thanks for the review, i have a regular q1 for my work setup and really like it but didnt like it for gaming because i felt like it took to long to press keys which matters when im trying to get kicks in m+. ill probably pick this one up because HE keyboards can actuate instantly

I love the transmogs, mounts etc. I HATE the forced PVP aspect to unlocking them. Too many solo lobbies that have people clearly on comms ganking you early on.

While I do know this isnt the most optimal for combat it makes it easier to declutter the hud which I appreciate sometimes lol

To break it down simpler: If your priority in MMOs is dungeons/raids, pick FFXIV If your priority is PvP, pick WoW If your priority is collection, horizontal progression, exploration, flying around a big open world, pick WoW If your priority is housing, social, RP, and being a degen, pick FFXIV If you want combat to feel good at its core and don't really care about mechanical visual clarity/obviousness, pick WoW If you want a game that has more restrictive but easier combat that is less demanding and more reliant on mechanics that are visually cleaner and easier to respond to, and don't mind a longer GCD and less responsive feel, pick FFXIV If you simply want the game with the most support, updates, content, and value, pick WoW If you want a game that has a better f2p scene with a lot of f2p content, pick FFXIV If you like anime, pick FFXIV, if you like DnD/MTG/LotRs/Baldur's Gate 3, pick WoW

Shadow priest and warlock are my favorites. But, resto shaman is my favorite healer.

Combat macros in general are pretty garbage, especially ones like these where you're trying to combine actions on one button. The big problem is macros don't skill queue like the actual hotkeys do, so you can't press the button just before your GCD is up to keep your GCD rolling. This will cause small delays in your rotation that will add up to big delays. Not to mention every once in a while the game will get confused and you'll either use the wrong action or the macro will just fail. There is a place for macros with certain combat actions, but this ain't it. These will make you objectively worse.

Wow was great and I loved it for many years. Now they might as well remove leveling. Even with chromie time it’s a dead experience and max level is all that matters in the game. Also the majority of messages in chat are all ads for selling boosts which makes the game feel very pay to win. The journey no longer matters. I haven’t played ffix long enough to really compare, but so far I’m having a good time and everyone I’ve met was friendly. The combat though… could definitely be improved upon.

Ff 14 started playing it today after i tried all those mmorpg like wow, lord of rings online star wars, neverwinter,eso guild wars, ff 14 reminded me of old school runescape from 2007, it gave me that feel of 07 runescape gave me like a goal to hit lvl 30 to get dragoon class and lvl 50 to fly my chocobo. Its really good and i barely starter and only in free trial. Might buy the started edit.

No but seriously, I am desperate to know if we can hide the neutral mobs with this mod, but also have a mod enabled to hide health bars out of combat, WITHOUT the neutral mobs glitching on mouseover. If I install both these mods and then mouseover or select any neutral mob it will always flash the whole healthbar for a split second and then default back to just the name. If you can find a solution to this I will literally give you my firstborn. I have been on a week's long journey to find the perfect nameplate add-on, and this is the only thing stopping Plater from being my solution.

I've been playing mmorpgs since I was like 7 years old. 29 next month. My two cents, wow was good because of the sense of adventure, now because it lacks that I play classic but because its the same shit Im used to it. I have fun playing it every once in awhile though. Now final fantasy 14, love the cinematics, love the amount of mini stories everywhere like holy shit is it easy to get invested in even profession quest lines! And the crafting... Omg the crafting, I played ff14 for a whole month just crafting and gathering and mining! IT WAS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR! There is so much shit to do in that game it is just un real, every day is a new adventure and new things to see. But the biggest problem I have that just ruins this game for me... GOD AWFULLY SLOW COMBAT! And everything shares a GCD except for a VERY few abilities. If they made the combat as fast as at least wows or really any other mmorpg out there ff14 would kill it.

The Harronir have been data mined since early beta. you run into them during the final zone in the leveling campaign. people have been calling them the undertrolls. I hope they do make them an Allied race

Final Fantasy’s is very limiting and formulaic, which is something I feel like is a detriment to its gameplay. They need to have more engaging gameplay systems. Or else players who want more interactivity will leave.

One main thing that puts me off in FF14 is the classes being just one role. Like in wow, you are a priest but you can be a damage priest or a priest that supports the healers or just straight up healer itself.

I’ve played PVP since 2.0 and 3.0, the current slim system is actually super nice compared to what we used to have imo. Back when I was doing a lot of Feast (old CC) having full hot bars was fun but a lot of things weren’t too useful, and Frontlines content was a nightmare with Holy spam. Current PVP, especially CC for me, is actually pretty good. The only issues I have are things like Drill + Marksman Spite having little to no counter play ability (server ticks and timing give you a split second to react, it’s not reliable) and Samurai’s LB being a bit too strong. Luckily you can watch and avoid samurai during their full LB state but sometimes a stray AOE gets you. I think balance is the majority of why current PVP isn’t as good as it could be, there is excessive crowd control right now and certain classes will dominate over others in the modes overall. It’s so close imo.

I play pvp in games, but honestly I will play league of legends if I want pvp. You hit part of my issue, its just too annoying to play. Every single enemy has 4 heals and a barrier to protect them and I like playing agressive. In league I am fine to be horrendously punished for misplaying and given the same advantage when I make good plays. I will always love ff14s story and worldbuilding, but honestly there's just better options for pvp.

Unpopular opinion wow is better than ff14 change my mind the end games in ff14 doesn’t exists and pvp sucks if pvp was good in ff14 would give me something to focus on after beating it

I started in WotLK, but I didn't really get into the grind of the game until MoP. My proudest mount is either the Kor'Kron War Wolf for AOTC: Hellscream, or both the Vicious Skeletal Warhorse and War Wolf, because I got those when they were a new, fresh, and cool concept. I'm not saying the current ones aren't, but there's a lot of those mounts now, and I was proud to have those two when they were the only ones you could get.

This event makes me remember I was in one of asmongold's last mount offs, really is bittersweet, I had him look up my SA collection and he decided to concede, but I have alot of love for the guy. My most prized mounts would be the challenge mode panda birds, love rocket, and the shackled ur'zul.
