Just depends on how you want to configure your setup or if you want to do multi-track recording of your content. I have the TR8S and it has a stereo input to mix with the sounds of the TR8S of any other device you have, such as the TD3 or other synthesizer. In this video, it appears that he is only using a MIDI connection to each device with the TD3 going through a effects pedal and then to what looks like a mixer.

Hi, I use a Midi cable out from the Tr8 to Crave. Crave is in midi channel 2. Tr8 is MAster and Crave is Slave. IT should work only by connecting the midi cable in the TR8 midi OUT port and into the CRave's midi IN port. Midi sync is the easiest way to connect two or more devices.

Great question, never thought about that. I think both are unique in their own way, my friend. TR-8 is digital emulation, Drumbrute is 100% "analog". Both have a nice live performance approach with different workflows which may help you create your own live performance technique. Adding a low budget distortion/ or any other fx pedal to the Drumbrute makes it sound HUGE. Tr8 includes a reverb/delay and some compression knobs. I would say the following considering my little experience with both machines (which has been great): If you want to play live and get a great sound as soon as you open the box, get a TR8/TR8S. Get a Drumbrute if you are more into sound design or would like a more "analog" sound and enjoy the ride. Fortunately with both machines you can get a good second-hand deal on ebay or Mercado Libre if you are in Latin America. What about you? have a great weekend.

@@chinokako well I'm looking into it, but I don't know much I use to put my hands on a Mixer and vinyl but it is almost 2 decades ago, and since then I have never more touched stuff like this. Yet I have a bit more time s and the idea of going back to music has started emerging in my head for a few months yet. So I am trying to figure out what would be nice to start with.

@@chinokako Thanks so much. But I’m on Ableton live 10 though. Are you on Live 10? My research seems to suggest the step sequencer only works on Ableton Live 9. Thanks and pls keep me posted

@@djwanesti4444 that is correct, Sir., I was using Live 10 (Suite version) while testing this sequencer , it works like a charm. If you are performing Live and happen to have the Suite version you can check some Max for Live sequencers. Download them at maxforlive.com Cheers!

@@chinokako Thanks much and sure will give it a shot. I’m on Live 10 standard. And I install the sequencer by dropping the folder into Ableton’s midi remote script.

Drumbrute is a great machine. In this video Drumbrute is master and connected via midi to the Crave. Then, a midi out cable from the Crave into the TD3 midi in. You can also sync them via CV but with midi cables is as easy as just plug and play (make sure you choose the appropiate midi channels in to your synths). In case you are using a Daw like Ableton Live, you can use it to sync all your gear via USB. Saludos from Mexico.
