We also need everyone’s ideas and creativity of their own songs and stories. Most flutists have had music writing trained away or left unaddressed because of how much competition there is so we focus more on technical competence. I encourage people to start with getting a friend to write a new piece just for them and go from there. I know everyone has their own interpretation however, no one needs me to record another Mozart.
