Thanks for posting this gem! Your lucky to have these home movies of a once great attraction. Grew up on Ossipee Lake every summer, including ‘67 and we could see the tiny gondolas going up and down that mountain all day long.
Looks like first game was Sunday September 20, 1970 Red Sox 3 Senators 1. Second game, I don't know...but the third one looks like Saturday September 25, 1971. You have rare film...this is one of the very first games that Carlton Fisk ever played in MLB. Take another look at it. John Curtis is the pitcher for the Red Sox. Last one is definitely Saturday August 5, 1972 Orioles at Red Sox.
Friends of Ted or Del Wilbur sitting in club box next to dugout? George Scott doesn't look so big next to Frank Howard - nobody did. Almost no movement in stands during play, they cane to see 'em play! Sens still wearing black shoes. @ 5:14 Tom Yawkey with head resting in hand? @ 17:35 good look at how rough the facing on Green Monster was, was was not rebuilt until 1976. 8/5/72 no new uni's at home, Yaz wore new road uni's at ASG
Nice. Fan footage of the Senators arguing Tony C's home run. Lots of Frank Howard footage. Hit 44 homers, and was by far the team's highest payed player that year. Thanks for sharing this.
Awesome video, thanks for posting! I believe these are the games: Mon., May 25, 1970 Red Sox 5 Senators 3 Williams manages Wash., rhubarb Thu., July 2, 1970 Red Sox 5, Senators 0 Yaz homer, Peters shutout Wed., Aug. 19, 1970 White Sox 13 Red Sox 5 ChiSox score 11 in ninth! Sat., Sept. 25, 1971 Red Sox 6, Senators 3 Curtis vs. McLain, Fisk single Sat., Aug. 5, 1972 Red Sox 6, Orioles 3 Tiant and Cater appear
I was trying to figure out the year of these games. I was at a game against WAS on 9/6/69. Sox won 9-5. I realized this was in 1970 when I noticed Gary Peters pitching. Great stuff going back toward my first game at Fenway (5/30/69 vs MN, 3-2 Sox win).
@@georgehakimian5949 I think Gary Peters won the game and hit a home run. Not a surprise since he was one of the best hitting pitchers. Sonny Siebert too.
Ted Williams at home plate thinking 💭 This ump is giving ME the ground rules for Fenway Park???” And Frank Howard making George Scott look like a little kid😅

Absolutely beautiful footage, in amazing quality. A treasure.
Great quality video for those days. Any lip readers who can tell us what Williams was saying in the dugout?
GREAT FOOTAGE!!!

Saw young Cecil Cooper in there too...

The Baltimore game was probably 1971.

"Promo sm"
Frank Howard is one big dude. Seeing him stand next to George Scott made him look small.
Awesome cars! what became of them?

Love seeing any footage of big Frank Howard!
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Thank you for posting.
