If anything, it actually shows Kanan still had some good left in him, or love stronger for Tariq. 1.Being he cared that much for Tariq, & saw him as more of a son at the end, then he did his actual son. 2.Kanan actually did the right thing in that situation. 3.Juke had gotten even more cold as Kanan, since she was more than willing to kill a kid, Tariq, when she had no personal grievances with him especially.

In 1967, when an interracial couple worried about what other people thought of their marriage, they were not afraid of opinions. They are concerned that their home and their jobs and their very existence and that of their children are at risk. Do you not understand the danger they were in? For that matter, where do you think an interracial couple would live in 1967? Who would sell or rent a home to them?

You really need to have watched both TOS, and TNG and the TOS movies before watching this movie. You miss some of the deeper stories, like we meet Picard's family in Season 4 of TNG. We see Data get the chip in Season 7.

Cissy is beyond brain dead. Her shooting Teddy literally ruined the show for me. I mean it’s still a good show, but it just makes the ending so stupid. She could’ve literally just let him finish transferring the money and then shot him. Getting that money would of ended everything. The whole damn reason Franklin became who he has has done everything he’s done is to get this money. If Cissy just let Teddy finish the transfer, Franklin could’ve got his money, been done with this whole game and started a family with his wife. Then for Teddy, why the f*k would he say that to Cissy. Teddy could've literally said "yeah one second I'll take you to him after this". Then boom Cissy would not have shot him. Or Teddy could've said a fake prison so Cussy thinks he's actually at a prison. Like his response was the stupidest thing to say. Also, why even bring Cissy. seeing her history with Teddy I knew it was going to be an issue and something was gonna happen. literally should've brought Leon and the whole transfer would've gone smoothly. Franklin would of got money, started his legitimate businesses and got out of the drug game, and live happily ever after.

I get your point about pacing, but you also have to consider the time this came out. Movies, especially musicals, were big events that you planned your night around. They make it long and have as many numbers in it as possible, so you feel like you're getting your money's worth. They still do that with Indian films today, even the intermission in the middle.
