    Thank you for the video. I'd like to ask --- how far away from the dear do you have to stake the wires? I have a much smaller land space than you have. I am very much concerned about whether this dear can withstand the few very windy November December days we have here in NJ.

      We have very high wind here also. I use 550 paracord on the ears, the antlers, the front hips, and the back hips. They extend about 10 to 15 ft from the reindeer.

    Hi how did you tie him down so it won't blow over?

    • @teseract911

      Ring spiral ground anchors Here is a link, trust me, dont skimp on the anchors or para cord. Also and tie downs to the antlers or he will shake his head till his neck snaps www.amazon.com/dp/B005FOHXFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ZJKZFbP9MV14R

    This man gives good advice. I used the same pattern and had the same experience. The pattern sort of destroys itself as you go along so you need to be deliberate.

    can i ask what the glue is for please? can you disassemble this easy after the holidays? thank you!!

      The ply wood I used separated on me after I cut the peice. I used the glue and some clamps to squeeze it back together. Depending on how tight you make the notches will determine how easy it is to take it apart and put it together.

    what steps did you use to put it up in your yard?

    • @teseract911
      @teseract911 4 года назад

      That is tricky! 3 people minimum, 4 makes it easier. Put the head, ears, and antlers together first and put them to the side. Then put both of the front legs into the front hips. Now put the body on top of the front hips. Then lean the body forward on its two front legs (so the butt of the deer is in the air and pivoting forward on the two front legs) so you can bolt the head on. With the nose of the deer resting on the ground, put the back hips on and legs. Then pull her back on all four legs. Make sure you SECURE her to the ground. We had one fly away on us two years ago LOL.

    "Hey Poppie" - This was a fun video to watch. I had no idea they made ginormous reindeer. I liked the part where the kids are laying down along side of the pieces. I am going to take a shot at making the 5' sleigh this summer. I wasn't sure if I needed the transfer paper but its cheap enough and you recommended it - so yeah. I am wondering, since this is going to be painted, if I could make it out of 1/4" particle board instead of plywood, mostly because of the smooth finish. Also, is this easy enough to disassemble for storage? Thanks.

      Hello, if you are making it the same size I did, you will need to use 3/4 Ply. They take a lot of wind and need to be sturdy or they will fall over and break.
