It´s very good but I am a bit horrified (around 4th hour of the listen ) by how justice? works within US legal system. That an innocent person goes to prison if the defence lawyer is less than excellent. Kind of game of chess...With all the Presumption of Innocence. I do not think the legal system in my country is so fragile. Hope it is just a story far removed from reality...

This is, sadly, one of Michael Connelly's weakest novels, but it’s yet a fine listen, because of the superb reading by Peter Giles. If only Hollywood had more actors like him. Best wishes to his success on the screen.

Riveting listen!

Good story but long blank spots and missing dialogue.

As it is free, and you aren't paying for it, the makers either add gaps or bells or background noises. If it was perfect, the publishers would take it down as it is within copyright and the author receives no royalties from each play.

This upload was appreciated: hadn't heard this, yet.

Disappointed with the number of dead air spots and missed parts in the book because of the book not being fully audio.

I must admit it starts out brilliantly. But at 5:22 you start to question why u listened for the last hour. I get it that sometimes the writer doesn't know the ending himself. So he creates 4 or 5 different paths. In the end he picks one of them to finish it off. Unfortunately in detailing all these paths, you lose interest. Mainly because in the end 4/5 didn't really matter.

2:09 2:23 Iplease stop. i've loved yes loved reading ., and more recently listening to Micheal Connelly's books since the 80's. How ever Im sorry. Enough .., already with January 6 references. I choose to stop Mr Connelly I can't finish this book Perhaps, you should reread or try to remember how the late great Nelson demille handled considerable hotter political topics with out offending his readers. Shill
