not depends on if she's in a relationship with Cait?? ugh) While I don't appreciate that the sister's love isn't as strong as it was in S1, I can understand that maybe it's changed or waned due to the time passing, and hurt, but the characters never grow past this. I'm really dissapointed that Jinx didn't grow closer to Vi after Isha's death, understanding the toll of responsibility and how you can seem to make all the correct actions and still have a terrible outcome. I think Vi would have actually made for a great emotional crutch in this situation (despite her low EQ LMAO) and Cait would also have been able to see that Jinx really is different. Finally, I think, even if they wanted to end it in that way, it would have been SO FUCKING HEALING to have Jinx's airship blow a large pink smoke signal, to indicate to Vi that she's okay, a callback to her blue smoke signal. Love your analysis <33

      "Additionally, we feel the strong loss of Ekko missing alt-Powder, due to the composition [...] that Vi's mind is somewhere else." Good points !! "Finally, I think, even if they wanted to end it in that way, it would have been SO FUCKING HEALING to have Jinx's airship blow a large pink smoke signal, to indicate to Vi that she's okay, a callback to her blue smoke signal." Loving this! As you know, I care deeply about the healing power of Arcane-or any piece of art, for that matter. That’s why my analysis videos are so hyper-focused on the ending between the sisters and the whole "fake your death to break the cycle" thing. Thanks for your comment and enjoying my videos 🥰😘

    The lines on the ceiling in the scene with Viktor and Jayce floating (season 1) have a resemblance with the lights around Viktor and Jayce in the fight in season 2 (though there's not Viktor himself but a robot puppet). It's that monent when both Jayce and Mel are fighting against Viktor.

    Agreed! It is a careful and reaslistic analysis of the ending that takes into consideration all the factors regarding Jinx's mental headpsace that (apparently) the writers didn't seem to. Now, this could also mean that the story may be continued, thoughI don't know if that is what the writers wish to do. If so, some of these factors could be at play there. But even if it does continue, it will take some time.

    So this will be a pretty long comment. First off all I thought you made many valid points, I can agree with or at the very least understand, I also like your honesty. A few things I would like to say: I can agree on them speedrunning their reunion and reconsiliation (which I think wasn't great, something that could have been fixed with more episodes, but oh well). First the most unimportant thing. The slow motion aspect I belive is more a subjective thing, but it is understandable why you didn't like it. I also think we should have gotten more time to spend with pitfigter/emo/depressed Vi. To the question of why Jinx claims, that Jinx was "dead" is a bit conplicated to explain, but I will try my best, to explain my interpretation. So at this point Isha is in Jinx's life and she is trying to understand "What, I thought I was a Jinx, how can a little Girl Look up to me, how am I not destroying her?" (I know it sounds a bit weird), so maybe she isn't Jinx? Another interpretation could be that many people in Zaun are trying to push a narrative on Jinx, or using her as a narrative. The hero of Zaun. She doesn't see herself as a hero, never has, again "How can something destructive like me be a hero?", she actually says to "Silco", "Me a hero, how messed up is this place?". Then there is that she accepts being Jinx, yes, but what do we see? She does not like being Jinx, because "Everybody that gets close to her dies", but with Isha she kind of realizes "Wait if not, maybe I am not a Jinx?". And added to that the thing of Zaun trying to push a narrative on her. Maybe it is both maybe only one of those, or maybe both assumptions are wrong. But now that Jinx is dead, who is she, she is not Powder again right? Well we can look into Isha for something insightful, Isha is like a mirror for Powder right? But at the same time she is Powder if everything went right, she is helpful and skilled, her bombs and fireworks work and she even saves everybody, while Powder kills everybody. Now we got this mirror and we got a Jinx without a "pre-assigned" identity and in addition to that we got Vander. Now she also has a good relationship with her "sister" (Isha). So everything is set up for her to "rewrite" her story right? And who is missing for doing that? Well Vi (and if you went deeper Mylo and Claggor, but I think/hope you get my point). Now why Vi is convinced (I am not going to lie I would have wanted more interaction and fighting between them) to "trust" her? Let's say Vi actually doesn't have anything to lose anymore, I mean her sister (Powder) is dead, her family is dead, the Caitlyn she fell in love with is "dead". So she "goes with the flow". Or the polar opposite is the case of her being affraid to lose her sister again, but I think the first description makes more sense. But maybe there is another reason (except for having no more time to further tell the story). This time Vi notices Jinx and how she is interacting with Isha, this is a mirror to her own sisterhood with Jinx, perhaps showing Vi, what a relationship could result in after they reconsile "properly". This is also may be a reason for her suggestion of staying with Viktor and helping, because while they help these people and in this time together raise Isha could mean a "final" and proper reconsiliation between them. Vi also told Jinx when they were children she could fix anything, she now again sees good in Jinx, for the reasons stated above, and now she wants Jinx to use her potential for good, to fix something and not just to help Viktor, but to literally and figuretivley fix their relationship and (rewrite the) past. That is also why I think she wants to stay there. Also interesting that after this doesn't work out, Vi still insists on rewriting their Story (in the prison), which didn't work, but Ekko convinces her by saying "let's build something new", but not rewriting the past. But this is just a "side thought". I probably forgot to mention a few things that were on my mind, but this is just my interpretation and even though I wish we would've had more time, for more talks and moments leading up to all of this, I still loved what we got. But I totally understand and respect your opinion and I am open for other interpretations. Btw I was the guy that had discussed episode 7 with you on Reddit, that is why I wanted to check out your channel. Good video even though I don't agree (100%) personally. Cheers! 🤗

      Hey! I do remember you! Glad you checked my channel out <3. Regarding your interpretation of "Jinx is dead," they are interesting, but ultimately I believe that, regardless of the interpretation we might come up with, the show fails to provide enough evidence to clearly convey what it truly means. This is one of my main criticisms: too much is left to imagination and speculation, which ultimately comes across as character inconsistency. The "jinx is dead" thing was especially frustrating when S1 ended on a tragic and powerful note : she cannot escape who she is. So Jinx wanting "to rewrite her story" AND being able to do so, even if it is just for 5 months, should not have been left to our imagination. We WANTED to see how such a damaged character could open herself up again and start believing that she can be loved for who she is. Silco was the only one who could truly love her because he was the only one capable of loving the monster within her. I don’t believe Isha can genuinely love Jinx. She’s simply unaware of Jinx’s psychopathic tendencies and dangerous sides. So far, she’s only seen Jinx protect her and fight against bad guys. And it's not like Jinx decided to adopt isha after E3 and was able to turn into a "normal person" overnight. On something as simple as a regular walk, Jinx could randomly kill a bird, leaving poor Isha crying and upset. And Jinx is inherently a selfish person who takes pleasure in killing/hurting. I don’t believe she could suppress that part of herself for five months (and again, definitely not overnight). And even if she did, why would she want to hide who she is again? Didn’t she already conclude that she has no choice but to embrace who she is? So I understand that you say that because she is not hurting Isha, then she concludes that she is not jinx. But Jinx not scaring or hurting Isha feels like cheating for the reasons i just mentioned. And in any case, if loving Jinx is so easy, why a random kid would when her own sister could never have? What is the story trying to tell us with that? Who is this kid and what makes her so special? Why would she love a sociopath like Jinx? If it is not that hard, why insist on the fact that her own sister who loves her more than anything could never? It almost feels like Isha is a bit slow intellectually at times. But at other times, she seems way too smart for a 7 yo. I have no clue who this character is. Also, as I mentioned in the video, Jinx's attachment style should have made things difficult. She could have oscillated between wanting to be close and pushing Isha away. Which is a tragedy for many "damaged" people who want to love and be loved. Or Jinx could have been extremely anxious whenever Isha went out without her, suffocating her with her need for constant reassurance. Can you imagine how insecure Jinx must have felt? This girl is like oxygen to her, apparently, so Jinx’s anxiety levels should have been through the roof. Or Jinx could have regressed to her old patterns-seeking someone's approval. Which was a real pb with Vi and with Silco. But that didnt happen with Isha. This is also why people compare Isha to a puppy-because only animals can offer the kind of unconditional love Isha displayed without ever being triggering. Puppies are less triggering than humans because their individuality doesn’t conflict with ours. And even then, puppies can still make us anxious when we worry about their safety. In any case, Jinx should not have been so emotionally well-regulated. Even Powder wasn’t that emotionally stable. This isn’t how people heal from anxious attachment styles or mental health issues. Moreover, by showing Jinx’s healing journey on screen, they could have made numerous choices to depict a more realistic relationship between her and Isha. And more people would have been on board. Anyway! Next video will be my last analysis of season 2 because it's not the most fun to address criticism to a show that I wanted to love. After that i'll go back to creative projects like AMVs and such! I hope you will enjoy those too!

      @@Arcana17So I have to think about some things you have said before I properly answer because it is late in my country (1:15 AM), but I probably will answer some things you have mentioned. But what I really wanted to say is that my biggest criticism of season 2 (even as somebody who loves it) is that many things are left to speculation and interpretation and to be explained by the audience. And I think it could have been solved with a third season. This wouldn't have just developed and resolved things better, but it would have been a more natural evolution from the fight of two cities (which was also not really resolved, which I find sad) to Inter-dimensional God/Multiverse-level threat. Like I said I do love season 2 and I don't know why we didn't get season 3, but I can say that I can see potential being lost because of time constraints. I know good writers should be able to write around these blockades, but with these many plotlines and characters, it basically would have been impossible, if they didn't cut anything. That is also why I think for "only" two seasons they did a pretty amazing job at wrapping up everything. And like I said, just because I love it doesn't mean I do not have any criticisms.

    #12: perhaps Jinx was indeed ready to die in that moment and didn't intend to fake her death. The fact that she comes back to fight is a sign of her listening to Ekko and choosing to write a new story for herself (e.g. taking accountability, moving forward in the right direction). If she was still in the mindset of "I have to rewrite my past" - like Vi told her, erase the Jinx persona, she'd still be in the suicidal thoughts. But maybe she oscillates between these 2 states? When she sees the opportunity to save her sister by sacrificing herself, she thinks ok, I should do it, i should end it, but as she falls down with Warwick, she comes back on it and thinks, maybe l can still make something else of my life. I dont know, just a thought

    • @cynthiapucheanu34
      @cynthiapucheanu34 Месяц назад

      #13: maybe she took that precisely as inspiration, a pure soul doing a pure deed. Maybe she wanted to be pure for once, truly be regarded as the hero she struggled so much to be before #14: Gods, that "decorated officer" line came so out of nowhere, I still cringe at it. She was literally a newby enforcer up until then with ceremonial positions... #23: because she's rich and holds institutional power and the show is deeply uninterested in challenging systemic power structures in any meaningful way. Simply show the problem, but at the end circle back and maintain the status quo, because "it's not that bad after all, see, they're all people just like us, they have their own motives to gas and torture a whole city with minimal consequences"... 🤪 absolute biggest failure of the show in my opinion. Reflects Riot's centrist views #36: and also, how the hell did Ambessa know Warwick was coming in that elevator, and what was she hoping to achieve by waiting there for him with 2 soldiers? 😂

    Honestly, now that Riot recently reveal how much two seasons of the show costed (250 million), i really can understand why they didn't want to do a season 3, the production costs are to big, and Netflix probably doesn't want to wait them another 3 years. So with a the faults the show has I really believe they close the story in the best way Fortiche could have done with just two seasons. Hopefully the studio now has learned from his mistakes and with the next Noxus and Demacia show's, they won't repeat the same mistakes so they could prepare a better narrative.

    #1 - Christian Linke himself on twitter said that him and the writers weren’t too interested in Vi, and idk why they are sidelined so badly. They probably thought that Viktor would offer more spectacle and Jayce needed to deal with that to have more meaning. #2- This feature in something that seemingly just happens instead of something that is activated. We still should have seen it in act 1 and 2, but oh well. Also, she has new gauntlets seemingly in act 3 and I assume this feature would have been removed or overlooked. #3- It isn’t necessarily a risk to shout Vander per say, but she should not just be standing their when he is charging towards her. Vander may have recognized the voice more so than her appearance because she looks very different with the black hair idk. The show will have you think that Vi has lost everything and just trusts Jinx’s word because she has nothing left, which is just annoying but here we are. #4- Yep, it’s just super convenient she ran into him. She maybe checked the blacksmith first just because she met Jayce there in episode 8 and assumed the hammer would just be lying around, either way it is sloppy writing. #5 - Just character assassination. Skipping necessary scenes because they wanted a time skip. As for the locating Jinx part, I have no idea how the grey helps them find her at all lmao. #6 - The show will have you think this is the lowest she has ever been. She now knows that her sister is alive and is a monster that she thinks she created whereas she assumed in Stillwater that her innocent sister needed help. This still makes no sense because in episode 1, she says that she will handle Jinx alone and yet when she can, she just doesn’t. I think she believes she has compromised her beliefs in order to help Caitlyn get her revenge, but that Caitlyn has changed in the process. Notice how she only envisions Caitlyn with her usual enforcer outfit before she believes she has changed. #7 - No idea (this season is rushed) #8 - Vi wants Caitlyn to think that Jinx has changed and yet she has made no attempt to show this. I don’t why she would think this at all. As for the WW stuff, I am pretty certain that Vi had Jinx for backup to kill Singed not Caitlyn, otherwise I have no idea what to think of Vi anymore. Or maybe she just values WW life over Caitlyn’s, idk. #9 - I have not a clue. Everything went her way pretty much if that was the plan so idk why she said “this isn’t how it's supposed to go” #10 - I hate this one. I don’t see how the show didn’t have the undercity find out when they most definitely would. Jinx should be worried but she stupidly tells Smeech who could have told Sevika at any time during their fight and yet this doesn’t happen either even though it would save Smeech’s life. #11 - The show just really doesn’t want the undercity to know because they wouldn’t see Jinx as the “big fat hero” and because they would hunt and kill her themselves. Piltover only benefit by telling Zaun this information and yet they don’t mention it. Seemingly, Vi and Caitlyn never told anyone which is what must have happened, which makes no sense. Mel finds out because Caitlyn mentions it in the council room near the start of episode 1. The plot breaks if the undercity find out, and Jinx wouldn’t last a week. #12 - Idk. The writers want Jinx to meet Lux so that’s why they wrote it that way. #13 - The writers forgot about Isha post episode 6. She was a plot device and she served her purpose. Jinx maybe thinks that Vi is stronger than she is mentally and so she assumes that she will be ok. #14 - One of the worst sins of this season. I don’t why they felt the urge to recontextualize season 1 this way, but they did. This is such nonsense that I won’t even think about it whenever I rewatch season 1. #15 - That damn letter man. The writers feel as if that letter can just be the saving grace for any relationship. More nonsense. #16 - Jinx is an idiot, plain and simple. She doesn’t tell her anything, and Vi doesn’t bother asking any relevant questions so they almost die for it. I also don’t know why Jinx brought Isha after what she saw at Stillwater, but who care we need to create a dynamic at all costs. #17 - The writers needed Jinx to look vulnerable even though she most definitely wouldn’t be after one swipe from WW so that Isha can server her purpose. She could have saved Isha, but the writers teleported her backwards. No idea why the Noxian guards aren’t killing her either. #18 - Caitlyn just makes this up and the council and Ambessa just accept this as fact apparently. The line makes no sense. #19 - Gaping hole that makes no sense. She concludes this because he locked himself in his cell when a monster was killing people outside. #20 - You're nailing every flaw in this season holy. The writers did this because they skipped all of the scenes that would show this lmao. Chem barons die in a music video now you see. Are we the baddies? #20 - Jinxers and their existence make no sense, but I guess you could say they are not exactly doing anything worth arrests. #23 - The show has no time left, and we need a happy ending. The blame is entirely on Ambessa seemingly even though Caitlyn needs to be held accountable as you said. #24 - Unlucky, I guess. If only Rictus didn’t die, Ambessa wouldn’t be wearing those things and would have died here. I have no idea why only Rictus would have these on him but idk. #25 - This character is not Vi but rather a look alike, same could be said for Jinx. #26 - I guess you could say that Jayce is missing and that he would have asked where they are. Season 1 Jayce would have asked, but season 2 Jayce maybe wouldn’t have cared. I mean he does build Hextech weapons again in episode 1 very quickly. #27 - Jayce seemingly finds an alternate way in. Huck was guarding the entrance originally, but it seems someone took his place and decided to let people with weapons in I guess idk. #28 - I really don’t know, but if I was to offer a defense, I would say that she is the only one with a rifle and so she could spy on any activity, I guess. Even though I say, I don’t know how she wouldn’t recognize this is Vi. #29 - The show ends if Vi kills Ambessa here and yet she just doesn’t. Vi thinks for whatever reason that WW will go with Caitlyn, and that Jinx would be fine with it. It is all garbage but it’s season 2 of Arcane so what’s new? #30 - Viktor’s powers are barely explored so we can’t say. We just have to assume he was in deep meditation and didn’t see him coming idk. #31 - Caitlyn never really gets a chance per say, but she somewhat does at the end. Remember when Sevika was a struggle for Vi, and yet now somehow Caitlyn and her can go toe-to-toe? Sevika just wins within a couple of seconds. Caitlyn was trying to get a good shot, but was afraid due the fast movements that she may accidently shoot Vi instead. I’ve seen other people mention the crushing Jinx’s head, but I don’t Vi would do it that way. I know she is trying to kill her, but I still don’t she would do it in that fashion. I guess it's preference. #32 - Now counters. They are all dead. #33 - Jayce isn’t human or something idk. No arguing this point lmao. #34 - Jinx’s shimmer powers this season are just bs. She can just tackle this WW out of the way and hold extreme weight. #35 - Caitlyn has the thickest plot armour in this show, followed by Jayce. I hate to criticize episode 7 in season 1, but she 100% dies by the firelight explosions. #36- Editing saves characters so many times this season it’s infuriating. Jinx is extremely lucky WW slows down instead of killing her quickly like he did with everyone else who doesn’t have plot armour. #37 - No idea. Honestly another excellent video. I don’t see how you could watch these videos and still think that season 2 is some sort of masterpiece. Season 1 would be ashamed of this season, and I don’t know how there are this many mistakes; it is insane. You just nailed every point this episode, and I assume you only missed a few because they are in your other video. Nice job.

    That just tells me you didn’t like the ending because your perceived notions of a logical & heart warming ending is what you suggested to be put in place of the writer’s vision. The ending is realistic, flawed , erratic, & human but by no means is it bad or should be changed. It’s the same with Attack On Titan’s ending when some people hated the ending because it didn’t meet their definition of what a realistic coherent ending should be like. They think a happy & reconciled ending between characters is a more realistic approach because they lack the nuance & the deep sense on the volatility of life.

      I don't remember saying that the ending was not realistic. I did mention that it wasn’t a healing ending, though. @ it came off as criticism rather than expressing a preferred closure to the series. I understand that you may prefer a more healing conclusion with the characters but what’s attributed to the way the season ended was Jinx’s precarious mental struggles, her definition of “healing” was not reconciliation but a departure from the environment & the people that inadvertently incite her unstable psychological warfare’s & the harm she tends to to inflict in her warped view on life. If I seem ignorant or went on a tangent, feel free to express it. Thank you for the video, I did enjoy your explanation nonetheless. And I didn’t mean to use the word realistic, that was a bad choice of words.

    #13 On RUclips, you can find this scene from Jinx's perspective. Notice how she looks at Ekko and his device. From her expression, it’s clear that she’s not as deeply suicidal as you described. She remains grounded in reality and is perceptive enough to realize, with just one glance at the device featuring the monkeys, that there is a good version of herself. Moreover, Ekko's strange behavior makes her realize that things aren't as obvious as she initially thought. She isn’t convinced by words alone, but rather by Ekko's appearance and her own feelings, based on how he looks and acts. She saw her monkeys in his z drive he built…she knew he was talking about her

    These are awesome questions! And an amazing video. I like your designs and choice of both the fonts and the pacing. I feel like I don't have an answer for any of the first 17 and indeed, they have definitely convoluted these three to the point where it's hard to say what the idea and intent was and why they did this or that and some consequences don't play out but I think I have a couple ideas for all of Ekko's timeline. Though I see that some people actually have better grasp on these! 17: HD-2 was probably at a different location, as they are not teleported inside the (non-existent here) hexgate structure, but take over original selves. Jayce had to travel to the future, Heimerdinger took over his version here, or HD-2 18: possibly HD-2 is not dead, but if you're inside the portal, the "original" or Ekko-2 is plopped nearby, rather than original location, but HD-1 is now somewhere inside the time continuum, while the paradoxes are clearing themselves out, still moving around, and will be jettisoned after Episode 9 when the Anomaly is closed. The HD-2 has (possibly) re-manifested in the place HD-1 originally took his place, as soon as HD-1 is removed from this timeline, so potentially he'll be at the Academy with no recollection of past 3 years. Teleportations, time travel, and time paradoxes are extremely complicated and I don't think any two writers have the same way of ironing them out. I noticed they get more complicated as our real-time knowledge about time-space and relativity changes. 19: death of Vi is so, so much worse than "these little rats caused a lot of commotion". Vi is dead, Powder is in custody, that is less of a "I want revenge" and "This is a moment to make amends" so it serves a valid moment to fix the differences. It probably took a lot of shouting, too, but they had three years (and HD-1 behind all of that) to iron it out. 20: could be anything, really, there could be more subtle differences than just this one. Really, Vi could be the one to find it and was the sole one responsible for her own demise, and that's why Powder isn't wrecked with guilt. 21: no explanation, and this is glaring. These are highly dangerous and they have a small girl's body to prove. 100% this version of Jayce-2 was expelled from Piltover as original intention was (could even perish in these 6 years, too. Become an alcoholic and fall off ship? That is why Jayce-1 couldn't take his place?) but this is more the reason to remove the remaining gems. And no way Powder could just have these things that killed her sister lying around in a wooden box in a bag. Also 21a: it's been 7 years, why isn't this lavish lab renovated? It's prime real estate, surely no one rich wants to have to look at the eyesore that it is. 22/23: As I said, it's quite possible this version of Zaun was way less desperate from the get-go, plus 3 years of old and very well respected Heimerdinger that's single-minded about fixing Zaun. And he's spent a lot of time with Fireflies, he's got a lot of things he can do with this knowledge. He probably still is on the council, or he actually decided to give up his place on the council to get someone from Zaun there, for example. He would also know, in advance, what would work on every council member, too. For Ambessa - it also gets super convoluted and I'm not sure what they wanted. 24-26 - beats me, these moments made me go "I don't understand. She wants to just take it over at this point?" 27 - I feel like it's the "Strong Honor and Warriors Respect" here. If she tried to attack Ambessa while she's unarmed, who knows if the guardsmen would've interfered. They were training together for quite some time at this point, apparently. 28-29 - I feel like she really lost the idea what exactly Viktor wanted and thought that she can still overpower him or something like that. She seems pretty sure to miss entirely how strong he is. She talks about loyalty and submission to her and how he's changing "her" soldiers and probably expected that they will not attack her. This also happens, btw, these defensive formations are not attacked by the Porcelain Figures. As for Viktor... Oh boy I never understood the motivations of these "cold logic changers" like Viktor or Cybermen, Borg, whatever. But they do exist in media and they try to reach "strength through unity of thought" to varying degree. 30 - I feel like yes, he did think what he was doing was good. It seems like he genuinely didn't take their free will away. It seems like he could, if they allow, tap into full control of their body, but their souls were still there. He didn't see that they're bound to him now. 31 - his centre of mass is no longer needed to survive at this point. He's more of a mana entity, and shooting a hole through him would severely wound him rather than kill him, considering all heroes in this world are way sturdier than real people :D 32 - yeah, because you do. I studied philosophy in school and uni (not as main topic, extra curriculum) and I barely understood WTF is going on. I'm 100% once they release info on behind the scenes there will be at least 4 different philosophy schools mentioned and terms like "Superego" and "Hegelian dialectics" thrown around as if everyone knows what it is. I feel like, in general and to simplify, this is an allusion (ok remember I said about superego and big words??) to totalitarian governments, where every single person's will is completely subdued in order to reach The Greater Good. 33 - I think 50\50. It's one of these traits of a cold and calculating person - that before Jayce reaches this on his own, he won't understand. He needed to be humbled and reach the summit without someone holding his hand? IDK? But also these dolls weren't, it looks like, actually hostile, he assumed they are. Probably Viktor would have helped if it went REAL bad, but not before, because he tried to help everyone and ended up destroying the whole world. As for the finals... 34 - yeah, that was super convenient 35 - one thing I noticed is that Jinx is incredibly triggered by words. Isha is mute and very smol, so she's not very triggering to Jinx, who also already showed higher self control in S2 already, it seems. One very telling one is where Jinx had the clear shot of Vi, and instead of shooting her, cries and can't do it. And the one before that where she evades the whole Cait's strike team - I'm sure she could dispose of them, but she doesn't, even though the whole situation is super traumatizing - but I feel like the fact that they stayed quiet helped? 36 - seems like he tried to be good to her before that too, but they also spent quite some together, it's not shown, exactly, but it seems like they spent quite a bit of time there? 37-38 - beats me, yeah, another super convenience, but magic also doesn't exist, so for them, AUs are as real as Arcane. 39 - He used the only rune that works, which sort of worked like a rune of Introspection, breaking through that Demigod Cold Calculating Facade of Magical Order. This wasn't Viktor himself, that was a comination of Viktor and the Arcane Order that was almost sentient, too. 40 - That would take a whole another season to address. We're also shown that they're not ready to actually improve just yet, but the fact that they agreed to help evacuate Zaun, and the way they came to assistance shows that they're at least less hellbent on oppression than our counterparts.

    i think a lot of your questions should start with putting yourself into the shoes of the characters and thinking about what would realistically happen and also appreciating the many different things going which blur the lines of their decision making…one of the reasons that this was an expertly crafted narrative. nothing is black & white. 1) vi has no idea what “break the cycle” means, she doesn’t know of jinx’s dialogue with her inner silco 2) this one is a bit of a stretch and i couldn’t buy it either, but having a rocky on & off relationship with someone for years tied to extreme highs and lows does lead to situations like this sometimes. i’ve definitely done some things that shouldn’t have been top on my prio list and dropped the ball on things like work or promises but you are really stuck in that moment with that person. 3) i’m sure she wants to but there are a lot of things going on and, once again, she is stuck in a moment w/ cait 4) jinx mentioning cait’s mother in their dialogue changed cait’s entire perspective on jinx going back all the way to last season. she never understood why vi loved her sister until that moment. after vi confronted her about jinx in a cell, and with the kiramann medarda alliance shattered, cait’s priorities changed. honestly i think the show just had other priorities w/ limited time available so they just brushed over this and i think its fine 5) & 6) i don’t think either of them know definitively. cait playing w/ jinx’s monkey pendant thing is a way of her reminiscing. what you are seeing is the grieving happening actively, not that they didn’t do it. 7) she definitely does though, look at their first interaction talking about vi at the shrine where powder got triggered and told him to leave. the time ekko was in that timeline (which is our view into that world) was also limited, there wasn’t really time to get too far into it 8) if you’ve had someone you’ve admired & cared for deeply die and then you carried them with you for many years, their voice becomes something inside you for you to bounce ideas off, and the version of that person is based off your memories, not necessarily who they actually were. this means that mentally healthy people can usually draw on these spirits as inspiration, guidance, confidence…jinx is anything but mentally healthy. remember at this point she is at an all time low, she never got to grieve isha and is sitting there blaming herself for vander and all of the people in viktor’s commune. the silco inside her is just reflecting what she wants, which is is to disappear. suicide is a lot of effort, a lot of people don’t have the will to do it even if they are thinking about it every day. 9) maybe it was in the moment, but in the larger picture of their relationship it’s just one event. maybe you haven’t had a relationship like theirs, people do crazy things to each other and still stay together. 10) see 4 above 11) that really would make no sense. remember in s1 where the name jinx came from, and how she fully embraced it. w/ silco she gained a feeling of purpose by going full zaun rebel, but after the events of s2 she believes everyone is happier w/o her around - this is started so many times such as the scene with smeech. she doesn’t seem to have any sentiments of anger and spite left, even toward cait, so she wants others forget about her. it’s pretty consistent with thought patterns of suicidal individuals who believe they are a burden to everyone around them. 12) because in the world that was created, this would never happen. they are both terrible at having this kind of conversation. the closest this got to happening was that moment in the mine tunnels. also it has been stated many times in this show that not everything can be forgiven, certain things have to be left behind, many things will be regretted forever. just like real life. 13) jinx is incapable of feeling her sister’s love for her, because psychologically she has convinced herself she is the greatest threat to others, and why would anyone love what threatens them the most? ekko has the advantage of the z-drive and repeating the scenario many times until he found what worked, and then repeating that until he could get make progress. 14) i think you have created a narrative of what jinx wants that isn’t true to what is being presented in the show nor how life works in general. if you make up your mind to kill something inside yourself, and many years pass, it’s possible that you don’t even remember what you wanted in the past even if it stares you in the face. it’s something you see in people as time passes. and once again - ekko has z-drive. 15) they are completely different situations - silco existed before jinx, had all of these dealings apart from jinx, did many things that made jinx distrust him, and gave jinx a purpose in life to fight for zaun and not let others ever put her down - as he thought it was a way for her to defend herself and keep her alive. jinx launching rocket at piltover council was an ode to silco to carry his legacy and still, at that point in her life, do what she thought was who she is. but people change, especially when you are young, you hop between ideologies and belief systems before finding what you actually believe in, and by the time she became isha’s guardian, all of silco’s encouragement (in the form of anger/rage/revenge) was gone. jinx never got to figure herself out but has been dealing with so much for so long, at some point as a person, you just become exhausted, you stop caring, you shut down and totally go inside. some people never make it out. 16) maddie didn’t exist for caitlyn’s character, she was always going to be on the side of the powerful and was always loyal to ambessa. it was not betrayal but instead deception all the way from act 1. her death was a bit of a poetic device and timed for emotional engagement. 17) great question, no clue 18) heimer isn’t confirmed to be dead, see necrit’s chat w/ christian where he said he “wasn’t done with heimer yet” 19) remember vander’s letter to silco that never made it because powder’s bomb, and then all of the flashbacks to vi/jinx’s parents and the old days? there is a lot to their relationship that we don’t know, it’s not so unthinkable. 20) in that alternate timeline powder never sent the explosive monkey bomb, so vander didn’t die and vi never ran off. vi died in a different mission that was spearheaded by ekko (that we have no details of)

    • @red2someru
      @red2someru 2 месяца назад

      21) without jinx separation from vi and going under silco care (and silco not having vander to check him thus going full into zaun independence mode), it’s possible that the gemstones she stole were always just kept secret. remember this powder was very hesitant to do things ever since her sister died, meaning she was conservative and not wanting to take risks that could lead to loss. maybe jayce went to look for the gemstones but never found them, we’ll never know. 22) & 23) we are only shown the parts of zaun that were improved. ekko went exploring into where the firelights have a base in his home timeline, and it was all abandoned. no details about the politics and specifics about why this timeline came to a peaceful state, but that was intended as a narrative device - remember the whole point of sending ekko there was to reignite his vision for what zaun could be, and having such a drastic difference did the job. we dont really need to know the details as they don’t impact the story. 24) her goal was always the same - to have enough power to not be bossed around. this is mentioned many times - when she deals w/ leblanc directly, when she is teaching caitlyn about the pillars of noxus (vision, might, guile, and her personal addition - sacrifice), and in the conversations w/ singed she hints about what she wants him to make. also in her music video and everything related to the wolf element of kindred. 25) & 26) there are many years of lore regarding leblanc, the coven of witches, mordekaiser, and noxus in general that would need to be covered to go through this - read into it as much as you like. 27) up until this point ambessa is avoiding conflict because she is hoping that caitlyn and mel can still be of use to her, possible due to her wanting to avoid combatting mel. but caitlyn wants to get on with it as she knows there is no going back. also, they are surrounded by house medarda soldiers. assaulting ambessa is different than if they are dueling. 28) ambessa does not really care about controlling piltover, she just wants weaponized hextech to fight off her enemies. she needed to control piltover to get there, but now that she has singed and the arcane vessel piltover is just a convenient base of operations. she doesn’t understand viktor’s ultimate destination, nor does she really care because she is focused on her goals only. 29) yes they would have. ambessa likely did not understand the implications, she only saw how strong warwick was. no one really understood outside of viktor and sky. 30) right and wrong are subjective interpretations based on perspective. the lack of existence can be argued to be the most peaceful existence. in terms of pure physics, life is literally chaos and death is literally calm, so in viktor’s state of being able to comprehend millions of voices within a single consciousness, he didn’t just believe he was doing the right thing, but also that which was inevitable. we will face a similar conundrum within our own civilization on earth, but it may not be for a few hundred years. 31) jayce was not there to kill viktor, he was there to destroy the hexcore. which he did, as he believed that to be enough to stop the arcane. however, he probably did not understand how viktor was already linked to the arcane and celestial dimension at a consciousness level. this was only made apparent to him when he and mel had to fight off one of viktor’s sentries in the council room. viktor’s attachment to the arcane combined with singed’s procedure sacrificing his corporeal form (remember when sky had to disappear?) allowed him to sustain after getting blasted by jayce. 33) to really understand this, you need to look at jayce when he first enters that timeline, from his positive, determined, high action attitude/demeanor and physical condition, to the one of him at his lowest, willing to give up on life, lying face down in the puddle at the bottom of the ravine. jayce went through hell in that timeline, it took months but he pushed through. then you have to think about viktor’s words at the very end - at this point the world is purged of all individual life, viktor is all that remains along with an infinite sea of consciousness. jayce’s this effort was the only human, alive, chaotic thing strong enough to bring doubt to viktor for that world of ultimate serenity. viktor at this point is not human, not here to care for a friend, help someone in need etc - he is so far gone beyond these kind of things, but watching someone do this for months on end and refuse to give up, it is what moved viktor to reconsider and want to rewrite the history. and jayce did this in infinite timelines, we are watching the only one in which he does not fail. 34) they grieved his death 10 years ago or something. this is an opportunity to get it back, and reminds them that no matter how much they have changed, they are still family. 35) mothers needing to provide for their kids have done some incredible things in the history of humanity. isha being thrust onto jinx put her into situations she didn’t know how to deal with, but due to jinx being a good natured person at the core, she couldn’t help but take care of someone that she saw so much of her former self in. it’s completely different than traditional therapy in which someone is just dealing with themselves, you don’t have the peril of another person’s fate is on their hands. sure the timing might be a bit rushed but it’s not unbelievable. 36) & 37) remember jinx vs ekko fight on the bridge in s1 where he was punching her but stopped after getting the flashbacks to their childhood. he’s known all along she has good in her, but the circumstances of their world pushed him to distance away from her, and that’s the whole point, is that he didn’t change his view of her, he was just reminded of what could have been, something he had dreamed of but forgot about dealing with the realities of life. this is really common irl, people set out to do something and look back 10 years later seeing how things unfolded totally different than imagined. when he thanks powder for giving him his dream back and that’d he’d given up on her, and she tells him that she’s never known him to give up on anything, it’s an incredibly powerful moment for him…because he knows that only a better version of himself could bring about the better versions of everyone around him. it fuels him to go back to the original timeline and get out there doing what he believes in. 38) like i mentioned above and is core to the show in depicting these characters in reality…it’s not like black and white where vi either sees jinx as good or bad. it’s a very wide spectrum with lots of different factors. it’s clear she is seeing jinx take care of isha reminding her of the past with her, powder, milo and the gang. but at the same time, no she doesn’t forget or forgive things in the past, and she never will, but they happened and you move on especially when other things in front of you are more important. helping vander is more important. saving others’ lives, stopping an oppressive warlord, all of these things are more important. just like irl we interact with family, friends, coworkers and building up decades-long relationships there are bound to be fights, struggles, periods of no contact…but if you wind up with each other again and there are things more important, you work through it. 39) i’m not really understanding what you mean here by “work” or “redeem”. you seem to think of viktor having done bad things needing redeeming. but to him he has just only done what he thought is necessary - the topic of free will inevitably causing suffering is a philosophical topic dating back thousands of years. my interpretation is that from the moment viktor merged with the arcane, due to the arcane’s time & dimension warping properties, viktor just became one being spanning across the entire spectrum of time, as in past, present, and future viktor are all one being. this is different than ekko traveling to a different dimension or jayce’s infinite hellscapes, as they were unable to create a way to communicate with themselves across different points in time. so in a way, he did do the “work” as it is himself who had to create the scenario for jayce to be able to interject with viktor’s ascension at the time that he did. 40) in order to go into that it would be a whole different show. you can’t just be like “and then this happened, and then that happened, and the end”. the topics are too sensitive and have too much depth, and it’s probably not something the arcane show team are interested in making anyway, as they have stated their priority is character stories, not world/society stories. as a side note, just as i mentioned before about right and wrong being a matter of perspective, it’s unlikely that piltover thought they were oppressing zaun, rather just protecting themselves from outlaws and cultural threats. meanwhile zaun is not trying to threaten anyone’s culture or laws but don’t believe the laws are fair to their conditions. both sides have merit and affect each side differently due to culture being a product of generations.

      #11 Actually I failed at writing this one the way I meant it. I think when I wrote it it was more out of sadness and disappointment than out of logic. On one hand, I can agree that from Jinx''s POV it makes sense that she would leave like this. But dhe did have proof from vi and ekko that they cared about her and would need to know that she is alive though. So the writers could still have chosen to show us that she is not as broken as what she was a couple days ago and can see through her black glasses a little bit more. I dont think it would have been completely out of character either. So my question is more for the writers. Why didnt they chose to make Vi be the one finding out about her sister being alive and find her to say goodbye before she leaves. It would have been a much more healing thing to do for both the characters and us. And from my perspective, it would not have taken away anything from what they were trying to say regarding jinx's mental health. I'll make a video about the two of them and about this specifically anyway. "it’s pretty consistent with thought patterns of suicidal individuals who believe they are a burden to everyone around them." All the more reason why they shouldn’t have done this with the main character at the very end of the show. What exactly are they trying to leave us with? It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Allowing Jinx to be seen by her sister in that fragile state-where she’s clearly thinking, “I’m a burden to everyone”-and being told otherwise wouldn’t have taken away from the realism. In fact, it would have added depth and emotional resonance to the scene.

    #13 addendum - I like how Jinx's streaked mascara there looks like it reads 'Vi' backward. #14- Jinx felt just as guilty as Vi (I think) she told her to be happy with Cait. She felt like she was holding her sister back on being happy. Maybe those few days? She spent in the prison cell gave her insight into how isolated Vi must've been for those seven years not ever having someone there for her. Not being happy and so she wanted to give her Caitlin? Not sure just my thoughts on that one.

    #14 - someone posted one of the writers had said that Ekko told her about the fact he met a 'good jinx' . Her line about there's no good me or something. Ekko told her there was and I think the proof to his words would've been the lil monkeys in his time drive. That she is/still can be good. That's what changed her mind.

      In theory, that could work. But here’s yet another instance where we have to speculate to make sense of a scene. In my opinion, that’s not what storytelling should be like.

    #9 I wondered that myself. I mean hell if I was Vi I'd have kicked Cait to the curb. There was no apology and Cait didn't seem to be 'hurting' about it. She had a lil red headed bedwarmer and her words about 'While you were gone , I saw someone." No she wasn't gone. You hit her and left her behind. Not like she went on a cruise and came back. Vi was devastated. I think she forgave her way too quickly.

    I try to answer an many as i can: 1. She thinks Jinx is about to act out, blow stuff up, stage a revolution ect. 2. Vi does not stop Jinx immediately, because the only real way to do that is to work with cait again, and for that she needs to get close to her again. also Love. 3. Vi understood something until this point. Jinx is not a maniac, but it hero in Zaun. Vi trust her, that's why she frees her in the first place. She only wants Jinx to "Stop" because she didnt want Jinx to keep her in the cage. But Jinx did, because jinx does not trust Vi. Vi understands that too. 4. Yes. Caitlyn is on Jinxes side. She brings her food, she understood that Jinx changed. 5. Jinx isnt dead, but Vi probably does not know that. They dont show it because it happens of camera. We saw her crying about deaths many times. Its implied. 6. Jinx wanted to "walk away". Either cait knows that and respect her wish or does not tell vi to protect her, because if Vi knew, she would try to find her, without ever succeeding. 7. Losing someone in your life is not something that traumatizes you. It makes you sad for a long time, but you can heal from it. In the real timeline Jinx is traumatized because she was the reason for everyone dying and was abandoned by her whole family. Here she has vander and her fiends to fall back to. She was not alone. 8. We probably just did not see him say that to her. What he is saying has nothing to do with standing up for yourself of with zaun, rather its a Statement about not Holding onto things that destroys you. A common philosophy he preaches in the first season. Letting go of your weakness. In Jinx case this weakness is Zaun and Piltover. 9. Caitly became what she hated. A brutal enforcer. This Scene breaks the trust Vi and Cait had and makes there further choices more understandable. 10. Dont understand the question. Why does anyone change there believe about anything. Enough contradicting evidence was provided. 11. Walking away might not be the healthiest for anyone, but it is for Jinx. She just wanted to go away. She just wanted to be gone. 12. They had taht conversation when Jinx "killed herself". She saved Vi, thus forgiving her. The words "Always with you sis" can be interpreted as "i always love you" Or "I will always stay in your heart". This was there goodbye. 13/14. Vi talks to her first. Jinx thinks its just Vi duty and promise to vander to protact her. This has not much value in her eyes. But when Ekko speaks to her its 2 people that want her to live. Its not just familie. Its friends too. This is enough for her. 15. After Silcos death Jinx rages. But after the rage she just gets domant. She does not help, She does not go anywhere, She just survives. With Isha this changes. Jinx is happy again. Then she dies too. The reason Jinx want to die then, is that Jinx believes her curse (The jinxing) can not be broken. In short: Its just too much. Also again: After ishas death she is alone, without anyone to help her. 16. It just shows ambessas control. 17. You don't know that Heimerdingen inst in his other body. He probably is, and helped the lower city, like he wanted to befor. Jayce was transported to a world with no people left. 18. Maybe Heimerdinger did not die, maybe he was transported somewhere else again. 19. In this reality Silco found the Letter from Vander, because all the things that led to Vanders death did not happen here. 20. Vi probably died because of the explosion. Yes she is not aware of it, or maybe she is. We do see the crystals in Jinxes drawer. 21. In the first season it is started that the only reason enforcers roam the treats of zaun is that a whole house was blown up and they need heads to roll. Without a massiv explosion, just a medium one, there is no need for that. 22. Heimerdinger is part of the council and 100% on Zauns side. Silco didnt flood the streets with shimmer and Jinx and Ekko are working on things to clean the air. 23. He probably is. Heimerdinger is the founder of Piltover after all. If there is a piltover heimerdinger will have some power. 24. This can be answered with the lore in the game. Noxus is an extremity militaristic state. She wants the weapons, the power, the land and the money. But mostly the weapons. 25. The black rose is probably some kind of mage underground organization trying to destroy noxus for obvious reasons. because mel does not like her mother. 26. Caitlyn is still the chieften of piltover. Cant just throw her in jail as easily. 27. humiliation. 28. Ambessa did not know. 29. She thought that victor would turn her soldiers into super soldiers like he promised. 30. He did not think. He was being corrupted by the hexcore. 31. Victor was saved with the blood of vander. Like Singed said. 32. because Victor is not a human at this point. He is a vessel for the arcane, whose goal are beyond our understanding. 33. future victor wanted Jayce to understand how bad the situation would get. Only this way Jayce would try to stop victor. And like we talked about befor, the only way to really unterstand how bad something is, is to witness it often, alone and without help. 34. I don't understand the question. 35. No. this is really realistic. deeply traumatized men are often times fine when caring for a daughter. To try to get out of a depression you have to have a reason. Isha is that reason for Jinx. Jinx wants to get better for her. 36. probably. 37. People are not evil. Nobody is. They just experienced things that made them that way. If someone matters to you its often a good idea to show them what they might have been missing to this point. That is why we don't kill bad people, but impression them, give them therapy and give them a second chance. 38. VI is depressed because there is no reason for her to not be. But as soon as Jinx asks for her help she has a reason again. This plus the reunion with vander brings her back to when things where better. A common phenomenon in psychology. It is called "regression" and while mostly negativ can be positiv too. 39. time and solitude make a man think. Victor probably too. 40. because it is not that simple. Sevikas entrence into the Counsel is the first step of many. 40b. That is true. And because of that we don't see zaun get better yet. just a glimpse of hope. not more. Hope that helps.

    It's so refreshing finally seeing someone not just being overwhelmed by joy, but actually asking needed questions to the plot. Honestly the 1st act got me so hyped up for what showrunners could probably show us, I expected something as good as the 1st Season. There are many good moments if we look at them separately from the main plot line, the visuals are good. But everything was so rushed and many genuinely interesting possibilities were thrown out and never explored it just made the overall season feel gray and unamusing. It's really a pity. And seeing all those questions now make me think only one thing *What could've been*

    I’m not very well in english because I’m French, but all I know is that the series tells only the information we need for understand the story, en season 1 help to understand season 2 because lots of parallels was between the seasons, like the relationship between Jinx and Isha, for jinx is the first time she take care of someone, Cait changed act 1 but act 2 she understand that she takes the wrong way, she fight for justice since season 1 and for me the relationship with Vi start season 1 is just reconciliation in jail, For Jinx I think Vi don’t understand what she going to do And Ekko only him can convince jinx because he can tell he meet a best version of her I love this series because he don’t take my hand and tell everything, we can imagine all we want or watch some theories about LOL I’m sorry I hope you understand what I wrote

    In the case of Maddie looking at all the scenes shes in i am 100% certain she is a noxian spy placed to keep an eye on Caitlyn because Ambessa knows Caitlyn's heart belongs to Vi. Ambessa uses Jinx as a way of creating a sort of tunnel vision for caitlyn so that cait cannot see past it! And if Caitlyn does see past it shes got Maddie to remove Caitlyn!

    One thing I am annoyed by was the constant and eventually cheap attempts at tugging at my emotions by tangling the flashbacks, vander being alive, and the alternate universe in front of me, and promptly disregarding them soon after vander's second death really annoyed me, especially after isha's sacrifice - I would have much preferred a happier ending where jinx had a chance to heal, and piltover & zaun had more fleshed out reasons to unite

      I'm not disappointed that the ending wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, I'm disappointed because after all the "what could have been" scenes, they blatantly ignored logic, needlessly killed several characters, and disregarded the potentional of several other plot threads, solely to give us bittersweet ending at best
