Solitaire Playthrough of TRANQUILITY BASE / PART 2
Thanks for the great review. I just got a bought a copy of this, unwrapped it and realized I'm missing one blue pawn (Napoleon, of all things) and four green weakened markers (I only have 8). I converted one of my blue Chasseurs to play as Napoleon, and removed a single 2 strength calvary from the Allies for balance. Hopefully that will still let me get this to the table. If anyone has extra pieces that they would sell me, let me know!
WHAT
Just got this and the expansion new in shrink wrap off the second hand market. Watched this video to hype me up
I really appreciate this collection. I have several books in this collection. Do you plan to create a D-Day soltaire bookgame. It should be great.
I just backed this (and 'War of 1812') on Kickstarter - I'm really happy to see how compact the game is! Will there be some gameplay example videos soon?
The fold separates the players so that a red/white square is in the bottom right corner.
Cool! Does it come with like hidden maps and stuff under the board, like the special Monopoly sets?
It's so wee!
Hi @worthingtonpublishing6548! Is it possible to purchase your solitaire Bookgames in digital version? I have looked for them in your website, aswell in 'Wargame Vault' and 'Drive Thru RPG' but I don't see them available. Regards from Spain.
😩 *Promosm*
I know it's late but a very nice summary of the game, including pros and cons. It was my first war-game (followed by Africa Korps) for my 12th birthday.
Please use a static cam......
Very nice
Deluxe Version of Soviet Dawn is Awesome, great components!!
Job well done on this game. Excellent design, graphics, ease of playability, variety of scenarios, quick play plus portability. I travel extensively for business and Bismarck goes with me.
Good stuff!

A reprint of moonshot. Interesting.
Looking forward to this one! 👍
Got this for Christmas, l love Waterloo Solitaire can’t wait to play this one. Thanks for the video.
Good to see these and the people behind the game
Subscribed!!!!
Need to get this one! Have Bismarck, Waterloo n On To Moscow. All👍👍👍, though I need to reread OT Moscow rules. Feel like I'm missing something...though I could just be smarter than I think I am. Note: Keep up the Fire is most excellent.
no fork for life
Looks great! It's been a long time coming, can't wait to finally own a copy.
Thanks for the preview.
Love your games. Super playable, fun and capture very well their themes!
Have it and love it!
Looks beautiful! I'd be happy to do a playthrough video if you happen to have any review copies to send out =)
We will. Just waiting o them to arrive. I’ll get one our

Well done Grant. Will have to add this to my purchase list 👍
Thanks, a little amateurish but trying to get back to posting regular. We got a lot of games I haven't done videos for that I need to.
No problem. By the way any thoughts on doing a solitaire book game based on King Arthur and Excalibur? 🤔🙏
I ordered Tawara, only to not be sent due to the virus. Still pissed off about this.
Charlie. Email me at worthingtonpublishing@gmail.com. We can get this straight for you
I will be interested to see if I really need to buy Cruel Necessity again. Unlike other VPG ziplock games, they did produce a boxed edition of CN. Considering their pedigree, VPG did a good job with the Cruel Necessity boxed game which of course is the version I currently own. I think I would need to see some significant improvements/differences to buy it a second time.
Good to see you sir! Love the latest from you Malta Besieged!
Good to see you again Grant. Looking forward to seeing more videos about Worthington's games
Great to have you back, Grant. Now how about that Excalibur game 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I loved Tarawa 1943. Looking forward to the sequal! For now I still got to learn how to play Malta Besieged.
Thanks! Saipan and Tinian and Iwo
Great game! About 6 plays so far and its...well, magnificent! Simple and yet runs you through the gamut of emotions! Fight your way to the wall and the Pettigrew/Trimble Divisions get absoluty hammered by volley fire and cannister cards! Seemed impossible! Simple decisions like who to place a cover marker on can payoff or absolutely make you pay! You get the feel that the Union has a REAL player over there calling the shots! I dont really care what people like or not in the complexity of their games and yes there is a good deal of luck involved (best laid plans rely on some luck) but to instantly naysay this game for not being complex enough or too much luck involved is a bit strong and wrong. It may ultimately not be your thing and admittedly at first I wasn't sure but man am I glad I added this to stable of CW games I have. I have a blast with it! ( and often get blasted...)
Umm . . . I think you messed up this second part of your "how to play". I watched part 1, and was eager to watch part 2, but this is just 18 seconds of this dude mumbling to himself and not teaching the game. Nice quality control.
I have your game, can't stop playing. Addictive system and I'll keep playing till I win the damn thing! Well done Worthington.
Medal of Honor, not Congressional Medal of Honor
Bought one for shipment to Singapore
I just bought this yesterday. Looking forward to playing it!
I wish there was a how to play from the beginning. You assume a lot if knowledge here, no introduction at all.
ditto....not very good for noobs :(
Five hits in six dice happen once every 32 battles.
OK..I have Christmas money. I love solitaire wargames. What are your favorites, for me to consider? (besides this one!!)
Look at Waterloo solitaire, also look at call to adventure. Both are really good solitaire games. I'm currently trying to learn starship troopers solitaire, but that one's super in-depth.
Or just use a pencil...
I've got to wonder if this book game idea might be applied to other games and situations. I'm excited about this one.
Really wish this came in a spiral bound format to lay flat instead of cracking the spine to play. Also, would be a lot better with marker coated pages so it can be played more than once
I'm surprised the firepower of a ship doesn't degrade as the ship gets damaged.
Hey Grant, LOVED the review. I'm a HUGE fan of Columbia games and the block system... have both CI WF and EF. The block system really works for me, after three decades (or more) of using cardboard counters. *** Came up with a new thought about solo play. I'm NOT saying this is cheap but it is a bit more realistic. In the AH game "1914" they employ, as an option, something called "Blind squares and dummy counters", where you could possibly attack a "blank" unit. My thinking was broken into two different thoughts. #1... order two sets of blocks in each color (black, green and red) and put them on the boards. When combat happens your side pulls from a bag or cup... the unit you pull you fight (chit pull system). Eventually, the board is revealed and game play is attained. GOING ALONG with this, I bought the action dice from BOLT ACTION, which determines the action taken by that unit, simulating orders received from your enemy's command. Roll the dice, and do the action. OH, IF you pull an HQ, all the blocks come out. I think this will simulate the complete "Fog of War" really well. I am "bugging" Columbia to put out either an Anzio or North Africa campaign to CI, but nothing has come to fruit, as of yet. Love the block system and am excited about your block system as well... QUESTION... do you use 20mm or 24mm blocks? ALSO LOVE Hold the Line Revolutionary war.... will you include (when you reprint it) information as to how I can get the Hessians and the Scots figures form PSC? Thanks .... looking forward to more of your reviews.
I love supporting innovation in game design. Tough times create novel solutions. Keep up the good work guys!
