This is a spectacular discussion between 2 very wise men of God! Must watch/listen!
Beautiful conversation about building friendship and community in spite of differences. The von Helms show is my new favorite podcast!
I thought you did a great job in tying politics and religion together. Loved the video.
Michael, what a privilege to hear you speak about CSL, and what a privilege to be your godfather.!
Great video
The conversation with the brilliant Michael Ward seemed intimate, inviting, relevant and hopeful, while being intellectually honest and humble. Origin stories are so foundational to the reality of many great people and their known vocations. I really appreciated this insightful journey into NW Clerk aka CS Lewis! My desire to read far outstretches my capacity, however, the Problem with Pain seems to be calling me as I continue my current vocational work. Many blessings Dr. Von Helms!
Political and Racial differences will always be overcome by a shared love of Jesus
Todd always has the most interesting and timely guests. I always anticipate and wonder who he comes up with next
Conflict entrepreneurs exist to stoke division BUT conversations like this can silence them
Have always loved the idea of the true myth. Thanks for the great conversation
Love this! Thank you for sharing!
What a great interview this is going to be! Can’t wait to watch the entire thing. A must watch
Very meaningful words! Love this!
I love that C.S. Lewis once said that he knew fiction when he saw it, and the gospels did not read like fiction. Great portion of interview.
Very interesting and like all things " CS Lewis" thought provoking.
This is an amazing interview with a true scholar who is rich in fascinating stories of a dearly loved author. Dr. von Helms also showed great depth and knowledge of C.S. Lewis. We need more of these conversations.
So cool to see Coach K encourage this kid, as well as Thomas's positive attitude and amazing perspective. Thank you!
Religious freedom for all can sometimes be a tough principle to follow in polarizing times. Thank you for such an inspiring conversation.
Many interesting layers to this wonderful conversation about C.S. Lewis - and certain viewers will enjoy the lovely rapport between Fr. Michael Ward & Dr. Von Helms.
This has got to be a short discussion - because the devil is not real. He is a human invention designed to scare early churchgoers. Now if I'm wrong, please post fact-based evidence to prove it (and not the bible).
I'm in the middle of my cancer treatments for the second time. I had a little set back this week and Thomas, your story , strength, perseverance and strong will has given me the gas in my tank I needed this week. Keep fighting, one step at a time and remain faithful during the hard, scary process is so powerful! I admire what you've been through and your positive attitude. Todd is my parent's neighbor and he and his wife have such genuine, generous hearts. I am so appreciative of you both and this inspiring story. God bless you all and Thomas keep fighting!! I will too.
What a great, inspiring, and informative conversation!
Interesting conversation. Much to consider. Thanks Dr. von Helms.
Insightful and reassuring conversation. Thanks Dr. von Helms.
I also think we are in good hands! Great conversation.
I really like this! Learned a lot!
What an amazing story! Thomas's remarkable journey should inspire everyone to be grateful for each day and strive to enjoy life and encourage others. We need to hear more stories like this one. Thank you!
C.S. Lewis accepted Gods grace and shared it with the World!
❤
What an incredible testimony from a remarkable young man. His overall trust in the Lord in the midst of battling brain cancer has encouraged me on my everyday walk as a follower of Christ. My favorite part is how Coach K refers to his attitude in the letter he wrote to him saying "If all my players had your attitude we would win a national championship every year". Thomas will continue to be in my prayers!
Really an inspirational story to listen to, I'll pray for Thomas
Even as a diehard Carolina fan, this is such an awesome testimony/interview. Must watch!
This is awesome!!!!
Wow! I love this!!!!
‘The Screwtape Letters’ is likely the most insightful book of “fiction” I’ve ever read. If you haven’t read it…..make it a priority! You won’t be sorry❤
Wow! Great timing for me. Just last night I was talking to the Lord paraphrasing the words of Paul saying I do the things I ought not to do and don’t do the things that I should do. Your interview was a great reminder. We know our battle is not against flesh and blood, but the lion is definitely lurking. After listening to the interview, I think many people like me would quickly respond the “opposite” of the devil is God, not giving much thought before they give the answer. I guess it would be like if they say the opposite of bad is good. I got a lot out of a short interview. 1:31

Great insight!
I love the focus on rest in this talk, especially with how pervasive it can feel in today’s society. Thanks!
It's very nice to see two people of different backgrounds and worldviews have a constructive conversation. Thank you!
👍🏼
Such a powerful discussion! The way these two break down complex concepts, especially from The Screwtape Letters, makes them so accessible. It’s a true gift to help others think more deeply about what is true. Fantastic work!
Exactly! This interview enabled me to understand the proper way to view good and evil, and also increase my appreciation for C.S. Lewis and the Screwtape Letters.
Even if you don’t agree I think that hearing unique perspectives is so important in a climate that is growing more and more polarized. You don’t have to agree but at least have the conversation. Thanks for having this one for us
How rare and refreshing to see two brilliant guys who are humble and able to communicate complex topics in a way that anyone can understand, and therefore walk away better prepared to consider more deeply what is true. What a gift!
I’m glad this was addressed acknowledging evil and the devil is so important and hearing about it talked by Michael ward is inspiring as it’s important for the world today
This was very insightful and unique! I had never even considered this perspective of good and evil not being opposites but adjacent. Thank you!
