Free to Flourish
Sometimes it feels impossible to hold on to dreams or believe there’s more to life than what we’re experiencing right now. Over time, it’s easy to feel like our hopes and sense of purpose have been quietly stolen away. But the truth is, there has never been and never will be another person just like you-and that matters! Whether you feel stuck, watched dreams fade, battled fear and anxiety, or faced overwhelming loss, you are still free to flourish. Sometimes we need permission to seek a new path, motivation to leave what’s familiar, or a simple framework to start fresh. Whatever you need, God’s design for you-in the new year and beyond-is to be free to flourish!

Happiness often comes and goes, tied to our circumstances-a great meal, a holiday gift, or an easy day. But joy? Joy is something deeper. It's something that's felt soul deep. It's intentional. It's a gift we can hold onto, even in the hardest moments. What if joy is less about what happens to us and more about who God is for us? Eastown was created for you! YES! God has a plan and you are loved by God. Death comes to all. You are prepared better than most.
Nice one
Nice story baby,i kike it🎉😊
I will only concentrate on the errors found in the comparison between the commands of ANE and the biblical commands. The whole passage is quite dishonest most probably caused by ignorance and missing research. 1) There were regulation for releasing debt slaves in ANE. Code of Hammurabi: "If any one fail to meet a claim for debt, and sell himself, his wife, his son, and daughter for money or give them away to forced labor: they shall work for three years in the house of the man who bought them, or the proprietor, and in the fourth year they shall be set free." This regulation is superior to the regulation in the Bible. Only three years of servedom compared to six years. No regulations for release of chattel slaves in the Bible. They were permanent property of the master. 2) Provisions were only mandatory for debt slaves i.e. Hebrews. 3) Murdering, mutilating or torturing slaves was a punishable crime in ANE. Code of the Nesilim: - If anyone slay a male or female slave in a quarrel, he shall bring this one and give two persons, either men or women, he shall let them go to his home. - If anyone smite a male or female slave, he shall bring this one also and give one person, he shall let him or her go to his home. - If anyone blind a male or female slave or knock out their teeth, he shall give ten half-shekels of silver, he shall let it go to his home. Code of Hammurabi: - If the prisoner die in prison from blows or maltreatment, the master of the prisoner shall convict the merchant before the judge. If he was a free-born man, the son of the merchant shall be put to death; if it was a slave, he shall pay one-third of a mina of gold, and all that the master of the prisoner gave he shall forfeit. It seems that the Hebrews just copeid already existing laws. There are even more examples. The laws in the Bible are neither unique or unprecedented. 4) That is the only point where I can agree. But liberation was only granted to run away slavesfrom outsite Israel. All other non-Hebrew chattel slave were not liberated. I would like to suggest that you invest more time in research and thinking to avoid several dishonest claims and statements
Wait, that was it? In a video entitled "Is the Bible Pro Slavery" you never once addressed what the Old Testament actually has to say on the subject? At all? This was disappointing. This is a real issue for me! How on earth can you have a video meant to address this subject and not even mention Leviticus 25:44-46 that says; "As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be you property. You may bequeath them to you sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly" This is chattel slavery plain and simple. And this is the Bible condoning it. Owning people as property for their entire lives, along with any children born to them. And this is NOT what I would have thought the Bible would say on the subject of something so horrendous as lifelong generational chattel slavery? I'm looking for an answer, and this video doesn't even quote what the Bible actually has to say on the subject? Doesn't even quote anything from the OT? I just don't get it. This is a real issue for some people. And some have actually looked into it. And the answer to the question in the title is pretty clear. The Bible does in fact condone chattel slavery. I mean by definition it does. "Why" has been the question I'm looking for an answer to. Not "if". The answer that is clear if you look into it. Like I have for years. I even had to learn some Hebrew to understand it in its original language. And I'm sorry, but this video doesn't even attempt to address what it says it's meant to do. Sorry, but it just doesn't.
Nick, thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts and research with us. It is evident that you care deeply about this as we do. We know with the time constraints of one teaching we can't dive into every scripture that mentions slavery, however we do believe the Bible is clear that every person is made in the image of God and therefore made equal. We welcome further discussion with you to talk about this topic. Please email info@eastown.church.
@@EastownChurch I understand you can't dive into every scripture that mentions slavery. Honestly I do. But this is an issue for a very good reason as it turns out. And to not even mention the verses that make this an issue in a video meant to address this issue? I just don't get that. And I see it way to often frankly. It's disappointing to me when I'm knowledgeable on the subject and see people continually avoid it. It makes me think no one has an actual answer. I've lost respect for so many apologists I used to like because of that.
Praise the Lord! 🙌😭
Thank you for the video. I didn't realize how much I needed to hear about persecution until I clicked the video. A much needed message I received today.

Kinda surprised that the reason given in this sermon for Jonah's running from God was that he was a "border-line racist" When in fact in Chapter 4 the word of God states that Jonah was angry with God for setting aside his judgment against Nineveh. He had had THAT conversation with God already ,when God first told him to go... This is what the the Bible actually said was Jonah's reason for not wanting to go: “He prayed to the LORD and said, “O LORD, is this not what I said when I was still in my country? That is why I ran to Tarshish, because I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and great in lovingkindness, and [when sinners turn to You] You revoke the [sentence of] disaster [against them].” Jonah 4:2 AMP www.bible.com/1588/jon.4.2.amp Jonah's says he didn't want to go because he knew God was going to forgive them anyway... It didn't say or imply that he didn't want to go because "they were different"... Keep it real Bro.
I live in a predominantly minority neighborhood (I'm the token White Guy :-)). When I moved in I was working 2nd shift, I'd get home 11-12 at night. For the 1st 6 months I was regularly stopped by the cops and asked 'What are you doing here?" Why, because I didn't fit, I was a white guy late at night in a black area. In other words I was profiled. After awhile I was never stopped. Why, because I was recognized as the White Guy. Once again Profiled. I was a Security Policeman in the AF. Profiling (ie This Is Not What I expect To See Here) is a huge vital part of street level police work. My advise is EVERYONE, if/when a cop stops you for no reason (no reason to You) Do Not play The Attitude Game. Nothing good can come from it. Back before I returned to The Lord not copping an Attitude got me out of....dozens. Here endth the sermon...and all Gods People said AMEN. :-)
Can’t wait for this!
