It's kinda funny though to think that because of where your ancestors were from that makes you that identity; where you are born and raised within that culture makes you that identity. My paternal grandparents and maternal great-grandparents were all from Ireland. I've even done two DNA tests (two different ancentry companies) and it's 100% Ireland. I even have dual Irish citizenship and a passport but that does not make me Irish because I was not born and raised there. People in other countries (I've been to 29 around the world) including Ireland, make fun Americans saying their Irish or African or Chinese when born and raised is the USA. Embrace and celebrate your family's heritage but gatekeeping other people's family heritage and experience is ridiculous. It's not a contest because we're all just American. And no "American" dose not include everyone from the North to South American continents. As I said, I've been to 29 countries around the world and in every single one (including Canada, Mexico, Belize, Guatamala, Brazil, Chile and Argentina) they called me "American" not "United States American".
