I recently got into the keyboard hobby and was looking to start another project of my own…. Hey everyone, I wanted to share this quick vid about how I designed, cnc machined, and assembled my very own retropad! I started this project a year ago and finally brought myself to make the fully edited project video about it. Any macropads I should make next? let me know! Check out Digital Carpentry an...
Making the world’s most useless keyboard

Hey everyone, I wanted to share this quick vid about how I designed, cnc machined, and assembled my very own walnut wood isopad! the idea came to me once i saw a similar macropad and just had to make a wood version. This took place over span of a couple months since I had to wait for a lot of different parts but in the end I am very happy with how it turned out! Any macropads I should make next?...
I couldn’t find a macropad I liked, so I made my own!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my first custom macropad build, wich included designing and marking a custom Mahogany case and assembling it with the parts I had found for it I have been working on and off on this video for about six months (intermittently having my iPad die and having to redo all the editing probably didn’t help ‘0~0 ) and always having to change “just one more thing” but I ...

Installing a vertical multi angle GPU bracket
How about vinegar instead of lemon juice and salt?
what are the switches
now lets see the monitor cable routing.
Beautiful... doesn't other encoders come in the way when operating one of them?
Nice juste your GPU touch your Board 🎉🎉🎉
How was the rotary encoders on this? are they smooth to turn?
Can i use this if i have the lian li o11 dynamic evo with fans at the bottom ?
What function does the big knob controls??
did they send this to you for free? How did you get them to do that?
why do you care
@@realterm69 curious because it’s a small channel and the description says it’s free
excellent video, if you end up swapping the switches i think black inks would be perfect to match the walnut
OMG use wood glue.
This is amazing, really great work! Can I ask you which CNC are you using for wood?
Where do I throw my money to get a 3d file so I can print this for myself? Fantastic work!
That's some really skillful work, thanks for sharing, would love to see more!
Love the vids! Keep up the good work!
Sweeeeeet
Amazing!
Thank you! Truly appreciate it!
Great narration + skilled king+ informative+ pleasant to watch
Thank you my connected viewer! May the gods bless you with many red cookies
epic.
Hell yeah! Thank you!
Fantastic production value. Like others have said I thought you had multiple thousands of subs. How do you design the pcb?
Thank you so much! I work hard on every video son I’m glad you enjoy it! I don’t design the pcbs, this me was from a open source project on GitHub
Somehow missed this video!! I’m amazed, I love what you did with the macropad! The brass weight is a great touch, I wish I had the tools to polish metal pieces to a mirror finish (would be so good for another board weight I have). Love the look and I bet the added heftiness to the finished build is super nice (compared to mine which is super light). Although you do make it seem like I took a whole year to ship the parts lol I promise it was a fast gb 😂😂 Also…how did you solder the switches in if you soldered the microcontroller in first?? Was that why the title says a misadventure? Hope that all worked out, I know microcontroller desoldering is terrible
Thank you!! Yeah the brass weight was a last minute addition since I felt like the build needed something more! The switches aren’t actually functioning as of now, since I have been too lazy to buy the mill Max sockets to finish the build, more projects demand my attention!
@@bitdrive7971 good luck! can’t wait to see the upcoming projects you have planned. although you’re going to have a really hard time with the millmax sockets i think, i don’t know how you’re going to get the ones for the center 2 switches in with the promicro controller already soldered in
Hard to see dark video does thís make your card longer in length I don't have much room in length video card might hit PC case fan
It does set your card back a little bit
Wow! Such a gorgeous project! Curious, how much was the PCBWay for that piece?
Thank you for the kind words! I think around 10usd
ah yes finally not one of those blue plastic exposed wire 5c production cost irons
I know right? I used to have this agreste store one at some point, worst soldering experience ever, heating up a spoon with a lighter would have worked better 😆
That looks beautiful!
Thank you very much my man!
omggg this is soo clean, pls, me want
Hahaha thank you! I don’t think I’ll make more any time soon but I’m glad you like it!
Damn that was really clean - love the build
Thank you my man! Took a bit but I’m glad you enjoyed it!
amazing video
How do you plug the hdmi/DP cable into the graphics card?
Average OSU players keyboard:
I think the shorts are something that are helping your vids, keep them both up
Yesss the shorts seem to do well view wise, plus it’s kinda fun making and watching them, just having this high energy package of how a project came to be
@@bitdrive7971 btw how much does the cnc you use cost? And also model name♥️
Next make low profile board with choc robins 🙏🙏
I’ll keep it in mind 😄
@@bitdrive7971 you better
where can i find information about your cnc router? is it something off the shelf?
It’s from a local company here over in Bosnia they made it on order
This was imo the best macropad you made by far! Great work as always.
Thank you so much! I do try my best :) I’m very pleased with the lighter color of the ash being surrounded by the darker walnut, adds a nice bit of contrast imo
45° all the way
Incredible project, congratulations. I would find it amazing, if the underside of the keys were the golden material you used on the base. Just an opinion from my point of view. I'm modifying a bento project too, but in 3D printing.
Nice! Thank you so much!
dude. i swear i was halfway through this and totally thought you had several million subs. i honestly can't see any way this video could be improved. insanely underrated
Goddamn man, thank you so much! Genuinely got me teary eyed over here! I try my best!
Right??! I’m always so let down when scrolling through insta and seeing his posts. They all look amazing and I would buy them all! I guess at least my bank account is happy I can’t 🤣
@@KLMO888 haha yup, if I ever make any of these suckers in bigger numbers they ain’t gonna be cheap sadly 😄
This is beautiful, i love how it turned out! Asking as a newbie- does removing the spacers from the pcb affect performance at all? Were they intended to help with cooling, or were they in place for other reasons?
Not at all, they are just there to let the leds shine through. It would work without the bottom piece entirely
Looks fantastic! Another great build.
Thank you so much! Always a pleasure having you around these parts!
HOW THE ACTUALLY HELL DO YOU HAVE ONLY 265 SUBS? WHEN I SAW 265 I EXPECTED 265,000. SUBBING.
Haha thank you! Getting there, slowly but surely
Can i have to links or files to the pcb?
Right now the creator is only selling the whole macropads, but here is a link www.smollkeebs.com/product/6891801/preorder-l3
😍
Thank youuuu!
I love you
Hahaha thank you!!! ❤️❤️
@@bitdrive7971 that better be the macro pad that said that
Wait so how did you attach this to the psu shroud that is literally what I was looking for an install for because I wonder if this would work on my Thermaltake core p6.
its attached via a magnet on the feet, which are pretty strong.
I found the reel 😊
Yes!
damn i thought i was watching disguisedtoast for a second- great video btw!
Hahaha, thank you so much!
that brass piece though 😩 it looks incredible
Thank youuuu! It took so damn long off camera to polish that thing you wound not believe 🥲
great work as always 🙏
Thank you so much! I try my best :)
looks absolutely adorable! i love it!
Thank you so much!
Put a lot of time into this little feller!
