Love the change of direction When the show was more about peaceful exploration - Ernie Anderson was the V/O but once Berman took over and the show became more about plots and violence, LaFontaine was the V/O. He was the voiceover for all of "DS9." Then he did some "Voyager" but some other guy did it at first, then it was the Gellar guy from ABC and Disney who did UPN in general for some of 1997 and 1998 at least. Though LaFontaine was on the roster. No Anderson on "Voyager," since it was a violent militant show just like "DS9."

I saw this movie for the first time that night. I was watching it on a 19inch B&W TV. It was only the second Bond movie I had seen at the time. My first was Diamonds Are Forever at the theater a few months earlier. Does any more of your recording of this broadcast exist? I remember ABC showing the pre-title sequence (ABC cut it completely for all their rebroadcasts), but I don't remember them showing the gun barrel sequence.

As this was a pilot for Love Boat...let it be said that the cast Aaron Spelling Productions would choose for the series was a VAST improvement over the pilot. Dick Van Patten would get fame of his own on Eight is Enough in 1977/78. And this was carried by Boston's WFXT 25 which was on its first stint of being owned by Fox, but behaving like it was still independent WXNE, once run by CBN Broadcasting. WFXT after a second Fox run is now owned by Cox Broadcasting.

After a hard day at school I remember coming home and unwinding watching Voltron with a bowl of cereal … I wish I would have realized I was living my best life at the time.

What a great clip ! WPWR was right behind channel 66 WGBO as far as programming went. It’s funny back then it seemed there was always something to watch on tv. Not like now everything is some infomercial or just flooded with commercials. Tv back then was just better.

Imagine this style being used with the “Xtra” branding… I think all they did to the logo (for 2001 anyway) was make it into a 2D circle instead of the sphere.

THANK YOU for uploading! This was when the Sci Fi channel really rocked! "The Bamboo Saucer" was veteran character actor Dan Duryea's last feature film. Sadly, he passed away in June of 1968 from cancer at the age of only 61. "The Bamboo Saucer" was released 4 months later. Talk about a bodacious "blast from the past"!

I used to watch KTZO Channel 20 out of San Francisco while stationed at Mill Valley AFS in 1984 and 1985. That TV station had a library of movies made by 20th Century-Fox from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Great viewing from way back when. One of the movies I caught and taped was THE LONG HOT SUMMER (1958) with Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Lee Remick, Anthony Franciosa, Orson Welles, and Angela Lansbury.
