No to hot chocolate at Christmas unless you live in Tasmania or Melbourne. I live in Brisbane Queensland and my daughter and I went for a trip in mid December that included Melbourne, a few Tasmanian cities and a week in Sydney. When we packed Brisbane was really really hot, about 35 C and humid enough to be breathing in soup instead of air. For an American think Orlando Florida in November. I did that once - OMG it was bad and that from a Queenslander!!! Anyway, for Melbourne and Tassie we needed layers - hoodies, jumpers etc. Sydney was okay but the others - No! Melbourne it is said to have 4 seasons in 1 day and that is no joke. Our Christmas Days usually consist of waking up about 4 or 5. Doing any last packing of food in the esky. Attaching the boat to our 4WD Ute and then hitting the road for a 3/4 hour drive up the road to Bribie Island, get some bait from a local bait shop or get some yabbies. Put our boat in, fish, crab etc. Find a nice beach, drag across the prepared food of Chicken and Mango Salad, prawns, crabs etc and with full bellies, have a swim then go home, turn on the aircon and after cleaning up having a nap and then dinner is leftovers and dessert is Pavlova with cream mango, banana and berries and then poor your self as well into bed. We only celebrate it with the 3 of us so it's nice and easy.
