Oh my God, I rarely make comment on RUclips, but this is such a display of craftmanship, beauty, precision... centuries of European skills passed down to her, and of course her natural talent!!!!

That looks beautiful, very skilful. I am almost ready to start my first violin and even if it comes out a quarter of that I'll be over the moon.

i don´t know if i should comment in german or English, but i think it looks quite easy when others build violas or violins, but i made a violin top in my internship. the top was finished in 2 weeks of hard work and i didn´t even start to make the f holes, because our 2 weeks were less then we needed, since then i paid much respect to everyone who builds violas and violins. This is the long form of saying "It is really impressive what you are doing" ;) Thanks for the video

I'd be careful about asserting that spring quartets and MUSA are 'telling the story of Europe'. First, even superficially, art music and grand houses are only tiny components of the European story. Second, at a deeper level, whilst string quartets and the particular styles of architecture seen in the large houses that are part of the network originated only in Europe, they are hardly exclusive to Europeans today. The many ethnically and culturally non-Europeans that perform/ create/ preserve/ own string quartets and/or large houses, may be surprised to learn that they've been put into the service of 'telling the European story' as opposed to the stories of two art forms (music and architecture).

Why is the inside not varnished?

I've watch a lot of stringed instruments being made, and I've sorta thought, I could do that, but I watch this, and I'm like, there is no way.... such incredible precision, such beautiful shapes, and appearing to be essentially eye balling parts of it. I agree with Pickerhat, Fantastische Handwerkskunt!

Do you play as well? Is that your first violin? Though, I think not. How many have you made? Do you still have the first one that you made? Sorry for so many questions. Just curious.
