thralls and pets don't need to eat to survive, they can get buffs from some foods, and different foods can heal, but otherwise the decay timer of thralls would depend on if they would "die".

And lover stone does not stack with rested(all skills 5%), well rested(10%) or lovers comfort(15%) like warrior/mage/thief does. So it is actually possible to get 15% for all skills as well as 20% for warrior/mage/thief

Lover’s Stone gives 15% to all skill learning speeds

I was wrong about shield charge being a mod, its a perk in the shield perk tree at lvl 100
