Hi I’m trying to reset my Beocom 1 for sale but keep getting the No Contact with Base error message

My doors sometimes open fully then they're stuck. I need to unplug the unit and force the door back to be able to do anything at all. Also, the cd hatch don't stay open more than a couple of seconds before it closes again. I have to time that in while changing the cd. Anyone here have any of those 2 problems?

I have my vam out. Ran a test on my Beosound 2000 and it says focus error. Cleaned lens, checked plastic gears, and magnet, laser motor, and diode. All of them work. Still recieving error code 2 for focus. What else can I do to troubleshoot?

Have you ever had to do the cassette mechanism on a Century? I followed your guide for the laser which worked out great but today some 7 years on the cassette mechanism has decide to stick in the play position with only some mechanism clicking every now and again and no drive turns. am guessing maybe a belt/controller problem?

Ha! Just ran across this, and it's about nine months later, December 19, 2020, at about half-past ten on a cold and rainy Tennessee Saturday night. I'm almost finished re-foaming my dad's Pentas' midrange drivers for his birthday/ Christmas present. I've already rebuilt both amplifiers and their power supplies with a full-on re-capping with good modern capactiors, plus a changeout of the power transistors' resistors. Well, the amplifiers themselves are sounding *really* great through an extra pair of Audix Nile V monitors. I'm about to glue down the last surround, and I'm stoked to hear the result in a few hours' time on the actual Penta columns. His amps had the same problem with the amplifiers stuck in standby mode, and a few years back, I said, "Ya know, they could probably stand a full rebuild. Lemme have at em!" And here we are, a few years later. (8^D) I strongly suspect that whatever distortion you might've been hearing was caused by the midrange drivers' foam surrounds completely disintegrating, as Dad's had. Cheers, and what a great deal for the fellow- only 60 quid! Quite reasonable. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you sir.
