Salvage auction side hits, Why I dont like them
Today were going to tear into a Nissan Rogue with a side hit. I don't prefer side hits like this but oh well. This car is going to replace Camryns Bronco for the winter so she doesn't have to run the mileage up driving back and forth to college classes in the crappy weather. this one definitely gets worse the further I get into it

The Beauty of Cherry: Transforming Logs into Stunning Lumber
Просмотров 158День назад
After a few years of air drying a couple thousand board feet of Cherry Lumber that I ran through the Woodmizer LX55 sawmill, Its finally time to start the process of turning it into a usable 1x6 board that we are going to use to finish the walls of the shouse garage. Long term plan is to make tongue and groove boards but first we must get them to the correct width and thickness using multiple t...

Rolled the dice on a theory we had about s wrecked ford f150 at a Copart auction. Turns out we were right and ended up being a quick flip in the world of rebuilders. With some minor frame work and some eBay specials I ended up with a pretty nice low mileage truck at a fraction of the price of a used one from Market place.

That's cool you're getting your daughter involved in the repair and painting process. Now she can earn her vehicle!
New subscriber here. In my opinion your channel deserves way more subscribers. You're very informative where needed, and cut the bullish out. Great job. And btw, was glad to hear you mention LKQ, I am employed @LKQ Hawkins Point in Baltimore, Md as a Parts Puller. 👍🏻Good to hear were useful in your neck of the woods too.
Appreciate that. Thanks for subscribing!
Id say it was sabotaged because they wanted to buy the truck and wanted bidding to stay low . ...
exactly. Evidently I wasn't clear about that in the video. A few people didn't understand that point
The front axle on this gen are an embarrassment wonder why they fail i have 02 crew with the originals 😮
my 13's original also with 120K miles. Its 2wd though so it doesnt get the abuse of 4x
Glad for your win!!!!!!!! Nice job
Thanks so much!!
Why is it that the 10mm always ends up missing?
I think I lose the 8mm just as much
I generally don't loose stuff, but have lost three 10mm that I can recall.
I genuinely cannot believe there are still people who weld without ANY PPE on... 16:55 ... what the HELL are you thinking? And in the next shot you have a proper welding helmet on... did you really save that much time by not grabbing it and risking your eyes/skin?
Duracell AGM batteries are far from crap. They’re manufactured in the U.S. by East Penn (Deka). We use them exclusively in our fleet of emergency responder vehicles. We’ve had no issues with them for years in hundreds of vehicles. Batteries made by Johnson Controls are a different story.
I bought one once. Had to warranty it within the year and then replaced it within the next year. For the price I paid it didnt last very long. So my opinion is theyre junk.
@ That’s called sample size insensitivity.
YOU GOT A FORD F 150///WALMART //DENNYS ARE HIRING??????? NICE AND EASY JOIBS

Hi, I like your content. Do you accept sponsored products?
Awesome video!!
You do great work, I'd buy one of the vehicles you repair.
Nice work.
Thanks!
Great work brother! I'm building a 50x100 next year, a frame machine is now a must need for me. A shop/house tour would be awesome to see too!
Build it bigger lol. You run out of room quick. Mine is 50x150 with living and it’s full. Looking at an addition soon.
@Shouse-life We were thinking about a 30x50 living with 2 stories, 16 ft walls etc. Now you have my wheels turning, everyone I talk to says no matter how big you build you will fill it. Regardless, great videos man I look forward to watching the channel grow!
was it not under warranty ? Another fumble by the engineers
Nope. It’s a builder
That's my kind of deals, I never get... good looking truck
Great vid!
Thanks. I have a Saleen that will be in a future video. Way future though.
You said possible mechanical issues and I never saw you look under the truck or check the oil.....
I did look under the truck when it was on the trailer. Not on camera, obviously. But I wasn’t concerned. I figured the mechanical was the battery being disconnected, which I was right.
How much did you pay the broker ??
I don’t use a broker. I know a guy. lol
so how much $$ was it?? How was it sabotaged? there is no S in "anyway."
someone purposely unhooked that ground and hid it so the truck wouldn't run hoping to buy it at auction cheap.
Thats some poor engineering for a hub to only go 50k.
Don't that microphone Get in the way of your vision while driving I bet you stare at it all the time.
I dont wear it all day, Just for the video section. Other wise you would just hear the wind noise of the truck as the camera is on the mirror. Ive tried it both ways. If its on my shirt you just hear me breathing. Im doing what I can to make the videos pleasant for you to watch. Its tough.
Just found your channel and subscribed! Love seeing that t-top fox body
Thats things a trouble maker.
@ O I bet lol
The thing under the hood looks like a tracker for a used car dealer they can shut the car off if they are behind on payments!!!!!
06:40 "AGM trucks?" Has nothing to do with the truck. AGM batteries are in every way better technology than the decades old flooded SLAs. Absorbed Glass Mat batteries have more lifecycles, charge faster, and are overall much safer. Won't argue about the brand...that's like arguing Ford vs Chevy. But AGM vs SLA? Not even a comparison.
I live in michigan and have owned a 2 wheel drive truck from 1990 for over 10 years and have drove thru feet of snow no problem. You need to be a absolute retard to get stuck or go thru something that isn't right. Its all on the driver and not what's being used.
Just admitted to hit and run on camera lol
My first thought was safety not sabotage. This took a good front end hit and the driver side airbags went off. Maybe they disconnected it to prevent the rest of the airbags going off after being bumped on a trailer or moved around with a loader potentially hurting a person like you that was looking at it in the auction yard.
wow very thorough.a pro.
When I was coming up there were a lot of dirt lots that would buy similar vehicles then sell them for 10% - 20% less than retail and let customers know they were fixed vehicles. As long as no salvage branding. My mother bought a Datsun 410 GX that way. Thing ran until I killed it in my teenage years. Paid her back for it. lol.
The front spoiler acts as an air dam. It helps keep the airflow under the car more laminar and thus reduces drag at highway speeds. That lip should be the lowest point of anything behind it around to the rear side of the fender hole. In a way it acts some what like a hood mounted bug deflector by making a wave that changes the airflow. The claim is 1-2 mpg, but driving dumb will lose you far more than that.
It's a Ford; it was sabotaged when built.
I remember (way back when) when it took 3 men and 2 mules to lift up a bumper and put it on.
That bastard was still heavy. If there was someone else to help I wouldn’t have said no to them. But stuff needs to get done.
@@Shouse-life Yep, I know what your saying, I have to replace the bumper on my Ram 1500 (rear) and It's steel, lol.
10k bumper piece lulz!
From ford I think that piece of plastic is like $450.
And this is a big reason why auto insurance is so expensive.
I agree. That’s kind of where I was going with the video. Like I said though. It works good for me.
Have you considering sites like rockauto or carparts for kits like the timing chain / sprockets? I see a set on rockauto for under 700, but was wondering if the Ford parts are known to be of better quality than those from third party sources?
Turned out beautiful
I fried a really nice audio system welding the frame. Lesson learned.
Any chance you'd be interested in a collab? I've got a foxbody that needs a slight tug. My local shops are camera shy.
I checked out your video on that and honestly if I were you, I’d put a strap around the rearend and wrap the other end around a tree. Put a strap around the rad support where it’s bent. Put a Come-a-long between that and another tree and pull it out. Cross measure from each strut tower until the measurements match. A little pushing and shoving I bet you can make it work and it won’t take long. I didn’t always have a frame machine and it sounds shady but if it works it works. We use to chain ford focuses to the steel posts of my old shop and pull the frame rails over 8-10” with a come-a-long. Broke a few along the way till I bought a port-a- power. Back in the day I’d drop it off at a frame guy to do what you need. I stopped to pick up a car one day and he forgot to pull a section of the firewall out. He hooked a come-a-long to the mount and yanked it out in like 3 minutes. That was Last time I dropped one off. Started looking outside the box afterwards and realized it isn’t rocket science. If you need help let me know.
@@Shouse-life Honestly, that's similar to how I've always done it, but his project will be a gift to someone else, so I'm approaching it with greater care than usual. Thanks.
Amazing video! I love your attention to detail and quality of work! Excellent job. Keep the wonderful content coming!
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it!
Never been off road, like new!
I had a buddy that bought a truck just like that! He did a rear door and boxside panel, then came the paint. Code was for Tuxedo Black,he is thick sometimes and he figured black is black,I tried to tell him.
Even black isn’t black. I had to respray a truck a few years ago because my black was blacker than the factory black. Ended up having to blend into the rear door to correct it. That truck had 4 variances for that code. Painting sucks some days.
Good process.
Appreciate the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Is that a battery tender it just keeps the battery charged maybe Great content keep it simple keep it moving I like that I'm going to subscribe and keep watching keep liking I don't like it thank you sir
A dead wheel bearing at 50k? What the heck are they making them out of these days?
Chinesium metal.
Did you have any problems getting that deployed airbag out? I tried to get a steering wheel from the junkyard with a deployed airbag, and I couldn't get the little clips to disengage. All the RUclips videos made it look so easy, but after an hour, I gave up.
It’s tricky. You’ll fight for a while then all of a sudden it pops out. Not sure what you did different to make it happen but it’s out.
The shop is going to look incredible. Not sure how you paint in the same area you cut wood in, but I'm sure you have some way to clean up all the dust.
Lots and lots of sweeping. Then I pull the door off the front of the prep station fan which bypasses the pre filters and I turn it to exhaust so it blows directly out the back of the building. Then I take an air blower and go wild on the shelf’s and cabinets. It’s an all day event. That’s why if I shut it down to do woodworking I’ll spend the week getting as much done before I clean it up. I need another building lol.
It would have been awesome if you could have included the preload spacer install process in this video.
