Ulysse Nardin Diver X Skeleton OPS 3723-170-2C/3A Review
That there is a damned fine looking, but goofy theme watch. I'd take it in normal mode.
I did work out looking rather nice!
Why does the date change the moment you press the crown?
Wow that is weird! How did you even catch that 😳
@@hourstriker I was interested in whether the date changes slowly or in an instant like a Rolex. By the way, which one is it? This watch is popular in Japan and I can't get it😅
@@TR-do2sx I believe it's instant... I can't remember ever seeing that before. Maybe some artifact from setting the date then going right to changing the time, maybe I need to advance past 12. Also these are press watches, so possible it could be in need of service. It's the CBS2212.FC6535.
looks nice, but a bit bigger than the advertised size. what's your wrist size?
7.25
Would be a good review sir, accept you are not doing this watch justice with your terrible lighting.
This watch was tough to shoot, the dial just absorbed light. Thanks for the criticism though, we just ordered some new lights :) Always trying to improve, so thanks!
@@hourstriker Great. I really liked your no nonsense review. I will keep watching.
@@darrenparker2100 thanks :) The in-depth review on the site has much more detail on the watch... but those reviews range from 3000-5000 words... so cancel your plans tonight...
Glad you made it out of the tunnel in more recent videos! Fantastic watch - thank you for your review 🙏
Haha thanks :)
How come these don't hold their value?
Pretty much no new watch will hold it's value anymore on the secondary market. Although you will get a better price secondhand, factor in repair costs. I had four personal watches need to be serviced or repaired this year from $500 to $2000.
Are you on the dunny?
It's where I do my best work! We've been working on the area a bit to cut down on the hollow sound. Try one of our newer videos and let us know if it's still bad.
love it indeed
Fun piece, CW and seconde/seconde/ both just doing great stuff recently!
Id love it for a day, then all that weird shit would drive me crazy
Or just put it away for a bit lol
@@hourstrikerna I'd sell it at a huge loss 😂
@@dannyfree1120 hey I do that all the time ROFL
@@hourstriker as far as my wife knows, I make a profit on all of them 😉
@@dannyfree1120 never works for me lol
I bought this popular video watch from AMZWATCH , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $180! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
Stupid
How many of this model were manufactured?
It's not limited.
"Meme" watch
lol yeah, but still a fun piece :)
why so serious? nobody wearing a mech watch is really serious
Cracker Jack prize. 😂
@@etebol sold out pretty fast.
It’s all for fun. I wish I hadn’t missed out. Love it
In the official website the height of this watch is 13.8 mm and you say it 14.1, have you measured it?
Yes we measured it on our calipers. We often find diameter / lug to lug and thickness are off a bit. Might just be where they measure the case versus us. We just center the calipers on the case back and measure to the tip of the crystal.
@hourstriker Ok, thank you, I'm really interested in this watch, but unfortunately, I can't find any nearby store that allows me to try it before buying and the thickness of the watch slightly scary me
@@maxnovikov51 I didn't really notice it as being too bad... but I have owned a few watches over 18mm, so...
@hourstriker I see. What is the wrist size in the video?
@@maxnovikov51 7.25 inches. 58.5 mm wide.
i utterly hate all rubber straps
They are very beautiful! metal ones are 🤮🤢
I like them on dive watches :) I have one on one of my pilot's watches too :/
@@YallaMiami Not sure why, but I really don't like wearing bracelets...
But I like leather
@@xtr1092 what about rubber backed leather? ;)
This is an amazing watch, so refreshing to see something so different.
Yeah... it's not a 40 mm stainless steel sports watch!
@@hourstriker This has definitely changed my grail wish list. The beauty in using the movement to tell time. The first Freak watches are also insane but this is so much more refined and a very modern look.
@@johndow4430 yeah UN is doing some of the best work in modern design IMO
In terms of aesthetics, I find the Swatch to be more appealing. The absence of a screw-down crown is a bit disappointing, but the 100m water resistance rating is more than adequate for most situations. I'm not particularly fond of the display backs on either watch; I would prefer a solid caseback with more decorative detailing for both models. As for the Blancpain, while it is an impressive timepiece, I wouldn't classify it as a professional diver's watch. In today's world, most divers rely on dive computers, and both of these watches are more about the diver-inspired aesthetic rather than serving as true tools of the trade.
I do find the Swatch better looking as well. I think visibility was the name of the game with the 500 Fathoms. The lume is so strong on the numerals that you can see it glowing in pretty much direct sunlight, especially if you ever get any shade. Normally I'd agree about the case backs, but the Nudibranch on the Scuba Fifty Fathoms is just fun as is showing the mechanical movement to somebody who might not be used to seeing a running watch. On the 500 Fathoms that they're able to keep the 1000 m water resistance and show off that rotor is pretty cool. If it was a standard rotor, I'd say close the back up. I totally agree, anyone diving under 10-20 meters probably will have a dive computer strapped on, but the 500 Fathoms could go along with them as a back up. Also, not sure who would dive with a water this expensive in any place it would be hard to recover. I'm not even sure I'd swim with it ;)
Also about the screw down crown, I wonder if it's a safety issue. Might lead to a lot of people messing up the crowns if they're not used to screw down crowns. My Offshore had a crown that wouldn't screw in any more and I'm the most careful person ever. I'm curious if there is a safety in the SISTEM51 to not be hurt by setting the date in the "danger zone" either... I'd say a lot of novice watch owners will own this watch and not know about avoiding setting the date during certain hours. I start and catch myself doing that sometimes...
Twelve X is beautiful but expensive
I mean when you look at other skeleton watches with in-house movements offering over 3 days of power reserve, it's not too bad ;)
Those are so nice, I bought a Prx but I regret not spending the extra money for the Twelve, looks so much better imo
Yes they are some great watches! Even compare well to watches that cost many multiples more...
Nice Video thanks :)
No problem :)
Oh, poo now I want one.
Sure is a nice piece!
Glashütte Original SeaQ Panoramadatum with green dial on steel bracelet all the day along. I just love it.
Absolutely stunning! I need one!
Me too!
Looks good 👍
It's pretty nice :)
Stunning watch
Thanks the blue really stands out with the "glassbox" crystal design.
For the price this is an unbelievably good looking and well made watch.
Still amazed they pulled it off... but CW does seems to release something super interesting every few months TBH.
Fire 🔥
Yeah super nice :)
Is the AR coating on both sides of the crystal?
I believe it's only on one side.
Not a screw-down crown? Pass.
Never really understood why it's not standard on all sports / dive / field watches...
Looks very nice
Yeah it's super nice!
P nis
I have one identical to this finally delivering today! 🎉
Awesome congrats! It's a great watch. Have a titanium Twelve on the way :)
Not impressive and too expensive !!!
It's definitely an inquired taste with it's case and dial/bezel/sapphire design. It did grow on me with the time I spent with it though.
What a design catastrophe. They had such a great opportunity to design a watch for enthusiasts like my who will never be able to afford one but they fluffed it 😉
Do you prefer the 2057 over the 2067?
@@hourstriker I do prefer the 2057, but I’m just so turned off by the implementation of the date function. It’s not in keeping with watch for me. I wish they’d have done a 6 o clock like the 3810.
@@ProfessorPesca yeah actually no date would have been my preference. Mention it in the review on site.
@@hourstriker No date would be the dream but very few manufacturers seem inclined to do this for their top models.
@@ProfessorPesca belongs on a calendar watch ;) Don't mind it on my perpetual calendar, but annoys me on most other watches.
amzwatch watch are the best, I say this from experience.
It's a great watch, esp. for the price!
It is gorgeous!
Yeah I do miss it :(
@@hourstriker you sold it?
@@cabasadefogo9533 it was provided by Ulysse Nardin to review :)
@@hourstriker I see. Would love to see a review of the white diver X skeleton or the ops freak.
@@cabasadefogo9533 maybe won't need to wait too long on the second one ;)
Get the blue strap. I just received the strap. Looks beautiful.
It was actually in the box, just never moved it over to it ;)
Nice !!
Yeah it's a super nice watch :)
I have two Lacos and have been coveting this one for awhile. Thanks!
Really liked it, especially the look of the case material.
Love the look of this watch, thanks for the review.
Very cool piece. I actually did a long review on it and also another long write up when we took it on a trip on the site :)
Good video subscribed.
Thanks :)
I don't like the face.
Like dial color or just the layout / indices / etc...?
@@hourstriker I like the white numbers like the field watch
@@BaronFlyingClub ah that makes sense. I do like the sandwich style dial.
Amazing watch. I am curious what material are the hands made of on this rose gold model? Gold?
Yeah looking at the detailed picture we took for the review, the minute hand is definitely gold. The hour hand is gold and also had a blackened metal on it as well. Probably titanium with DLC I'd guess.
@@hourstriker amazing craftsmanship by UN! I also noticed the polishing on the side of the case that's truly spectacular. This whole case structure, bevels and crown are simply full of mastery touches.
@@krysh195 yeah UN is doing some crazy things right now. Did you see the overview video and review of the Diver X Skeleton OPs? That was pretty crazy as well. Should be getting in a Freak ONE or Freak S soon to review as well :)
@@hourstriker I am happy to report that your review helped me with the decision and now I am a happy owner of the freak x rose gold. It came on a black velcro strap which suits the watch perfectly imo. The quality of this watch is truly next level. I know the freak is all about the carousel movement but to me the main thing is actually the design and construction of the case (which in rose gold shows various finishes) and it is just so so so well done! Your wife was right - this is a 10 out of 10 watch :)
@@krysh195 that's awesome, I'm glad we could help :) The rose gold Freak X was stunning and I agree the case design and use of materials do stand on their own against the movement. I hope you don't mind, but I shared your story with the president of Ulysse Nardin and he's excited for you!
Beautiful.
The dial is super distinctive IMO.
@@hourstriker Absolutely. You know what amazes me is not watches which are endlessly discussed, but others people ignore. Bausele has solid offerings which people routinely sleep on.
@@megasoid yeah I can't stand the endless talk of Rolex, AP and RM. I own a Royal Oak Offshore Montoya and all the recent talk about AP and it's hype has kind of ruined the brand for me. Hopefully with all the hype falling off, I'll fall in love with the brand again. My wife has a 16622 Yacht-Master and the hype has also kind of ruined it for her. We have over 200 brands on the site and we're trying to get as many brands as possible to send us in watches to review that cover everything from a few hundred dollars on up. Hopefully we'll have a pretty broad list of brands that we've reviewed in time. Tomorrow we're posting a review of a Laco. We also have some very "old money" brands sending in watches along with new up and comers :)
@@hourstriker Good for you and best of luck. Just subscribed.
You really deliver on the wrist shots. Thanks for your vids, keep it up
Thanks, lots more watches in-coming :)
